Intriguing concept to maximize your lives while still being safe. The art is really cool, but the different styles between the levels and in-between text screens feels a little jarring. The platforming itself feels tight and satisfying. I'm not sure if there was any music, but it wasn't playing for me. It'd be nice if you could see each of the levels when you have to make your bet, rather than just seeing a par, as each player will find different things difficult. Overall, quite a cute and enjoyable game.

I liked the betting mechanics. Apart from that a nice platformer game.
@zanyg Thanks for the feedback! There is no sound yet, but we're hoping to get some added before today's deadline. We're also planning to make the text screen backgrounds a little less bright/saturated so those screens are more legible. We chose not to show the level for the betting portion because we wanted the player to take a blind gamble on their skills and discover how the levels work as they go. But that is a fair point.
@attala Thanks, glad you liked it!

It's perfect i love it
The art was very good, and the mechanics felt very smooth
I was impressed with how many puzzles you were able to generate from the limited amount of mechanics
overall very polished, great job!
@yena-han Thank you so much for your kind words. I am very glad you enjoyed it!
Nice work! I like the idea of betting your lives, it's a really interesting system. The platforming feels very nice too.
@gamesplusjames Thanks a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Damn, that was way more fun, than I expected! I guess my gambling addiction got the best of me once again  Really fun gameplay. It's amazing how you managed to make so many different levels in such a short period of time. Good job.
@annie-owl Thanks so much! I'm really glad you had fun and sorry for taking advantage of your addiction :P.
A really solid platformer with a very interesting feature! The levels were very though but not too tough. It also looks very nice. Great job!
@sheepolution Thanks so much for playing our game and the kind words! You performed so well!

interesting twist on the platformer genre. The betting mechanic was a little confusing at first but I got around it after some levels. The platforming felt alright, but the controls could've been a bit more responsive. Especially the wall jumping is a bit janky. Art and Sound are top notch :) good work on that front!
But I didn't like the default control scheme for keyboard users. I would've preferred the classic wasd+space+shift schema for games like this.
@duke Thanks so much for the feedback!
Nice work! The level design was well done and the betting lives mechanic was very interesting. I haven't seen that done before.
@abraxas-interactive Thanks very much!

I was warned in the sub title that the game would be "super-tough"... and boy it was, I had to skip past most because my nickname is n00b3000 but I still had fun through the levels I could beat, awesome job!

@kylazaur Thanks again for playing our game on stream, and for the kind words and feedback!
Love the art and the controls are real smooth. The betting mechanic is a real interesting take and really makes the harder levels more rewarding and/or punishing! Love the level design on some of the levels (especially the wall climb doors one!).

next level level design 🔑 well done!
@christopher-wong @tweedle Thanks so much for the kind words and thanks so much for playing the game! We are really glad you enjoyed it.
Very tough game, loved the whole life betting/gambling concept behind it!! Great job!!
Cannot rate the game, because I was not able to participate, here's some feedback. :)
1. Really enjoy the presentation of your page. It's concise and to the point. Explained what I was going to do in your game fairly well and it's pleasant to look at.
2. I like the art in your game. The character look and animations are cute and engaging. The environment is clear, in that I can tell background apart from interactive areas. That's useful for gameplay.
3. The lack of grace jump (meaning the ability to jump for a short amount of time after you have left a platform) ruins the game for me. I was not able or willing to adapt my brain to the absence of this feature. In my opinion, this is a must have for fast, precision based platformers such as your own.
4. I didn't like it that I cannot dash while clinging to a wall. It seems arbitrary to me that I am forced to jump first, then dash.
5. I don't quite understand the reason for detaching the player from the wall as much as you do when jumping off of a wall. Perhaps to be far enough from wall spikes. Still, my brain didn't want to accept that as a "normal" thing.
6. I have a slightly older controller with which I played your game. This means the left stick doesn't like to return to its resting position as precisely and effectively as it should. This made my character unexpectedly run full blast to the left, causing unexpected deaths. Not sure what deadzone value you used, but I would recommend a higher one, especially considering that your game has not analogue input whatsoever. You could easily have a 0.5f deadzone and the game would work perfectly well, and this problem would be avoided.
7. Music was catchy, but quite loud, and I didn't enjoy it fairly quickly in the experience.
Conclusion: All in all a pretty good entry, however, the gameplay/controls blunders I have mentioned damaged my experience of your game enough that I didn't want to play it again after the first game over screen.
@mike-inprinciple Wow thanks for all this feedback. This is very useful. I understand the frustration with the lack of a grace jump. That was a design choice on my end, as I prefer tougher platformers to not have this feature. I felt like allowing the players hitbox to be almost all the way off the platform and still be able to jump was a happy medium for our game. Managing the wall jump is always very tricky. Finding the perfect balance of a nice jump feeling vs sticking close to that wall is always a hard one (at least for me). We were happy with where we ended up, and did design levels using the fact that the wall jump was a bit further than some other games. The deadzone was set fairly carefully using the controller I have which also does have some stick drift. Unfortunately the movement feels less responsive the higher the deadzone gets so it's a tricky thing to balance.
@scofflaw-games Thanks a lot for playing our game on your stream!
What can I say, you watched me die a million times on stream and keep playing. So clearly it's got stuff going for it.
@nayaki-anandan Thanks again for playing on your stream! It was really fun to watch you play!

