Okkkk this game is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I thought it was kind of heartbreaking at first, seeing this old man getting ignored and people being so ungrateful to him... And then it took a turn I wasn't expecting at all! From beginning to end I was so hooked, congrats on this awesome game!!

doot 2020-10-06 12:58

This game is incredible. Everything is great in it. The storytelling, the pacing, the art, the intuitive gameplay with enough variety of gameplay, the sound design...

How can this be done in three days? Did you reuse most of the assets from other projects?

Thanks a lot for the game and keep up the good work 💕

pixelmoose-studio 2020-10-06 15:07

Amazing game, with everyting, graphics, sound desing, storry, details and pasing. How this was made in 72 hours is beond belivable.

xiyou 2020-10-06 15:19

Game mood awesome. I got scared when the music first came on and I thought this game could clearly be number one!

b0guslaw 2020-10-06 15:20

Great game, clever through and through, absolutely well done.

uglyswedishfish 2020-10-06 15:21

Amazing job, nothing else to say. LOVE LOVE LOVE the sound. I don't know what magic you used to make this in 72 hours, but my god is it good.

midorimelody 2020-10-06 15:22

This game is amazing. I really got lost in it and played through the whole thing. It was so trippy!!! Great job!!!!

2020-10-06 15:25

How many Bas Hoogebooms, and GreenWorms were you to make this?? A masterpiece. I absolutely loved the audio, on top of all the other very good aspects of your game, the audio finished me and triggered goosebumps. The dialogs, the arts, the little details, so good. Just enough fuckery in the "loop solvings" to make you feel the character's struggle but not enough to turn into an annoying gaming experience. Again, bravo.

thegreenworm 2020-10-06 15:28

To adress previous comments on "How the f*** did we do this in 72h ???", we used an office Asset pack. The rest is pure game dev magic ;)

2020-10-06 15:30

Game has a great style and sound design. Good job!

bauke-regnerus 2020-10-06 15:42

An adventure executed really well! I like the shaded graphics and the animations of the characters. Great job, lekker man!

skyeward 2020-10-06 15:52

This is suuuuuper legit, love how much you got done here, mad top tier

gonzalol 2020-10-06 16:03

What an experience. The best game I played on the event so far. 5 stars.

2020-10-06 16:13

I can't believe it was done in 72 hours! Great story, mood and soundtrack - the whole thing is an awesome game. 5/5

grenk 2020-10-06 16:20

Great game. Very stylish!

dampfwaltze 2020-10-06 16:40

WOW

2020-10-06 16:51

I really like it, walking simulators are cool. I liked the janitor plot as well. I wish I´ve finished it but I couldn´t get past the bathroom code puzzle. That frustrated me a bit, but overall it´s a good game!

hank-ather 2020-10-06 16:53

Well done execution of the concept, I wasn't ready for that ending. My only critique would be that this is a game that would benefit from a slower walk speed, I felt like the Janitor was running all over the place which towards the end makes sense, but in the beginning feels very opposed to the character y'all wrote.

Excellent submission!

cerins 2020-10-06 17:09

Great style and sound

midorimelody 2020-10-06 17:25

This game was so cool I had to share it! I love this. I don't even know how to feel. This is a great game!

cjgladback 2020-10-07 22:58

Not normally the kind of game I choose to play, but from sound to graphics it got the mood pretty perfectly. Really well done. I did notice that if you went back in the men's bathroom when you already had the mop (I was trying to put it away early, I guess) it respawned another mop. If only you could dual wield. And I did get a little lost thinking the out of order sign didn't progress anything, but that just extended that sequence a little while. Either way, great job, makes me simultaneously sad and grateful not to be in an office right now.

Well, this game right here... you people nailed the mood, loved all the shaders and unshaded object, seamless transitions, all those props... man... you deserve the first spot. Loved it when the game got dark, was the director's montor displaying textures used in the game :D ? I really really enjoyed the game and would definitely support an extended version. good audio design as well. good job

(At the end after cleaning those people, I went through a door and stood in an infinite space of eternal darkness and the game didn't close it self or anything, did I break the game somehow or was it intended?)

thegreenworm 2020-10-17 19:09

@arad-hamidsamiee Ahah, yeah the director's monitor has some broken textures ^^' For the end part, you're supposed to turn around, there's an exit and a little cutscene ;)

arad-hamidsamiee 2020-10-17 20:37

@thegreenworm thanks for the hint, I'm playing it again rn

(Edit: found the ending, it was a nice closure, idk why I didn't find the exit the first time.)

