Enjoyed the art and style. The camera tilting was very unique and fun. While it was a "simple" platformer, your attention to detail made it surprisingly FUN...and thats what its all about!

I enjoyed this game. Simple, but fun for a bit. I really enjoyed the Einstein quote in relation to the theme of ld36. You should start the game with that quote on the title screen!
Enjoyed it. Especially the announcer voice...LOL
Pretty cool! I enjoyed the dialog...very funny. Very surprised with the amount of assets for a jam game. Well done! Couple of critiques - It seemed like the skeleton swords still damaged me after they were dead? Also, it would have been nice for "escape" button to pause and give you a menu with the option to quit.
Enjoyed your game! The visual style, although simple, was very effective. I enjoyed the puzzles a great deal. I especially enjoyed that if you fall, the level reloads seamlessly. Well done!
enjoyed the level design and detail. enjoyed the puzzle aspect of the traps. As others mentioned, I struggled a bit with the controls, but alas it is a good 48h entry!
Enjoyed your game. Very unique and interesting mechanic. Combined platforming with puzzle solving. Graphics and sound were well done. Didn't catch how it tied into the "start with nothing" theme though?
I enjoyed your game! I thought it was nice how the placement of the turrets determined the path of the enemies instead of a preset path. Nice pathfinding code! Perhaps it would be nice to add some sort of mechanic that prohibts you from building as many towers as possible...a spending system or something. Although with 48 hours I know its tough! Well done!
Nice work! I was worried about another flappy bird clone, but this is certainly a unique take that works with the theme. Well done!
Enjoyed it!
This is a really good jam entry! Nice platformer that gives a nod to the theme. Enjoyed how each level was tailored to teach you about your new powers and the last few levels had you put everything together. Very well done! I enjoyed all 8 levels! Also nice touch to give some stats at the end!
By the way, you guys should start working on leaving feedback for other games. It will drive traffic to your page and I am sure you will get high ratings!
haha! I enjoyed your game. I love your interpretation of the theme and the game was surprisingly fun to bounce around in.
Enjoyed this game a lot! The mini games were great and I could see you releasing this as an educational game. Music and sound effects were awesome. Could possibly speed the pace a bit between mini games.
Enjoyed this a great deal! Not sure how it ties in with the theme, but I enjoyed it. Probably my favorite game of the jam so far. Well done! Capture.PNG
Enjoyed your game. Very nice level design!
Great job. Best use of the theme I have seen so far. The only critique I would give would be to maybe ramp the difficulty a bit slower...maybe less enemies at first. Also, if you hit escape at the menu it puts you in an empty state. Very well done though!
Solid entry! Congrats for finishing a game in time. Only feedback I would give would be that the sound effects seemed really loud. But perhaps that was just me..
Fixed the link. I didn't realize I never changed the itch.io status from "Draft". Doh!
@ryu Thanks for the feedback! I initially had a small loop of the music I created but it had a problem looping and there was a small delay in between the loops. I didnt really have time to fix it so I just made a longer version of the song and faded.....I agree with you though and appreciate the feedback.
I enjoyed this game way more than I should have. Very funny, really good art. Well done!
Ran fine for me. Enjoyed it! Not sure about the "start with nothing theme though"? Enjoyed your graphics and sound in particular.
I enjoyed your game! I liked the graphics and the use of the theme. I noticed when upgrading fire rate it would put me into negative points. For isntance, I would have 50 points, click the upgrade and then have -150 or something. Also, maybe if the enemy collides with the turret you lose the turret? Just an idea....overall i enjoyed and it kept me for a bit!
Enjoyed it! Well done with the theme and execution.
Enjoyed your game! Interesting take on the theme and it was engaging.
Really solid compo entry! I enjoyed the setup and the narration. It added to the mood and humor. Puzzle solving was fun. I actually liked the feel of the controls and I liked how you did the "adaptive" camera follow. Also, the zoom level made it more challenging, but as you mentioned...it is a balance element. I liked it...thought it was well done...especially given the 48h time constraint.
