LD27 — 10 Seconds

Rabbits and spaceships ! by rianoto 2013-08-28T17:51:00

It was a little hard to figure out exactly how often you could eat or use oil. Once I got the rhythm figured out, though, the game became quite fun. For a small game it plays quite well. Good job. My only suggestion would be to add timers or indicators of how long it is until an action completes or can be done again. Good job.

101 Tiles 10 Seconds by matpg 2013-08-30T14:40:00

Excellent puzzle design, it's just a bit too hard. There's an appeal to having a difficult game, but in a board with so many pieces to be only able to get a few is infuriating! Good game, it's just if you made a mobile version or continued work it would be nice to tweak the dynamics just a bit.

10 Sec And Slash by NostraDamon 2013-08-28T17:21:00

Wonderful. It was difficult to get used to switching back and forth between the characters, but that was my issue. The last level had just a little bit of an annoying factor, but besides that the design was superb. Wonderful implementation of the theme. I've seen a few other "10 second life" entries, but this one was the best implemented and most interesting.

Clocked In by rylgh 2013-08-30T14:54:00

Cleanly executed, very cool idea, evil, evil game. Good job.

10 Second Tai by Teejay5 2013-08-30T14:19:00

Great game. SharkNATO indeed...

10 Second Tofu by zerocreativity1 2013-08-29T23:36:00

Very unique concept. Excellent execution. Great gameplay, except for the fact (as many have already mentioned) that the directional switching of the tiles was very finnicky. Other than that, fabulous entry. I absolutely loved every second of it.

10 10 Second Game Design Lessons by douglasv 2013-08-28T02:05:00

This is so enjoyable, and yet so shaming. Really well done. Meta-games are great.

The Aliens Came (10 seconds to choose) by porglezomp 2013-08-26T13:58:00

An excellent entry. I think the timer would have been better if it gave you a sound for the 5 second warning or something.
The visuals were quite consistent with each other and the story was extremely well done.
Nice entry.

Duel by zlowrance 2013-08-30T14:27:00

All in all quite fun. I didn't like that I couldn't change my mind once I'd clicked a card, but that's life. Well done.

Absolute Time by FredrikAkerblom 2013-08-29T23:58:00

Excellent entry. The central idea was fairly unique, which was cool. Enjoyable to play. Great job

Liquid Zen by Deadlyapps 2013-08-30T23:12:00

Intriguing game. It was a little awkward, but still good. Nice entry.

Gauntlet: A Series of Ten Second Strategies by OkayHughes 2013-08-28T03:16:00

@Beardbotnik I did set the backspace key to delete the last waypoint. To the best of my knowledge I haven't had errors with that. Did you try that? Otherwise I don't quite understand your bug.
@OldPeculier I've added a bit to the html file that says the controls. If you're asking about the point to the game, in the compo version it's to avoid death. The game starts in planning phase, click to add waypoints, and after the clock counts down, the cube will move to that waypoint. Backspace deletes waypoints.
@asc3nsion Once again, I explained it above, so if that helps great. Otherwise I don't have a screen capture program. Sorry. I'd love to make an explanatory video, but I don't have the tech. As for the camera, I've considered doing that a few times, but it kept bugging out. I may attempt to implement it in the post compo.

Gauntlet: A Series of Ten Second Strategies by OkayHughes 2013-08-29T03:29:00

Occasionally I have to click Q twice to get the layers to work. I don't understand how clicking the background helps. Which builds are you having trouble with? If you use the qq method, web works fine.

FOOD! by Pabakal 2013-08-30T00:33:00

This was a bizarre game, in a way. It was simple, but was enjoyable. The trouble with simplicity is that it can get monotonous really quickly. If there had been just a bit more variety I would have enjoyed it more than I did already. As it is it was excellent for a first LD. Good job on that. I'm sure as you get more experience with game development your Ludum Dare games will become very cool.

Royal Defenestrator by BasmanovDaniil 2013-08-29T02:47:00

My parents probably think I'm crazy, what with yelling "Noooooo Don't defenestrate me!" every minute or so.

