Too bad there not a "game name pun" category, I'd rate it 6 stars out of 5 =D
Very awesome game, loved it, it was nicely challenging to reach the bottom! I had a hard time understanding that the fishes' color represents the way to handle them, and once I did I still died once because I spent too much time defending and not enough going deeper. I still don't really know what positive effect the bubbles have tho ^^ (and what's the point of moving into empty rooms, you don't seem to be able to repair them?)
The game is balanced, it was enjoyable! The only thing I'd add would be more visual indications of what's going on, like radio signal sucessful response, fishes starting to go away, the fact that you'll be able to buy upgrades only once, etc.
Overall, I really liked it, especially the UI art and design was perfect! Those buttons, sooo clicky <3
Really nice idea! It will be better if I understood the mechanics before, nonetheless great game.
I like it. In the beggining it feels like a clicker game, where you just have to get as much gold and upgrade your stuff, but then once you are all geared up there is a nice challenge to reaching the bottom, took me a couple of tries. One thing I would like to point out is that I enocountered a bug where if move a crewmate on and off the ghost module, it stops working for the rest of the run.
Excellent gameplay. I love the crewmate animations
Always died right at the edge of 11.000. Took me a while to understand all the weaknesses. There seems to be some problem with stations being bugged and not working sometimes, or atleast the effects not playing. Because of that and overall lack of feedback and very subtle health bars the game was quite opaque and difficult to grasp. But after understanding all the rules the game was very fun!
5/5 for the name and logo design. The art overall is really nice!

Wooow such a good art style. And of course I love dancing crewmates.

Lost for words.. The game's amazing! The idea, the art, the implementation: all great! The fact that its not a 1 time play, and you can replay but have upgrades changes everything.
One bug I found though was that if I buy a crew member before buying any module, it gives me access to the light and food one, even though I didn't buy it.
Overall, GREAT GAME! 5/5 art
Captura.PNG Dude! this game is awesome! So polished and gameplay take me trapped like 15 minutes until I finished. Great progression and fun to replay every time with new upgrades. I can't believe all the work u done on this game. My first 5 star to you ***** PD: As a UI Artist, this button are beautiful <3
This is great! The game design is really well thought and complete, every mechanic make sense. The pixel art is very cute too. I liked having to choose between keeping a guy to go deeper or using all my crewmates to fights the fishes, it makes some interesting gameplay decision.
I think maybe the feedback for wich fishes are currently under attack could be better, and maybe add some logic to why each kind of fish is affected by each module. (The one who fear light could be a creepy anglerfish or something) I couldn't never remember wich module affected each fish so I tried all modules everytime :D
Really great work, congratulation!

Art is incredible on this game, really loved it ! Really fun game and the mechanics remind me Faster Than Light
Amazing Art style and UI Work, I love the idea of delving deeper in the ocean and the game design being like a roguelike where you keep coming back! I do feel some additional guidance on the gameplay mechanics would help greatly :) Overall great job

Awesome game! Really like that the game is divided into two stages, when you need to collect gold and then use special upgrades to achieve the goal. Also I like some FTL vibes I've found in the game and really nice art makes me love this game. Congratulations!
Graphics are incredible
Hey !
First, congrats, the game feels super polished, love the pixel art ! Since good feedback needs to include criticism , I found a few issues/bugs:
* You can trigger modules you haven't bought, at least visually :
Fish'n'Ship_o6B29ysCbX.png
* Sending oxygen did not really seem to work for me at least, I was running out of O2 before the enemies would fuck off.
* The visual feedback for when a fish is damaged by an effect displays behind the fish sprite, so when there are many of them it's hard to see what's effective and what isn't.
* When too many fish attack, the sound overlaps and it can hurt a bit
* Gold quickly becomes obsolete after a few tries, wish you could upgrade some rooms or the ship's durability so mining/using the radio stays relevant.
Anyway, it's still a great entry, loved playing it !

Nice game! Took me a while to realize there was a type of fish who only swam away if you stopped moving, as I used one crewmate as designated captain haha. The artstyle was great and the general feel of the game very reminiscent of FTL, good job!

Great job for this game. A little tribute from FTL. The visual is enchanting and the handling is super simple. Very good work. Do not hesitate to come and see our game.
Super boulot pour ce jeu. Un petit hommage de FTL. Le visuel est enchanteur et la prise en main super simple. Très bon travail. N'hésitez pas a passer voir notre jeu.

Good job on the game! Nice idea, pleasing graphics, cool upgrade system and well polished in general.
@sodaro ohhh I did not realise that at all. Thought you had to push that fish type away with the oxygen module. That explains why it took me so many attempts to reach the end
Great work! Very nice art, good rewarding concept. Had fun playing it :) Only the click sound was slightly annoying :)

A very cool game once you understand how it works!
Blame is partly on me, since I didn't read the instructions until after I beat the game . I thought having a guy on the oxygen module slowed down oxygen consumption, but turns out it was actually making it drain faster. Some visual indicators for that would be nice, like a red arrow pointing downwards on the oxygen meter. It wasn't really clear it was actually shooting out bubbles scaring all fish. Maybe having it active should add a semi transparent status icon to all fish to make it more intuitive.
The status icons sometimes appeared behind other fish, making them hard to see.
The graphics are very polished and pretty. Adding some music and more sound effects would definitely enhance the overall atmosphere.
Other than that I had fun playing this, well done!

Great job! The game looks good, the sound choices are good (however the noise that happens when the fish attack is layered so it can get a bit loud.) I like the gameplay mechanics a lot! I think its a great idea. I did have a small issue once I bought the sound module it didn't appear untill I closed the game and then opened it again. Also sometimes I will put a crewmate next to the sound module but it won't work. Regardless I had fun and I think you did a great job with the time constraints. With a bit of polish and more module upgrades this game can be amazing. Well done!

I really like the game. The graphics is great. The gameplay is similar to our game, so great. And of course it fits beautifully on the theme. Nice entry.

Very enjoyable game with lovely art style, starting to hit 9k on the depth-o-meter after a couple of tries and tipps. Did not know fishes can be so mean
I wanna start by saying that the art is incredible ! These crewmates doing some kind of Jojo poses are cracking me up.
The gameplay is simple to understand, it's fun and just a bit challenging. I didn't really get what the air blast module did as it never scared the fishes away, or maybe i was too afraid of using it for too long. I don't really get the point of the radio station module due to its price. It's supposed to help you get more money, yet it's the most expensive item in the shop. Feels kind of counterproductive in my opinion.
I was just not a fan of the sound. Any kind of music would have helped a lot and i must admit that the sound effect was just in the wrong frequency for my ear and i had to turn it off.
Great job overall ! This was a really good game !
I think the bubble module only frighten fish when the ship is not moving. Once I noticed that I was able to reach the bottom.
Very cool game, very fun to play and overal very well made. The graphics are awesome (Love on you DaaWeed). The only thing I could critisise is I feel like the game is lacking explanations, and context inside it. It feels a little akward to be forced to read the description entirly to be able to play. But I guess in the duration of the jam and given the complexity of the game, you were lacking time to do so!
Fun game that definitely lures you to play further with its upgrades. Some of the modules here are pretty unique, and I didn't expect the core gameplay to be about countering weaknesses which is pretty novel. Gives me shades of Octopath Traveler in that regard.
I didn't look at any guides when I went into it so I mistook the airblast as some kind of oxygen generator so I avoided it in my final runs. I could make it 90% of the way there playing without it. I eventually checked back here and saw my folly though.
I did like how gold becomes obsolete over time. It's like a worker placement game and you free up workers as certain things are no longer relevant to your goals (in this case, the miner and the radio). So I thought that was really neat and you could play into that even more in a full version.
Good stuff, the game looks great and I'm always a fan of fishing/mining stuff.