Well done. Small scope, finished game. This what the jam is all about! I think it is cool how you got the cars to follow different traffic patterns...I bet that took a bit of doing?
Took me a minute to figure out that I needed to upgrade right away...after that..I was hooked for a bit...well done!
I cant believe how good this game is. Excellent job. Really hard to believe it was done in 3 days...blows me away. I had a lot of fun and this is the only straight 5.0 game I have rated. Very well done. Yall should certainly follow this up...I would buy this on steam no doubt.
Great job! Enjoyed the graphics and thought it was a cool mechanic.
Nice game! Very unique...
Level design and lighting were super cool. Interesting take on the loop theme, but Erica got on my nerves pretty quickly! lol
good concept but laggy and mouse didnt lock
I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected! Well done and an excellent take on the theme.
Nice work...full 3D for a compo is an accomplishment. The mood was intense...maybe a little more light when the lights come on
I had a great time playing your game...amazingly polished for a jam game! I particularly liked the graphics and sound and the variety of enemies. Oh, and destructible terrain?!?! nice touch... I found myself wishing I could fire faster....although maybe i just got unlucky and did not get that powerup...anyhow...very nice..
Nice game! I like this take on the theme and I had a lot more fun playing than I expected! well done...
I really loved the graphics and vibe of this game! Also the animations were very smooth. Hiding from the evil overseers has a ton of potential. I know its a jam game, but some sort of goal or something would be great. I think yall should take this game further!
Fun and intense little puzzle game. Enjoyed it!
Loved this game! Excellent and humorous take on the theme. It was a bit tricky to figure out the controls and to understand the different types of valves at first, but once I figured it out it kept my attention. Turned into a nice puzzle game. I think this could be a fairly decent mobile game if yall ever wanted to try.
I enjoyed your game and congratulations on your good results! It may seem simple, but I would be interested to know more about how you did your path following logic. That is something I would like to work on for next time.
Enjoyed it although the controls were a bit difficult to master. I LOVED your take on the theme....very creative. Also the sound effects....oh man....worth every minute just for those! Well done..
enjoy it liked the highscore feature.
I had a good time playing your game! I would have kept playing if there were more levels for sure. Well done!
Nice work! Having to start all over after dying felt a bit harsh...perhaps more health pickups would be nice...
Pretty funny...wish some of the text was more clear....some of the text was unreadable which is a shame cause the text I could read was funny...
This is a great game! Really good job applying the theme in the best way ive seen yet. Also, knowing your audience has a lot of developers and whatnot who get the humor. Just a great job all around. One thing though: Several times it said "while(x<500 || a<800)" but you had to get both numbers greater than. Either the operator should be "&&" or you should only need to get one number above the level!
@jegus9 - What would feel better than the spacebar? Let me know and I'll add it as an alternate input. Thanks...
@ausstein Highest score I have seen yet! I agree the theme application was a bit of a stretch. Thanks for spending some time with the game!
@ausstein, @jegus9 I adjusted the difficulty to scale more smoothly. There was a large bug that made the game scale to unplayable around level 7 or so. Give it a shot if you have time!
@ausstein Nice! Too easy or did it feel ok?
@zackavelli Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree with you about the sprites. For some reason I went 3D thinking I would make some simple polygon ships but there is no way I would have had the time...2D would be much better. I think I will convert it over and give it a full treatment now that Ld is over. Thanks again for the feedback.
@ausstein @ale @fronwewq Just thought I would let you all know that I have tweaked the difficulty scaling. It should ramp up much more quickly now. The enemies keep their speed, just spawn more rapidly. Also added a screen showing the high scores. Would be honored if you all would give it one more play!
@ausstein Thanks for playing again man! Sorry to hear about the bug...I was struggling with that in earlier releases and thought I had it fixed...basically the missile fires so fast that collision is never detected. I will need to slow them down or increase the hitbox.....thanks for the feedback!
