nostalgia game, nice
I'm not sure if it's my computer, but It says 'A Java Exception has occurred' when I try and open it.
@digitallimestone My guess is that you have an older version of java installed, I uploaded a version that is more backwards compatible (should be compatible with java 8+). Or you could update your JRE. If the problem persists, try running it in a console so I can take a look at the stack trace.
Looks cool, but the Mac version wouldn't open up for me at all. No error or anything :/
Nice twist on a classic genre, really efficient tutorial as well, would have loved some background music!
Ran fine for me. Fun little game. At first I thought that there were too many enemies, but I got the hang of it. Wish there was a scoreboard so I could see how I did/
Good twist on the snake game. Later on, the "boss" gets too hungry too fast, imo. Nice game!
That's great! Really nice adaptation of Snake - suddenly having a goal to get back to, and a reason to collect the dots made this super engaging. Would have loved to have a score at the end! Lasted just the right length of time, I think.
This is a neat, yet simple game idea. Clever use of the theme, as well as a solid adaptation of the original game. Cool!
Nice concept. I like the little easter egg in the menu.
Nice game, feels like a mashup of snake and slither.io
Pretty fun! I think it would have benefited from even some simple sound effects. The teleportation concept was hard to grasp imo.
It's a nice idea and fits the theme. I feel like the enemies were too strong, as soon as one was close enough from a food I would just give up this one, other than that it's engaging and works well.
I liked the idea, but the teleportation mechanic and inability to self-collide made the game feel really weird. The enemies spawning could've had a telegraph- I died a few times due to running near the wall when an enemy snake spawned in and colliding instantaneously.
There's a lot going on here and you're managing it admirably. I like that it seems that you really thought about the ramifications of the alterations you made to the basic snake formula, all feeding into the risk/reward strategy. (Like for example, turning back into yourself would have make the original snake very boring, but here not colliding into yourself isn't the main goal anymore. Or the way the opponents also die when they bump into your side, giving you a reason not to just try to avoid them all the time.)
That said, I do think the difficulty ramps up rather quickly, and the tutorial, while very welcome, feels decidedly unpolished. (The 'active' menu is a nice touch though!) Also my screen seems to dim when playing the game sometimes?
Could really use some sound effects as well. You can easily add these by using online generators like [Bfxr.](https://www.bfxr.net/) for example (requires flash to run!)
Really nice game and interesting take on classic snake. Only shame is that there is no music or sound effect, but art style is really pretty and clean. Had fun playing.
