nice idea and also nice retro style. The music will play a huge role in this game ;-)

nazorus 2020-04-22 08:08

Inverse Arkanoid is a cool take on the theme  The game is fun and well made, I just had a hard time figuring out when I can add or reinforce bricks. Good job

kultisti 2020-04-22 08:08

What an amazing idea! Good work

toffanim 2020-04-22 08:11

haha liked the take on the theme :) Controls feels a bit jerky though and degrade with time somehow?

ruoyu 2020-04-22 08:12

Really nice idea. I like it a lot. The graphics is simple yet effective. The sound effect adds a nice touch.

I am a bit confused when playing the first time so some in-game instructions would help. You can also consider adding some strategic depth (different types, combos, etc) to the game to make it more fun. Also the UI could be a little clear whether you are on a cooldown or not.

vivoubos 2020-04-22 08:12

Innovating game. Maybe more instruction will be better :p (like click on brick to heal , and click on the "enemy" to use the spell)

Funny game, but can we lose? Sometimes, I have no bricks left and still win ^^.

Good job.

brandon-js-lea 2020-04-22 08:18

I'll be honest, I have no idea what's going on in this game.

barelos 2020-04-22 08:23

The game, UI and style are great, I could not figure out what are the rules and when can I add blocks/reinforce them. Amazing art and UI flow for such a short time

linx 2020-04-22 08:24

Interesting twist on a classic :) Maybe you could have added a bit more depth than just to add different actions or feedback on whether you can add blocks or not, but good fun nonetheless.

xart2012 2020-04-22 08:32

to Faber: i planned one, but not done in time.

to Nazorus, Ruoyu: planned some animated icons, but was too late to implement it.

to Toffanim: i'm sure some not found in test error still in game.

to Vivoubos: yeah, still no gameover here: )

xart2012 2020-04-22 08:41

thanks for comments, just done some instructions to game description: )

xart2012 2020-04-22 08:43

to Linx: time gone just too fast! )

linx 2020-04-22 08:44

Yeah, the same happened to me :) Good fun anyway, nice job :)

edalbung 2020-04-22 08:59

Really original and nice concept ! First I had difficulty to understand fully the game, I think that it misses some visual/UI feedback, in order to know what happens in a first glimpse.

But overall, nice work !

xart2012 2020-04-22 09:23

to Edalbung: yeah, planned some visual, but not done in time.

dmars 2020-04-22 15:04

Clever twist on a classic. Good pacing.

100th-coin 2020-04-22 16:28

Oh, what a cool idea! Great work.

mvanbaalen 2020-04-23 01:37

This is genius! I was really enjoying it until it seemed like the enemy got stuck on the wall, and let me clear several levels in a row without doing anything. But still, I'm really impressed!

xart2012 2020-04-23 03:10

to mvanbaalen: yeah, some error in game, that i didn't got in time.

joemag 2020-04-23 04:06

Very interesting take on the theme. At first I wasn't totally clear on what I was supposed to be doing. Also after I got it it felt like I wasn't able to heal walls I should have been able to. Just needs a bit of clearing up for the player. Good job otherwise!

whatnamegames 2020-04-23 04:58

Fun game, the sounds add a lot of personality and the art is done well, I like the little intro animation too. : )

cataclysmicknight 2020-04-23 05:37

This is SUCH a unique game! I had no idea what the heck I was doing for the longest time because I didn't see any instructions anywhere, but once I realized that clicking the bat does my power-down to it and that I could click on the bricks/blank spaces to add/upgrade bricks, it was cool.

It seemed like every time I clicked the bat (when the powerdown was available) it ended up being unable to hit the ball, but I might've just been timing it really well

xart2012 2020-04-23 05:43

to CataclysmicKnight: yeah, no instructions in game, but i put some right here, in game description. when i understood, that my game realy needs them: )

splitpainter 2020-04-25 08:46

5-stars for innovation and theme! I think you nailed the concept of the theme pretty well with this one, it was kind of mind bending for me.

shugor 2020-04-25 14:16

really novel idea, took me a while to figure out how to beat levels but i got there. good entry!

trigueiro 2020-04-27 10:17

I really enjoy the reverse roles kind of play. Good job

wans24 2020-04-28 11:27

Small and nice game with fun twist. Liked the simple graphics.

n-feofentov 2020-05-01 07:07

Very interesting idea. For now some upgrades are useful (faster ball) and some are useless (almost every another one), but that's just a matter of balance. And sometimes click on bat doesn't work. Nevertheless, good job!

themadprogramer 2020-05-02 22:16

Could use a few more instructions (your tutorials you later added here on the submission page are nice), but once you learn the rules it's very enjoyable.

zennith 2020-05-04 04:53

This was a pretty neat idea for a game! I appreciate the addition of the instructions in the description, I had a similar issue with my game needing a lot of instructions :). I did notice some bricks getting destroyed somewhat randomly. Not sure if this was intentional or not. Either way, great job!!

xart2012 2020-05-04 13:26

@zennith, bat have a prize, that breaks all bricks, they all decreased by one.

lmb 2020-05-04 21:46

Best take on the theme I saw so far! Really nice idea!

avi 2020-05-05 03:45

Nice mod on brick breaker!

kschmidt 2020-05-05 04:15

Cool twist, without the instructions I would have never figured out that I could tap on the bat to do things - I would suggest using bars that shrink instead of numbers counting down when you can use the block refill or tap the bat, and also some sort of "flash" or indicator when something is available to use. Maybe even some confirmation when you use it, like "stun!" text that fades out when you activate it. Overall a fun compo entry, nice work!

xart2012 2020-05-05 15:29

@kschmidt, yes, you are right, and i planned some, but time is out: )

xart2012 2020-05-05 15:29

@lmb, @avi, thank you! )
