really nice art and pretty satisfying gameplay. really like the animation on the arm when you grab stuff

did you compose the music in the time given as well?

jaeliinah 2021-04-27 01:19

Swimming around and grabbing fish was never so fun. ^^ My only minor nitpicks would be navigating the main menu feeling weird, since you need to press enter, but in the game you end up needing to use the mouse instead. And the How to Play was a tad difficult to read at times. Otherwise, the actual game part of the game is very fun!

Great concept and well executed. Easy to grasp and replayable. One thing to note is that the words on the tutorial screen are very hard to read, and the arrow on Research Points made me think it was a button for some sort of upgrade page. Loving the art style Well done :)

philipprapp95 2021-04-27 01:25

Nice simple art, did you draw everything by yourself?

fedegelo 2021-04-27 02:21

I love the art style! The music and the sounds effects are good but they seem maybe a little bit out of place? The sound may be a bit loud. But overall the game feels quite good and looks lovely.

jamie-simpson 2021-04-27 11:27

@diabolical-sloth music was composed by LGM (link in the description of the game)

jamie-simpson 2021-04-27 11:28

@jaeliinah thank you for your feedback! the tutorial was a last minuet effort much like the sound effects, so unfortunately it's how it is :frowning2:

jamie-simpson 2021-04-27 11:32

@unbansheee I thought the arrow could cause some confusion, thanks for pointing it out

jamie-simpson 2021-04-27 11:32

@philipprapp95 yes i made all the art during the jam!

jamie-simpson 2021-04-27 11:36

@fedegelo I agree, the sounds are out of place and that's my fault for leaving sound for the last minuet

Nice little game, I liked how everything seemed hand-made. The only slight problem I had was that from time to time I would clearly see a fish being caught, yet it wasn't. Still, it is a nice game.

jamie-simpson 2021-04-27 17:29

@seeko-studios thanks for playing! I tried to fix that bug but it was too time consuming so I had to skip it.

I love the 'art' of this game, its MS paint at its finest but it adds to its charm. the lighting effects and darkening of the water as you go deeper were also on point.

nsadie 2021-04-30 04:46

A fun little game! I went down REALLY deep and did not find anything there! Would be lovely to have some interesting creatures at the bottom!

too-lazy-cat 2021-05-02 10:13

I like the graphics. Was that intentional style choise? Since that's pretty much the best i can draw.

jamie-simpson 2021-05-02 17:26

@too-lazy-cat yes it was a intentional choice, I chose this style because it took me very little time to do the assets so I could focus on other things.

notexplosive 2021-05-04 04:04

I liked the doodle style of it all, particularly the tutorial. I wish the arm were a bit more flexible (like maybe if it rotated towards the mouse?). I loved how each time a shark chased you it had some cute remark trying to lure me in (almost worked!! very persuasive). I was able to farm a bunch of points when I discovered the edge of the level where a bunch of fish were crowded up.

hamzaplayssssssssss 2021-05-06 15:24

really really really really really really really coooooooooool

vixenmink 2021-05-08 01:42

Nice and simple. Keep it up

I enjoyed the art a lot and the mechanics were great. I had a small issue of the game being slow (the reactions to what i did), but tbh I think that was my notebook's fault, so I'm not holding that against you. The hand-drawn art was so cute and I liked catching the fish. :)