bereg 2020-10-18 17:10

The game is just great. I really dig the graphics, sound and the gameplay, everything seems so polished and well-made. Wonderful job with setting the atmosphere. So far it's the best game I've seen on jams.

zeonblue 2020-10-18 17:12

WOW! What did I just play! This game is amazing! Starts off slow, but man oh man, just stick with it! Love the music on this one as well, fits the tone of the game VERY well. I played all the way through, this is so very well done! I totally get what you meant about adding little animations in my game :)

jordan-kelly 2020-10-22 17:35

This game was WILD! Thanks for submitting it to my livestream. You really took the theme and ran with it.

The VOD is [available here](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/778373320) if you want to watch it again. Great job!

fockx 2020-10-23 23:04

Dude, the game is so dope. Love how slowly it turns to a psychodelia! That trippy vibe pretty similar to our game, please check it if you'll have a minute :)

thegreenworm 2020-10-23 23:10

@fockx I've bookmarked it, will be playing it tomorrow ! Thanks for stopping by :)

gabriel-dias-oliveira-de-almeida 2020-10-23 23:30

I tried your game and realized that we had some similiar ideas to bring something more dark and I loved! I played your game till the end and loved the ending! ^^

rodobodolfo 2020-10-24 01:48

WOW!! Best game I've played so far. I REALLY like the art style. and the audio quality is just perfect. The start of the music really set the mood. 5/5 great job!!

erikiene 2020-10-24 13:19

I think this is #1 on my narrative-driven games list this jam. Impactful story-telling together with well-combined visual and audio style made for a very enjoyable experience.

justcamh 2020-10-24 14:34

Hey, I played your game on stream, and my gosh, what an incredible game this is! I never saw the twist coming and was eager to explore everything. Hell, you saw my live reaction, and I stand by that.

Anyways, here's the vod if you'd like to rewatch; https://www.twitch.tv/videos/780254814 Thanks for submitting your game!

moski 2020-10-24 19:39

Bloody hell, what a ride!

firefox_Ujz6S5YFKX.png

I've seen a lot of narrative experiences in this jam, and a lot of "repeat the same task over and over", but this one takes the prize for adding "loop" as a means to drive the narrative forward. And what a narrative it was, with a well written scenario, human fears, and a subtle yet sudden descent into madness.

I really can't praise this game enough. I'm a sucker for experiences like Stanley Parable, and this one did a lot in the short time it had going for it. Extremely well done! :whale:

2020-10-25 10:47

Wow, this is awesome! It was so immersive, the graphics, vfx, and sound really added to the experience. I loved the amount of work put into the npc dialogue, and this was just really cool to play. I liked how descend deeper into madness throughout the game, and the ending is awesome.

sevenlevelgames 2020-10-25 14:30

I thought it was a casual at first but this game is amazing ! I really liked the graphics, sounds and the controls of the game. Great Job !

coleslaughter 2020-10-25 19:19

[Thanks so much for submitting this to the stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/779942253?t=04h20m23s) It was the perfect thing to round out the night as we were all tired and delirious.

I pretty much loved everything about this one. Super impressed with y'all's engineering skills here, and even if you didn't make the assets, I'd say you made excellent use of them. All-in-all this is truly an underrated gem!

omiya-games 2020-10-25 19:35

This was a really cool narrative game with some nice non-Euclidean space tricks being used. I really like the surrealism elements of the game, best emphasizing video-game specific tricks that's hard to replicate in other mediums. I did think the pacing of the game was pretty good, even if I was being a rude jerk testing every geometry early on when I streamed it.

The parts that didn't quite work for me (and these are nitpicks) was the fairly linear nature of the narrative. While I don't think the game needed more exploration bits -- what's there actually helps keep the story going at a nice pace -- I would have liked to see more dialogue bits and evolution in characters changing over the course of the day. There were a few characters that appeared to have some sort of background or story potential behind them, so it was a shame a large number of theme only had 2 or so unique lines to speak of, even when taking the insanity phase into account. I personally would have liked to see more interactive bits in the game, as well as any way to scroll back to certain dialogues I may have accidentally skipped.

Overall, highly enjoyable experience.

This was an exceptionally well-crafted game, I adore the art style and how the game slowly builds tension. I really wonder how you managed to do that impossible corridor haha. If you're curious how I experienced the game, here's me playing it on my stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzklvE5HZP0

Thanks for submitting! 😊

reallyqbert 2020-10-26 06:33

Excellent game with great graphics, audio and gameplay. All this in such a short time? Fantastic!

thegreenworm 2020-10-26 08:05

@philstrahl @coleslaughter @omiya-games @justcamh @jordan-kelly @elysiagriffin Thanks to all of you, watching people play this game live was a real treat ! Keep up the good work, and special thanks to Omiya for giving some great criticism. All the love !

ddrkirbyisq 2020-10-26 09:56

dang.

robonaut121 2020-10-26 19:40

If I say anything about this game I'm giving spoilers! Great game!

jrevel 2020-10-26 20:16

Great job, that game is amazing. It's the most beautiful 3D game I've seen in this jam, the audio gives a lot to the ambience, and the scenario is really well written. Everything has a great polish, I have seen no bugs, I got really catched in the story and the ambience.

I'll give you the small details I feel could have been improved : - At the very beginning, the text says "go to the right" to go to the receptionnist. I find it could have been skipped if the level design was changed just a bit. I personnally skipped too fast that text, and ended up going left... - having to specify that the accountant office is next to the administrators one has the same kind of problem, maybe just putting a sign would have allowed to remove it. But maybe you did not want to make the door different, because later they are reused and must not have any sign ? - The puzzle with the employees of the month is a bit too long to solve, I think it needs too much backtracking to be solved, and the colors (especially the blues) used are too close. I had to check a few times (meaning walking all the way to the other side of the corridor) a few times to check which blue I was supposed to find. It made me get out of the experience for a while.

Overall, this is one of the most interesting games I have seen in this jam. Well done !

thegreenworm 2020-10-26 20:29

@jrevel thanks for the detailed feedback ! The accountant's office location isn't obvious enough, I totally agree. And regarding the corridor, we just wanted to showcase the amazing job Bas Hoogeboom did on the non-euclidian corridor ;) But I 100% get your point !

pickens-inc 2020-10-26 21:41

What an excellent entry!

I mentioned most of what I'm about to say on stream when I played it but I thought it was a brilliant piece of interactive storytelling. I would almost have opted out of the 'fun' category were it possible, as this was a story and an experience more than an enjoyable piece of gameplay. That you managed to construct a complete and cohesive narrative, this small story that makes you feel like such a worthless cog that many of us have had to be, is very impressive for the LD.

Though you made use of the art pack, the original GFX and VFX you did do are not to be discredited. The environment was lovely, the use of shaders excellent. And of course, I can't forget the non-euclidean geometry, not only is it combining another interpretation of the theme into the already lovely one of being stuck in a dead-end job, it really helped serve htis narrative of chemical poisoning affecting our character's perception and mental stability. Completely seamless. Really enjoyed my time with this game, much as it left me sad. :(

As far as any improvements I can think of, I think perhaps adding something a little more compelling gameplay-wise could have been nice, like making cleaning more satisfying with a nice shine and sound affect with punchier effects, even if it would have had an adverse effect with the narrative. That and a minor niggle of changing the font and/or colour on the Quest UI. It was a little hard to read.

Very well done.

taffyko 2020-10-27 04:57

absolutely superb!! seldom can i say that a jam game's story had me genuinely invested and connected, but this one surpassed all expectations and had me hooked- doing a wonderful job of putting you in another's shoes, and of course at telling the narrative that ensued -- with the sound and visual presentation doing it all more than justice and coming together very cohesively, wonderful entry

danial-jumagaliyev 2020-10-27 10:08

So this is how it actually feels to be a janitor...

I got stuck on the first puzzle, so I had to watch the walkthrough. It looks as if a lot of work for such small time was put onto this, so great job!

superunknown 2020-10-27 14:33

This game was amazing. I really didnt expect the story to be so good...and so deep and thought provoking....really great job.

firetwin 2020-10-27 16:28

Wow, it's a more serious and insidious, version of Stanley Parable. Great stuff!

mikoziq 2020-10-27 17:07

Such a great game, seen on many streams as well.

I enjoyed the visual-audio aspect as well as very clever way of implementing 'looping' into the game. Stanley Parable makers would be proud to see it! And this felt even more humane and real!

It's also the perfect example of why you should treat all of your empolyees with dignity, otherwise you can get mopped-up (get it? haha, I'll leave now).

guimoliveira 2020-10-27 18:41

theend.png Great game! Good job. :)