This was really a nice and fun little game ! Sadly, after loosing all my lives, I wasn't willing to go through it again  I died on the level 12. I couldn't make the dash while I was on the wall. It's cute and the music suits well ! Keep up the good work !
Thanks @harska! Perfectly understandable, it is a very hard game haha. But if you feel the itch to see the last couple levels, you can use the hotkey to skip back to where you were: https://pastebin.com/ZFCQ2BaK

Interesting way of dealing with the life system, it's such an obvious, yet unique way ; basically just betting your lives is something so simple I never imagined a gameplay mechanic around this.
I really like the art style, and the controls are fluid. Just please change either the jump button or the dash button on the keyboard ; having to stretch my hand to reach both keys at the same time is not practical at all, especially in a game requiring good reflexes like this one.
With that said, good job guys ;)
@quasar47 Thanks a lot for playing our game! We wanted to have a controls option where you could configure your controls but that was out of scope for our limited time. We designed with controller in mind so for keyboard I did what felt most natural to me, but having more options would have been better.

Nice mechanic, and the game feels good to play. Particularly like the character animations.
@rossng Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it.
Wish my controller had been working! Played again with the gamepad and it was much less brutally difficult.

Nice game! Some interesting level design ideas ( the level where you do wall jump on the doors is cool ) I lost at level 13 ^^
@mrjoshuamclean Glad you had a chance to play our game again! Did you play the second time on stream? We'd love to see that!
@ursagames Thanks for playing our game on stream! Way to go beating the game first try!

That's a really cool system! I enjoyed the game a lot, actually! It was so hard >.< I played with mouse and keyboard, so maybe that's why, but dang it was difficult haha. Well presented and well made. My only gripe is that dashing when you're on the wall makes you dash backwards, which led to a lot of frustration. Otherwise, it was really fun :D
@pixel-boy Thanks so much for trying out our game! You were so close to the end! Good job! And don't forget there is a hotkey to skip levels if you still want to try and beat the game!
@flywolfe I am really glad to hear you enjoyed our game! Yeah I think it is a bit easier (for me at least) on controller. I am surprised that you were able to dash while on the wall but in any case dashing is always in the direction your character faces, so when you're on the wall you face away from the wall. But I am glad you still enjoyed the game nonetheless!
Great game, solid controls. Nice art style and really fun concept. Love it!
@fear-games Thanks, glad you liked it!

Ugh my new addiction... thanks.
No but really the game was extremely fun. Found my self wanting to try and get a better score over and over again! Some of the mechanics remind me of those trolly platformer games which honestly are a really fun time to play.
Your game was a ton of fun and I'm sure you could see that as you were watching XD

this game is so cool!!!!!!! you have a finished game right here! amazing job, you can be really proud of yourself for creating such a well polished and well looking game! I'd love to see it in stores, you deserve mmoney for this! I really have nothing to say about it, it's perfect!
@nippaaah Wow! Just so kind! Thanks so much! <3
Such a nice platformer with a good difficulty curve and an intriguing take on the theme. The controls are pretty tight except the wall jumping - that feels a bit sudden and weird. Given the fact lives are a limited resource, the pick a door level feels a bit cheap. It's quite easy, but still. Sometimes I'd hear the death sound, but I'd still survive.
@secretpocketcat Thanks for the feedback! The "dodge death" glitch is a known bug, but let's just call it a "second chance" feature.
This is a really cool game you did right here. I have a soft spot for challenging plattformers and this one right here checks all the marks for what makes a plattformer good. Tight controls, creative level design and really goo difficulty curve.
This could easilly become a full fledged game with some more levels. Well done.
@dr4g0nsoul Thanks so much for the kind words. We are really glad you enjoyed it :)
Amazing entry! I can't believe how well polished this came out for a game jam. The controls feel great even on keyboard (I didn't even feel comfortable playing Super Meat Boy on keyboard, so that's an impressive feat). The level design is top notch. If I could make a suggestion it may be to show a level preview before you bet, so you can judge and decide "I got this in 1!"
@doubledragonbimmy Thanks so much for the kind words! We are really glad you enjoyed it!

Hello! It's a very simple and fun game, isn't it? But to be honest, it's better to take risks on real events. Do you like soccer? Here is a good site where you will be given links to the most interesting matches - https://www.ua-football.com/en/live/ Why am I talking about risk? Everything is simple. I love to bet on the results of intersting matches. Has anyone here tried this?