10 Seconds Before the World Ends by Lustdante 2013-08-30T14:34:00

Great gameplay in this one. I really enjoyed the interaction between the player and physics. Unique. I found that the fact that the player died upon merely touching the fire kind of annoying. Overall great game, though.

Hurry UP! by Sense 2013-08-30T15:08:00

Polished, good feel, great game. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Good job.

Graviteer by Linusson 2013-08-30T14:07:00

Overall I enjoyed the feel of the game. The physics were nice. The game was deliciously hard, too. Not much to complain about here. Good job.

10 Seconds to Loot ALL the Things by Muznak 2013-08-30T23:18:00

Quite polished as games go. The game had a nice feel to it, and was quite fun. I don't have anything much to complain about. I think my favorite thing was that you didn't automatically die after 10 seconds. That was a pleasant change from some other games.

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-08-30T15:00:00

Graphics were spectacular, gameplay was well thought out, but pleasantly difficult. Excellent entry.

Realities by frameland 2013-08-30T00:08:00

Fantastically elegant and beautiful game. Absolutely breathtaking. I just wish that there was a tiny bit more to do with interaction. The feel I got from the graphics and audio was an immersive ambient feel. The up-down interactions just made me feel a little disconnected from the scene. I'm not sure what I'd put in as well, it's just that the interaction as it is made me feel a little out of sync with the game. Beautiful entry none the less.

Control Freak by no_Face 2013-08-30T15:20:00

An odd sort of game, but nice. I wish that there was an AI mode, but 72 hours is 72 hours. Very intriguing entry.

Pistols at Dawn by aherbez 2013-08-28T02:35:00

I love the interpretation, but yes, shooting is a bit odd. Finicky and a little inconsistent. Overall a very nice entry. Very clever.

Treasures of the Decimaze by phaed 2013-08-29T22:47:00

I thought that the idea of switching every ten seconds was nice, but inverting the other maze seemed just plain mean. Diabolical might be more accurate. It added something positive to the game (I'm not quite sure what), but also added an annoyance factor which isn't usually good in maze games. Overall a fun entry.

Ten seconds to doomsday by bizn355 2013-08-29T23:03:00

A timer would have been quite nice, to let people see when the round starts. The trouble was with the colliders, I found. The pieces would go flying all over the place, in a way which didn't seem intended. The pieces didn't seem weighted enough, if they were meant to be protection against meteors. For the most part a fair strategy was to try to get the crates and such as far away from the citizen as possible, so they wouldn't send the citizen flying without the meteor's help. Overall, I played this entry for a longer length than I did others, and thus it was fun, but there were a fair number of bugs and design flaws that limited the enjoyability of the game. If it were just a bit more polished I would love this game, as it is I merely enjoyed it. Good entry.

The Lonely Sentry by namrog84 2013-08-30T15:15:00

Fun concept. Not the most innovative I've ever come across, but enjoyable. Sort of cute in a way. Good entry.

Project: "Explosion" by Simple Ghost 2013-08-30T04:16:00

The graphics are spectacular. I like the simplicity of the geometry of the maps. Goes well with the outline shader. The explosion is really well done, as are the puzzles. I agree with the people in the comments that the pre-bomb should be faster. I like the slow-mo during the bomb. It's totally vital for dodging debris after the bomb's gone off, it's just that slowing character movement down before the bomb just makes me want to smash my keyboard to bits. I appreciate your artistic decisions, though. Excellent entry. Very fun. Challenging, too, which I haven't said of too many things.

Time Annex by kratorspore 2013-08-26T03:35:00

Excellent entry. I loved how totally the theme was incorporated. Truly amazing.

Alcheminion by bigbadwofl 2013-08-28T17:39:00

A very excellent entry, except for the fact that the theme wasn't really incorporated. The soundtrack was terrific, and the gameplay was quite fun. Very well done.

Beth & Maggie by kebabskal 2013-08-30T14:44:00

The voiceover was nice, but if you die it repeats. Once it goes through once it should stop, or you should be able to disable that particular blurb. But as you said, 48h is 48h. Good game. Visually stunning.
