LD46 — Keep it alive

Birdie Burglars by DDRKirbyISQ 2020-05-08T01:56:16Z

Those animations were delightful! The controls seemed awkward at first, but once you get accustomed to it, they were super smooth.

Mark by Corny 2020-05-05T13:51:21Z

Might actually be one of my favorites I've played. It was hilarious, and I loved the music. It handled having a bunch of different mechanics in a simple space really well.

Cactus Adventure by Tamas Turi 2020-04-21T19:32:46Z

*daylight dance starts* 5/5.

Controls were admittedly wonky, but I was charmed, instantly.

Icy Mountain Hot Potato by Turncoda 2020-04-27T21:16:57Z

Struggled to get 10 and I'm looking up there at the guy who got 48. Apparently I have a crippling need to git gud. Super fun take on the theme! But I do agree with folks who felt like the player jump needed to be just a bit higher.

For Ducks' Sake by GaryS 2020-04-30T19:09:22Z

That was hilarious! I eventually died due to the unending wall of gnomes. I couldn't kill enough of them! I see on the bug list that there are some collision issues on right side of screen, I think I may have gotten stuck on the left wall in those last few moments though. Great game!

Save The Fish by Lishnor 2020-04-26T17:15:40Z

This was super cute and fun. Though the camera was the bane of my existence a couple of times in there.

None left Behind by Pirhana 2020-04-27T20:39:31Z

Really great way to stick to theme and the aesthetic of the game is fantastic. My only real frustration is going all the way back to the start room each death. That made it apparent how slow you really are.

StarShip Hamster by Maytch 2020-04-21T21:17:46Z

Adorable, perhaps a tad easy, but adorable, and a blast to play.

FLOWER by ShivArt 2020-05-05T22:59:21Z

It is as the description suggests. The visuals are gorgeous and I love the music. It's all mood.

Star Keeper (Ludum Dare 46) by Cobear25 2020-05-05T14:44:35Z

It was fun, but I felt that it did not do very much to plant the trees to protect the planet, but maybe if it progressed further I'd feel more incentive. Great job!

Cats In Flats by Black Flag 2020-04-26T22:49:20Z

Really funny! I apparently suck at it, and managed to get my chair flung across the house. Oop.

Shelter by Aaron Taube 2020-04-21T14:58:14Z

That was absolutely a feature, not a bug! I looked at is as being a "crabs in a bucket" situation. If they are on each other they will lash out. I think the one thing I would have changed there, given just a bit more time, would be to add the logic that if there is a clear direct path they would continue to chase the player instead of attacking, that way it's only the one's that are stuck in the back that start swinging at the other zombies.

Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!

Shelter by Aaron Taube 2020-04-23T22:52:20Z

@slimbun did you mean no animations or would prefer it more animated? The animations are only a few frames each and definitely not as prominent as we'd like(artist is mid finals, so we agreed to keep it very minimal), but they should be present. Are they not rendering for you?

Shelter by Aaron Taube 2020-04-24T00:21:00Z

@slimbun that's really troubling. Wonder what's causing that, when I play on itch they are definitely there. Thanks for the heads up!

Shelter by Aaron Taube 2020-04-26T21:53:36Z

@bajtix Holy crap that looks a lot better! I honestly didn't even know about that setting. Know if it's ok to update that?

Bomber Escort (or boomer escort) by thatOtherNerd 2020-05-02T23:38:53Z

The slow movements struck me as a really interesting choice, though it feels very much like you can only do so much to help your bomber. I wonder if you could keep the game slow, but do some visual effects to give you a sense of speed.

Keep Them Away ! by SpaceStrawberriesStudio 2020-04-21T19:31:29Z

I hate to echo previous sentiments, but I did enjoy playing the game. Need to be able to get to catapults way faster, and the mouse target thing is definitely annoying.

Ball Monster by marrero171 2020-04-26T22:55:04Z

Definitely cool concept! I see the buggy browser version though. I had to get up to do something real quick and when I came back I was unkillable, but I also couldn't progress the game. Other than that, something about using space to throw instead of jump I just could not get my brain around. Think I would have preferred mouse click for the throw, but that's me

The visuals are great and I actually really like the little bit of bob to the camera. Main thing I felt like I needed was some more feedback in the boss fight. I died several times from trying to figure out if there was something more I was supposed to do in it.

Graceful Planet by 3ago_ 2020-04-23T21:56:08Z

The visual effects were remarkably polished. I especially loved how responsive it felt to tether and drag the planet, it was really well done.

The Dark Cave by Tom Stephenson 2020-04-23T22:49:49Z

Was really cool seeing the Limbo vibes from this. Hated having my light source get stuck early and become difficult to lure. I wonder if keeping that with you would be easier with a clap mechanic? The procedural animation of the spider is obviously amazing, especially in such a short time, and while some extra polish and variety on sound would be nice, this is a great proof of concept.

Catch The Mouse keep it alive by GameOverMexico 2020-05-05T13:58:06Z

Was so confused when I got killed by the cloud lol. Also not sure if it was intended, but the flying pig got turned around and wreaked havoc on the rest of the game for me, ended up on on part with him and my little autospawning mouse just thrown into an impossible blender D: I think what might help with dealing with the randomization, is rather than autospawning, have the option to click to spawn or another button to spawn, that way the player can wait as long or as little as they need.

Social Distance Enforcers by nosfer 2020-04-25T15:30:30Z

Definitely one way to do a rhythm game, lol I would include some sort of penalty for missing, for sure. It was weird having almost a damage effect happening when you messed up but no actual penalty other than perhaps a lower score.
