Fun little game, love the art style!
It might be worth adding a "current task" so you can see where/what you were meant to be delivering if you miss the initial message.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD53 → Bullet Worm

The gameplay is a fun twist on the classic snake-style game, I like it! The graphics are very nice as well. Great job!
BULLETWORM!!! fun gameplay, best title
Interesting and fun concept, great music. I ran into a bug where the squares I collected increased the timer but did not appear behind me and I was not able to sell them.
Apart from that I really fun game.
The graphics look great. Game is fun. There should be an arrow to the pickup location during the tutorial, I did not know that I should have returned to the center to deliver the squares.
Wasn't too challenging, but sometimes it's nice to just relax and collect squares. Well done!
The zoom feature wasn't working for me :( Very soothing and straightforward gameplay. I was struggling to figure out the "deliver" portion of this game. I just kept getting bigger and bigger!
Fantastic, it's like a modernised snake.io kinda game that fits the theme perfectly. A lotta music to choose from is a fantastic touch and shows how much effort this game got put into it. The amoeba you control is a bit floaty and I feel it overrotates a bit, but other than that it's a very fun game. Well done!
I like this game a lot. After a bit, I gave up trying to deliver the squares and just tried making a chain as long as I could, ended up wrapping myself in it, realized that meant the "avoid" squares couldn't hurt me, randomly found my way back to the delivery pad, and ended up a score tally way bigger than I thought I would for just messing around.
Fun and visually stunning experience! The music sets a fantastic tone, and this game perfectly encapsulates the best and most satisfying elements of snake.io gameplay in an artistic way.
Very nice graphics and music. There's not really any challenge. Maybe if the black squares chased you and there was a real threat of loss there would be more of a "I could get a higher score if I get better at this" kind of feeling.
nice little game! was fun to try to get the worm as big as possible before delivering
A relaxing game that reminded me of the classic snake game. The control is a bit slippery but overall it's fun. Good job!
Great work! Nice artwork.
I loved all the colors and the gameplay was pretty fun! Reminded me of slither.io and I loved it. :)
SUCH SMOOTH GRAPHICS!!!! at first it was a bit unclear how game relates to the theme but overall experience was executed beautifully!!
it's so satisfying to collect many packages then sell them all at once lol, nice game you got! reminds me of the whole .io formula, the art style and music are really nice maybe multiplayer would make this more interesting, but I had fun and I had my fair share of jump scares dashing into a black square out of nowhere lol, good job on this one!
Great use of bloom and particles to give the game a nice polish :)
The movement was nice I found it was a good speed to feel in control.
I think a little more challenge would have been good and an indicator for where the delivery spot was in relation to my bullet worm. Maybe my sense of direction is really bad but it took me a while to find the center again lol.
That music is so perfect for the tone, I could listen to those tracks all day and night.
Good work :)
I echo what was said above, beautiful game, great polish. Let me collect and sell all day!
Pretty chill game though I felt like I was fighting with the turning a bit, like it could have been a bit smoother. I also wasn't sure where the delivery spot was for the first several minutes, so having an arrow pointing to it would be nice. The graphics are simple but effective. I like how the squares spin and feel alive
Most relaxed and colorful round of snake I ever played. The music greaes a relaxing atmosphere and the physics worked mostly smooth, except for sometimes when wanting to turn. The black squares are not much of a challenge, but it was already fun to just see how long one can grow and then curl up to wiggle that bulletworm booty, before delivering :D
This seems like such a chill version of Snake/Agar.io! I've always wanted to play a game as Bullet Bill too! Interetsing choice of music hehe. Great sound effects though! The neon-glow effect is mesmerising! This is so good, well done!
Graphics and style are *great!*
Love the turning. Don't like the forward thrust thing. Would prefer move towards the cursor with the mouse. Annoying to overfly the squares. Would be nice to have an indication of where the goal square is. Why not always zoom out max?
loved the controls and the art. When you boosted the bullet felt like it did it visually and that was a great touch.
Veryt interesting and nice to play. The art is simple but well used and the neon-glow effect is great! A good mood, fun to play so: what a nice game!
I like the minimalistic graphical style and in general, this is quite fun to play. I would prefer if the left/right control would be more direct and less overshooting but I guess this is intended for the difficulty.
Pretty fun! Nice and relaxing to just sit and collect squares.
Really nice vibe and gamefeel! Some of the nicest graphics I've seen this LD. For me the biggest challenge was remembering where the delivery point was - a UI marker would've been great. And it always said tutorial in the bottom corner – are there harder levels?
Really entertaining game, being a colorful worm made me laugh so much. I also really liked the how the colorful game is.
@tobiasd I wish I had marked the delivery zone better, it's the main complain. Next time 🤷♀️ The "tutorial" on the bottom corner is a only button to show the tutorial again 😋
Really cute game! After realizing my tail couldn't collide with black squares, I didn't suuuper understand what the tension is with holding more pieces at once - maybe go classic snake and have some self-collision? Either way, really simple and fun game, very well done!!
@drainkid you can even use them to shield you from black squares making you virtually indestructible. Nobody said holding more pieces was bad... 🙄
Hellow ! Nice game and nice control. The speed bost is satisfing. Maybe a self collision could broke the tail ? Nice graphic, simple but efficient Nice entry !
Really, well made. It is really satisfying to play. I found the controls a bit stiff.
This game is great fun! I enjoyed just swimming around collecting squares, and the fact that the physics gets weightier as you go (which I initially thought was placebo) is very satisfying. I do agree with the other commenters that there should be more tension to having a longer tail. Self collision would be good, and maybe if the tail collides with a black square it cuts the tail to the length of the segment that collided? Great game!
Well that was fun, your music and art direction were quite nice and the mechanics were fun to play with, (and sometimes abuse to hilarious results).
I think my only criticism is that there's no tell where the "base" is so you could get lost of you head out to far. Though that issue might be related to the fact that for some reason the zoom wasn't working when i played the web version.
This one feels so polished! Lots of nice features like the volume slider, a (DOZEN!) different music tracks, and a smooth tutorial that rolls out step-by-step as you play through the first section. The colors palette is nice, and the bright edges make it easy to spot items when you're cruising around quickly.
A few small changes you might consider are #1 not allowing the pickups to use colors that are too close to the black holes. I ran into a couple pickups that were so dark that I couldn't tell if they were pickups or black holes. Small change #2 that I'd prefer is to reduce the angular velocity when completing a sharp turn. The character continues to turn for a while after I let go of the key, and that sometimes makes it difficult to pick up the item I'm trying to get.
All in all, this is a very nicely-done entry and you should be very proud of this one!
The movement felt a bit off, like I was playing with some latency. It looks fun, but the turning rate just didnt work for me.
Very nice, love the simple graphics
Okay so it's just a generic incremental game with no challenge at all. I played for 2 minutes and nothing happened.
@chompdev The black holes are consistently spinning, so I won't really consider that as an issue.
@stingby12 exactly! It also has bloom and old music. The black squares are also incremental, so you could say that there's no challenge until 10 minutes in when it's impossible to move, but I think overall it's a very chill game.
I'm not sure I figured this game out really, I just kind of collected seventy or so blocks before running into a black one. I can't figure out where I'm supposed to be going... maybe some kind of HUD marker? The music is relaxing though and the controls feel nice, it's presented very cleanly!
Thanks for submitting your game to be played on the stream! If you wanted to watch my reaction again here’s the vod timestamped to your game https://youtu.be/0LdDwOAkfzc?t=6560
@ategon thanks for playing AND for the video!!! 🤩🤩
An interesting adaptation of the classic snake concept to the theme. The color palette and music are well matched. Although the visuals are simple, they work in the context of the game. But for me, the big problem with enjoyment was the superfluously slow pace of the game and tight controls.
Interesting game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 53 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. https://youtu.be/Q3lvQ8g3OHA
I love the simple but colorful and entrancing art style. Game is easy to learn and chill. I like that you can cycle through the songs. I wish there was a compass pointing towards the delivery spot because I got lost. It also would be nice if you added more enemy types. The black squares were pretty easy to avoid. Great job!
I was impressed with the physics of the worm! The game left me wanting for more progression of mechanics beyond just collecting and an ever increasing number of obstacles. Very clean and simple game, I like it!
