LD25 — You are the Villain

ARM: Alien Research Mission by Hume 2012-12-17T17:39:00

I developed some sort of a QWOP-like rhythm and was able to successfully propel myself forward the first time I played this, but was unable to do anything besides immediately crash and burn on subsequent plays.

Mad Princess by AdventureIslands 2012-12-17T03:31:00

Really solid game, very coherent aesthetic style.

Minor nitpick: I wish it weren't possible to set traps during transitional states between levels (I kept accidentally clicking on them/setting off bombs during the "you win/try again" phase).

You Are the Machine! by apophenia 2012-12-17T06:05:00

Well, poopy. I just discovered that the crashing bug doesn't just trigger on gameover screens, it appears to trigger on some timer expirations too. I think I know what's causing it; I might upload an additional version with a fix tomorrow.

You Are the Machine! by apophenia 2012-12-17T19:59:00

@ChainedLupine has that happened in the middle of a level, or does it only happen between levels? Because if it straight-up happens in the middle of a level, I have even bigger problems than I thought. ;D

You Are The Ghost Beta by boxerbomb 2012-12-17T07:06:00

Mmm, the actual gameplay session is quite short & difficult. Nice take on the theme, though.

SOPA V.S. TPB by jtoper 2012-12-17T06:15:00

"This is a game where you are The Pirate Bay"... SOLD.
Would be great to have some more "feedback" (via particles, etc) to tell me I'm damaging the SOPA cars. I didn't notice that the SOPA hoods were smoking until I'd already been madly clicking on them for a while.

ETGA! by Graf_Grun 2012-12-17T07:21:00

Dear God, what did I just play? ;P

Decommissioner by Crowbeak 2012-12-17T05:56:00

Oh man... I've tried to play this four times, but it keeps crashing during various different points of the robot simulation. I'm not sure what's wrong... I'll have to bookmark it and try again later. :(

Decommissioner by Crowbeak 2012-12-17T06:16:00

@Crowbeak I might make a video of myself playing it tomorrow if that would help. It seems to crash consistently during the simulations whenever I make a typo, or the next command after I make a typo(?).

ECHO CHAMBER by Loren 2012-12-17T07:30:00

Difficulty could stand to be raised a bit on subsequent levels. Trying to figure out how damage is actually calculated.

Weapons of Mass Construction by dan.jeffrey 2012-12-17T04:26:00

Really like this. Haven't gotten all the way through, but one thing I notice is that if you're given two of the blue guys, you can almost always destroy H.E.R.O. just by putting them in the two adjacent squares next to the portal that deploys him.

Also would be cool if the spikes displayed inverted when hovering underneath a surface to make it easier to visualize.

Goombah! by johndb 2012-12-17T07:03:00

Cute!

RPS Battle by LogiQ121 2012-12-17T06:22:00

Fun little game. Kinda difficult to rate since I was pretending to play against myself, but I think I got the gist. I wish the sprites were a bit bigger, though... the animations weren't half bad, but the occupied such a small portion of the screen.

Enemy of the State by Arcantic 2012-12-17T06:32:00

1) Is there supposed to be sound? I'm just hearing some occasional geiger counter-esque clicking. Oh, there was one when I was killed... (I think that's what happened).

2) Is there a way to see how much you've been injured? Or know when you're nearing death? I can't tell if the game is running in the correct resolution. It seems like I can run into these guys several times without dying, but I don't really know if I'm "taking damage."

Sir Mastery of Dickery by Xheis 2012-12-17T06:47:00

Pretty funny. I also had jumping issues. Couldn't get past the house.

Villanus Haerfest by LenardG 2012-12-17T06:42:00

Enjoyed this a lot. Will probably come back later to finish all the levels. Nice goat cameo!

Totally Unqualified Getaway Driver by kerneltrick 2012-12-17T07:10:00

Cool game with some nice functionality. Like others said, it's worth bringing the engine noise down a bit. Hitting the sidewalk is also a pretty big pain; I got wedged between two of those grey things and it took me ages to maneuver out.

Praelia Solus by rftr 2012-12-17T08:02:00

Really fun game, but I found it a little difficult, especially re: the cost of some of the items (some seemed like a way better deal than others). Also, the ship went off the left side of the screen one time, and never came back. o_o;

Shorty & The Big Deal 2600 by Suese 2012-12-17T04:08:00

Interesting game, but I found it a little difficult/tedious to get to the next level. I refreshed twice after accidentally converting some of my goods the wrong direction and gave up on the third try. It was pretty tough to remember which houses have which deals -- thinking of other games that utilize this mechanic (Suikoden III, etc), there's usually some sort of way you're tipped off as to where you found what trade after it's been discovered.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Untitled (Make up a name?) by apophenia 2015-04-22T11:23:00

Thanks for the encouragement! Unfortunately, there is something very very wrong with my copy of Tiled + this version of OSX, so I'm unable to recover functional copies of the rest of the levels. I am currently trying to hand-copy them into new files and see if that helps. I really don't know what's up; it doesn't seem to be a known issue either!