Really love the art style and the feel of depth with the with the nice bg sprites. Wish there was more upgrade levels. I got stuck half way down with plenty of gold and lack of the skill to manage my crew properly :P. Beside that, really good job!

I really liked this one. The art is appealing and the gameplay is fun, like "Lovers in dangerous a spacetime". With some extras to the mechanics, like more modules or the possibility to move the modules wherever you want you have a solid game.
I really enjoyed the game, but too bad it required the player to check the doc on the website. I didn't understand the oxygen repeller on first play, and thought it allowed me to get more oxygen or something... Also, not sure if I used the Radio room properly, as I didn't have any success feedback. Anyway, I still played the game and enjoyed it :) Also, loved the game title ;)
Very polished game !
The gameplay is fun, the shop system works well, the characters animations are nice. I think there is two drawbacks : 1. It's not very obvious how much damage you take. The first minutes of the play I didn't see the health bar. Maybe add an fx to show taken damage. 2. It's not obvious what is the weakness of the fish. I would like an fx or animation to show me if the weapon is working or not.
I'm totally agree with @elendow , this game remember me (in a good way) "Lovers in dangerous spacetime".
One of my favorite game

I liked the game overall, nice graphics and animations. I like the upgrade system but I felt like there were too few upgrades and I could just bought them all without thinking too much. I think it lack some feedback when we "hurt" the fish, at the moment we don't really know if what we send to their face has any effect and that would be my main issue with the game.

Great entry, I was thissss close to getting to the end. One thing I noticed is that near the end I was still moving even if I didn't have a crewman on navigation.
Well done!
Cool game and nice visual style. I think some modules didn't work properly, because I could already use them before I even bought them. This game could do with some more audio, maybe some music, and some different and more varying sounds, as they got anoying after a while. I think the shop was a really good idea, because it made the game addictive, especially for a comletionist like me. And I also liked the way I could coordinate the crew and the tasks. I would have found it cool, if I better understood, which fish I can get rid of how, maybe with some color- or symbolsigns, that indicate which attack belongs to which fish. But really great job!

This game is truly amazing. Both the arc style and the game mechanics are really cool. Issues that I encounter: - for me the oxygen release to scare fish did not work, - I had to stop the ship to influence the fish, if I did not stop, the fish were not scared no matter what I did, - the sound effect could be improved, - I wish there was some music, - gold was too easy to get. Beside that, rgeat job on the game!
Excellent work, the game is pretty fun to play, and you did great with the art direction! I just regret that the gold upgrades aren't that worth as we can get all the upgrades really fast (but it's really not a big problem x) ). Great work overall, well done!
this was a really awesome game that workes perfectly for ld48. i could have played longer but i want to try other games. this is one of my favorites. thanks for making a great game.
What I liked the most are the UI elements! I like it when buttons and icons fit the theme so well. Very well polished graphics, and interesting game.

Ok, the art is just awesome. I think it's a bir hard to understand the mechanics and how to actually play. Once you get that out of the way, it's a fun game to play. As others pointed out before me, the gold is quite easy to get, it would be nice for it to be more challenging. Nice job!

This is one of the best games I played in this LD. It's super fun. I wish there was some kind of indication which module is effective against which fish (some icon above the fish? or better yet, making the station icon the same color as the fish?) because with a lot of action happening on the screen it's really hard to focus on remembering the color codes. As others already said, gold becomes obsolete when you have all the upgrades, so there should always be something to upgrade. Maybe you could upgrade everything indefinitely, but the next pgrade would always cost twice/thrice/... that much. For the attack modules, each upgrade could improve the effectivnes a little. That way, even worst players would eventually finish the game.

@ondy1985 Thank you for your feedback, it's a good idea the more or less infinite upgrade ;)
The art in this is great, really cute and feels so polished. Liked how it eases you in to the gameplay and how as you upgrade the modules and learn about them you can progress further. Would be nice if you could use the money you collect after you've bought all the modules to do cosmetic changes to the ship, e.g change colours of the different rooms or something just so you'd have something to keep using the money on.