@fronwewq Thanks for the feedback! The enemies are spawned totally at random. I am increasing the spawn rate and the number of enemies exponentially for each wave. I agree with you though that the shot sequencing is what makes it fun. I have been thinking about how to improve the game outside of the jam and I think there could be a bit of a rhythm game in there. I would like to come up with an idea that has the same gameplay but isnt space ships...perhaps slinging paint or something....also what do you think about composite color enemies..for example a purple enemy would need to be hit twice, once by red and once by blue...sorta like super enemies?
Same as above, windows 10 html 5 stuck at 95% loading. I'll check back later on!
Web build works! Was fun for a bit, although the difficulty could have started a bit easier.
Excellent puzzle game! Had a similar vibe as portal, but with a unique approach....very well done.
Enjoyed it!
I enjoyed all the weirdness of this game! More jokes would have been great...I kept playing to take in all the amazing things happening in the background of hell....lol
I really enjoyed this game. The loop theme fits perfectly with beat loops! Collecting the records and adding/subtracting from the beat was an innovative touch. Perhaps a sound fx for when you get hit would be nice...sometimes I didnt realize that I had been hit. Very well done...especially for a compo!
Twas fun! I liked the take on the loop theme and the mario-like game mechanics. I felt that perhaps the cops should do more damage or take something away or something. Also, it was not obvious at first that I could jump on top of enemies in mario style. Overall though, excellent jam entry!
Enjoyed it! Controls were nice...powerups provided good progression. Well done!
The graphics, modeling, worlds and overall feel to this game are excellent. I also really like the idea of planet jumping to avoid the sun. I really wanted to like this game, but ultimately I found it frustrating. It takes a while before you realize what the bonuses are for. I felt like after leaving a planet it was much too difficult to find another one. If you have 2 sets of wings, maybe you can line one up...no wings or even 1 set and it was almost impossible. Perhaps provide more time to turn without wings, make the wings last longer or ensure that every planet has at least 1 set of wings to pickup. Also, it was difficult to determine when to jump planets. Perhaps if the ship was a bit slower on planet, you could line it up better. I hope yall iterate on this after the jam though because I think it could be a great game...perhaps mobile?
Enjoyed your game! Especially enjoyed the millennial humor. Yaaaasssss!
After reading some of the other comments, I would like to elaborate on my comment. Starting over when dying is too harsh, but I am not against it being difficult. Gives it an old school feel and I like it. I like the idea of building on the conditions for the same level and I think moving the user backwards is still a good mechanic...its just taking them all the way back on one death is too harsh. Maybe only take them back one step, and perhaps only take them back when they have died twice or something. Also, when you update the game, perhaps you could start with some easier levels...this would help keep the game fun, but you could also keep it difficult when the user gets to the more difficult levels. Again, great game and it is for sure worth polishing and expanding post jam.
Enjoyed it! Graphics, atmosphere and controls were good. Had fun hanging out in your sphere for a bit!
Awesome game...especially for a compo! Had a blast...best entry ive tried yet.
This game was amazing. I really didnt expect the story to be so good...and so deep and thought provoking....really great job.
Very well done! Loved the music, and the little animation and sound the gun makes. Felt great. Nice color mechanic as well. Couple of things, 1 the status bars were a bit offscreen for me (2560x1600 resolution..not very common). Also, it would be nice for escape or something allow you to quit. Nice work!
Unique and fun for a bit. Very nice graphics and feel...
Well done! I enjoyed this game for a good bit. Pushing the whole row was an interesting take on the match 3. Combine that with the enemy pushed off the conveyor becoming an obstacle made a nice challenge. Perhaps if you line up 3 on the conveyor you could kill them as well? Not sure...just an idea...that was the first thing I tried was to push 3 of the same type on to the conveyor.. :) Regardless...I had a good time. Here is my high score: ddscore.gif
Forgot to mention...thank you for putting a "quit" option in. Yours was the first download game that I didnt have to go to task manager to quit! LOL
Hello, perhaps I just missed it, but is your source code available? I was interested in how you set up your unity project. Great game! Thanks...
