Wow! This is so good! I hope my game is this polished. I like all the aspect of the game. The design is clean and fun. The sound fits wonderfully well. 100/100!
Haven't played but... love the art style and the polish. Once I get on my Win machine tonight I'll revisit.
This is a great game! Lots of fun and beautiful art style/animation. Great job!
Awesome game, love the concept, feels great to play and even just the phone alone is such an awesome addition!
@joskerdu I exported the game to HTML5 so that it's easier to play it for non-Windows peeps!
Thanks for HTML5 version.
constructive feedback: I picked up a rock and threw it to the ground, went down there to pick it back up to throw it and it killed me after picking it up (not sure if I dropped it immediately or what).
positive feedback: I liked the theme! Clever how you made the colors change and music pick up after I engaged the first one. That kept the energy up! Good sound effects and animations. Overall a great project! Awesome work.
I really like the pixel art of your game. Great work.
Cool aesthetics and sound, the chat mechanism was a bit frustrating for me ^^
Cute little game; sometimes I jumped when I didn't want to and I wished that when I was on the higher panels in level one that it was designed so I could run off of them and land on the ones underneath. I often found myself sliding off of it and falling past everything.
I like the idea that you need to stop chasing your objective to keep a conversation alive. It could be read as a thinly veiled commentary on the importance that phones have to most people where even when their dog is loose they're checking their phone and replying to messages!
Cute 1bit graphics made it feel like an old Speccy game and the music loop was totally fine on repeat. Cute little game. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your entry!
I managed to find a few ways you could die: rock falling on you the moment you spawn in the level, letting the chat die, landmines (all the ones I discovered so far). I didn't manage to understand when I could start texting but I figured early on I had to as it was probably another way I was going to "lose". I did experience in one game on the second level, the mine blocking one route and the rock blocking the other. It looked pretty much impossible to win that attempt. There was also the odd periodic lag in the game.
Besides that, I really liked the game, the graphics were cute and coherent all the way through, and the dialogue that you had in the game was funny. The clear art style and simple obstacles focuses on the key aspects of the game, the platforming, without being a detriment. Definitely worth a look by people.
Fun game! The movement feels nice and I like the simple graphics. Took me a while to understand how to play the game and how to type on my phone, but when I got the hang of it, it was really fun! I just love smashing every key on my keyboard!
fun gameplay, smooth movement, good controls.
Nice job
Fun stuff! I like that the theme is represented in two ways. It confused me a little bit that mines were not active whenever I entered a new level but haven't picked up the dog yet (but the rock traps were active!). I think it would also not hurt the gameplay to actually show the number of messages (as well as the limit at which the game ends) even when my phone is not out.
At first, as I was typing, it was not really clear to me what my typing does, since sometimes I re-opened the phone and my "score" was at 0 and my message count was also at 0. I think showing a little graphic like "-5 :envelope:" whenever you close the phone would help to convey what just happened a lot.
The dog looked a little bit like an elephant to me! I get that it has a black nose, but that black nose is also as black as the background! The music variations were nice and made the game feel a little bit less repetitive. Good job!
Hmmm, I'm not really sure how I feel about this. This is an insanely well made game especially considering the time constraints, and I enjoyed it, but there was just this sort of nagging feeling that something wasn't quite right. And I think it was the controls. Maybe it's my computer, or the HTML5 version, but my movement felt painfully slow for no real reason. For something so based around platforming, the actual platforming felt pretty lackluster to me. Also, I don't know if it's just me, but arrow keys to move and space to jump just doesn't feel good. Maybe add an option to jump with the up arrow or change movement to WASD instead. Overall though, the graphics were excellent, the music was fun, and the core idea was very creative and excellently implemented. I'd love to play this again, hopefully on a machine that's a little more capable.
Might actually be one of my favorites I've played. It was hilarious, and I loved the music. It handled having a bunch of different mechanics in a simple space really well.
Cool theme interpretation. There was a lot of polish, and I quite liked the simple aesthetic. All the different mechanics made the game feel really hectic as well, but in a good way.
There are a few small changes I'd make that would help a lot.
1) When you get a new message, maybe along with the envelope show the count of the total number of messages waiting. 2) Show how many messages are going to be removed when you send, because it can be hard to do the math when you're mashing keys and in a rush.
Nice job!, smooth movement, simple graphics, in some cases the bad elements didn't kill me and mi score 20
The theme is original and the game is polished, simple but cool, good job.
The dog sprite was my fav :dog:
