LD25 — You are the Villain

Kill'im by syawqy 2012-12-18T19:37:00

Hmm, awesome idea, however I was able to win within 5 waves by just spamming the pink guys.

Robbert by JuiceBox Entertainment 2012-12-18T03:14:00

Sorry! The download link is fixed now. :)

Robbert by JuiceBox Entertainment 2012-12-18T06:40:00

Sorry about the screenshot. The bag and bow were removed for now, and you do not need them to cross the roof.

Robbert by JuiceBox Entertainment 2012-12-18T07:35:00

To combine, you can select the items in order you want to combine them and press the combine button. The correct order starts with selecting gun first and ends with selecting the bullet last.

Robbert by JuiceBox Entertainment 2012-12-18T07:58:00

Is it the sequence of selections that you seem to be getting stuck on?

Robbert by JuiceBox Entertainment 2012-12-18T08:29:00

You will need more then just the gun and the bullet, there are items that need to be selected between those two.

Artificial Incompetence by Tigerbot 2012-12-18T18:53:00

Not too bad!

Agree with others about jumpdrive being spacebar spamming. Also, did anyone manage to beat this? Seems very hard, tried 3 times. Around halfway the minigames occur so often that your ships barely get in any attacks at all.

Btw, gravity has to be 're-aligned' in outer space? :P

"I Never COULD Get The Hang Of Thursdays..." by Zed 2012-12-20T01:46:00

Loved certain mechanics of the game but there was quite a bit to read at the beginning. Nice Work indeed.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Dig Hard by petey123567 2014-05-03T21:27:00

Love the arcade style; fast-paced, polished, action games are always a delight to play on LD. One of the best LD entries I've played so far.

I managed to beat it on my very first playthrough with laser guns shooting straight downwards; not sure how I managed to do that because I couldn't do it again for another 20 tries.. but I eventually managed to beat it again without the laser guns. I really feel like the core (boss?) should have done something, though. I feel like an epic boss fight was in order, not just one-hit-kill. :(

Either way, very great work.

Threading by fakeyou 2014-05-03T19:22:00

Very interesting idea, but I felt like most puzzles were actually unsolvable (unless I'm doing something wrong). The backside always is missing 1 circle, and sometimes (all the time?) that forces you to lose. I even had a board full of greens and a single red before, when it asked me to connect the red, of course I lost. Either way, it seems like there is always going to be an odd number of some color.. Is this actually beatable?

I also noticed, after a while, that there is white text on the screen after you run into a losing move. Pretty much impossible to read, only noticed over the bits of the colored circles.

Great idea that could turn into a really fun and unique puzzle game. Some relaxing music once this is polished up would be a nice touch, I think.

Installation ZA-3 by Flai 2014-05-04T00:13:00

"Sorry for shortness and lack of content"

Haha, never a need to apologize for something like that in an LD. Very good work.

Fellow Mole versus Raccoons Thieves by ramoncb 2014-05-03T21:04:00

Game worked fine for me on Windows 8 x64 laptop w/ nvidia card. Game looks like a nice start, some polish, sound effects and additional content would go a long way. Camera work needs polishing, too.

The attack animation kept glitching out and the only way to reset it was to get hit by an enemy. Good thing I didn't have to actually kill them to beat the game.

Bunker Down by JuiceBox Entertainment 2014-04-30T00:43:00

Thanks for the comments so far guys, we'll definitely keep on working on and improving the game, although I don't think we can upload it here anymore.

@Katamori, make sure you're using the mouse to dig, also you can only gather stone if you haven't purchased the pickaxe or drill yet.

@Woo Sang Hwang, thanks for your comments! There's a small chance that the map could have spawned with too-little resources, as we don't guarantee any specific amount. There's also the fact that the bombs will destroy resources as well. Did you remember to scroll the map downwards?

Bunker Down by JuiceBox Entertainment 2014-05-04T00:22:00

Thanks for the supportive and helpful comments thus far, it means a lot!

There are some known bugs that will be worked out eventually (several of which we've already squashed).

The controls will definitely be improved, we realize how slow and awkward it can be at times, and our aim is to make them intuitive and responsive. Placing ladders and digging will likely be moved to key presses instead of clicks, as well.

The building aspect of the game is something that we really need to work on and reinforce. We realize there isn't much need or complexity for it atm, but we're toying around with a few ideas to encourage construction in different ways.

The explosions of the bombs were also not meant to straight-down only, they were meant to be radial, however some issues arose with deciding how a block absorbs part of the explosion at an angle; so, we chose to do it this way for now. We will likely change the explosion shapes to be sideways, or plus-shaped (bomberman style) or a combination of all.

Dream of Depth by Cirrial 2014-05-04T00:05:00

I love the complexity of this game, very interactive. Although, I feel like a bit too easy. I was able to simply win on my first try but pretty much spamming the attack button. I feel like the units do way too much damage; on another playthrough I amassed about 20 units and had them attack, and they destroyed all of the enemy structures and damaged the core on a single dive.

So yeah, some audio and balance tweaking, and fixing some minor bugs that you already know of, and you have a really great game on your hands!

Goat Guzzler by rorycooke 2014-04-30T04:08:00

Love the art and game play such a nice combination, lots of fun :)

Mr Tibbles Lost in the City of R'lyeh by Udell Games 2014-04-29T22:06:00

Very nice game, the graphics were nice, the audio fit the game and mood perfectly, and the gameplay is very smooth. The instructions don't show up when you click the 'How to Play' button (I see Objective and Controls but can't click them), but I managed to figure out how to play fairly easy anyway.

The game only felt really playable, or winnable when I got the upgrade to 4 Action Points, as that allowed me to manipulate my distance from the basic enemies, which wasn't possible with 3.

The UI is wayyy too big, and covers up a large section of the play screen.

I didn't find any health-restores either, which sucks because it kind of nullifies the max-health upgrade.

Great music, very relaxing; definitely a game that makes you think, so good job on your idea and execution. Overall I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I really wish players would have the ability to rotate counter-clockwise instead of just clockwise. One small addition that would help this game go from good to great, IMO.

Sub-Surface Walk by LewisG0400 2014-04-29T22:36:00

Nicely done, you should stat you need to click to break the blocks, and I can verify it works on linux.

Dark Maze Escape by A.W. Apps 2014-05-03T19:14:00

Definitely could be great with a bit more work, fighting was difficult with the movement system. Also, due to the random generation, the maze ran me into the end block before I was able to get any keys or allow me to access the rest of the maze (it was blocking the way), so I got stuck with nothing to do.

Cave-In Jumpin' by BasselGaming 2014-05-03T19:30:00

Make and submit a Post-LD version!

In addition to some of the other things that have been said, which are all really good ideas.. I found that jumping was slightly glitchy; when on top of a rolling block or being pushed by one, I often couldn't jump at all. Otherwise, too easy, made it to 120+ before I decided I probably wasn't going to die soon; difficulty needs to ramp up.

Once you implement the pickaxe usage, our game will have quite some similarities. :P

Digging for Gold by JoshDBB 2014-04-29T23:05:00

Love the puzzle design :)

HammerHead in the Sea of Monsters by LTyrosine 2014-05-03T20:25:00

Very nice, fun, addictive game. Definitely shows the large amount of work that went into it.

I really feel like ammo should be increased, or there should be more slots for upgrades, or certain types of upgrades shouldn't take up a slot. With these limitations, I was forced to go back to the shop very often at the beginning (I played for a long time). Mostly, the ammo was a problem; there was no point in being able to go for longer, deeper dives when you can still only kill 1 or 2 things. And there was no point in going for longer dives when you don't have the ammo to back it up. I felt like the balance on upgrades wasn't quite reached.

The laboratory took up a slot on my ship for far too long I think, after I got all the upgrades, not knowing I had all of them, I let it get to 500% before I realized that nothing new was coming.

I eventually managed to reach the ocean floor. It was beautiful. Nice dark atmosphere at that depth. No new monsters or piles of carcasses from previously slain monsters waiting for me though, pity.

Some bugs; I sold all of my weapons to make the afore-mentioned journey. Obviously this rendered me incapable of making any extra money for more weapons, forcing me to have to restart the game. Also, I managed to beach myself on the land on the right side of the map, leaving me unable to move.

I thoroughly enjoyed the graphics, including the models and animations. I really liked how the crab-squid thing would try to surround and grab you with both of its claw-tentacles, and pull you down. It was very frustrating, in a mostly good kind of way. Good work there.

Some music and sound effects would definitely take this to another level.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Thrive by JuiceBox Entertainment 2015-12-18T11:28:00

Sorry guys, we're working on the issues. We lowered the screen size and fixed the start button, so hopefully it should at least be startable now, however we're still trying to fix some in-game bugs that are also making the game difficult to play.

You should be able to get past the starting screen now, though!

Longbeard by Joe Williamson 2015-12-17T12:01:00

Great Idea, very creative. Enjoyed watching you make this on stream.

Good music, great art, great concept, everything fits together really well. Some sound effects would be nice, and a few of the buttons were difficult to press.

A pity that some features cost you too much time to put more content into this game. Hopefully there's a post-comp version coming?

World Grower - Growth of the civilization by rhebsgaard 2015-12-17T12:28:00

I mostly agree with what the other comments have stated. That being said, it's a fun little game and very similar to what we did this LD! Although I think your game is a lot more complete. Good job.
