Nice Entry.
Game needs a lot of work. Wish you could walk diagonally. Also needs a bit more instructions on how to play.

Nice Entry.
Game needs a lot of work. Wish you could walk diagonally. Also needs a bit more instructions on how to play.
This could be a nice game, but it needs some additional work on tuning and polishing the controls. The current key mapping makes it difficult to control everything with just two hands. Given the actions available to the player, either consider making the game controlled only by gamepad/keyboard, or mouse+a single cluster of keys.
Keep it up dude.
Interesting game. When i fired the arrows towards the enemies it did not hurt them from what i could see. Several play through i could not get too far because i could not get rid of the enemies. Great looking game though.
The arrow keys + mouse is a bad combo, consider adding WASD control as well. Sword could be swung with Space also. Some music and sounds could bring some more life to this, especially since it's an action game. Consider adding text or dialogue within the game to better explain the gameplay. Good job and keep it up
You have to rate more games! And a title image or screenshot could also help people find your game, i was worried as well, but do this and it will work! The game felt a bit cryptic, if you played it for the first time, because i didn't understand what i have to keep alive and what i was suposed to do. It could help to give a little more visua feedback about what is happening. Also I would add sound. Some minimal music and a view soundeffects and the game feels much more alive. I liked the visuals, especially the tree. I have to agree with the other, that its dificult to control, wasd would be beter, but that all aside, its a finished product and for a while its really fun to play! Well done, keep making games, keep submitting to ludum dare and good luck!
Solid idea, needs a lot of polish. Controls, as others said, could do with improvements. Tutorials are also nice, but lots of LD games miss them and put them in the description. Read up on the rating system if you want more votes! Rate other people's stuff and you'll get more ratings. Leaving good feedback also helps. Make sure you participate in the community! You currently have more ratings than you've given, which is better than most people. You can learn a lot from what people have done. All the compo entries have source code, so its' worth checking them out. Lots of people use the same software as you, and it's really useful to check out how they made their games.
Firstly, nice entry! I think that there's a lot of promise here. Some suggestions: make movement WASD, and add in-game instructions. I was finally able to figure out how to buy arrows and med kits after a while. I think that mechanic needs to be rethought a bit so that it's a bit clearer what's happening. Some sfx would go a long way here. Keep it up!
I actually think the walking to the left and right animation is pretty cute. I think you know that the game needs a lot of polish, but I am glad you submitted it. Just a few critiques:
1. I am not sure the ctrl to turn directions worked. It didn't seem to do anything for me 2. The bullet is gigantic, I dont think it needed to be that big. 3. I would have preferred that the right click attack aimed toward my mouse, not my direction (maybe if ctrl worked this would be better) 4. I think labels on the GUI would help me a lot with understanding what is going on.
Neat little game! I didn't manage to fill the plant bar since I needed to collect a lot of purple blobs, but it is a fun game! I liked it
This is a good start! It has nice pixel art, a cool walking animation, and some promising mechanics that just need some more work. I would add/change: WASD movement, make sure the arrows point in the direction of velocity, more intuitive interaction with the nurse and merchant (a pop-up that says, "Press E to purchase"). I found the combat difficult since the arrow was hard to aim and I couldn't buy more. I got the idea of the game eventually and think that this could be quite good with some extra time! Great start, I hope you keep it up!
As far as I can tell, there was no audio.
Sprites were cute (and evil), I found it very difficult but I put a bunch of blobs into the blob receptacle on that tree! I liked the large play area and general visual design.
