Overall a fun little jam game. The visuals is pretty good. The game could have used a bit more sounds in the beginning of the game. I also found a bit difficult to mining because I always got attacked.

Great job guys! I really liked the game. I was a little confused on how mining worked but I was able to figure it out. I think the concept is great and it is a great jam submission!
My initial thoughts were "aww I can see why it's named happy submarine, this is cute", easy to say those weren't the same as the ones I had when I finished the game  I kind of felt like the game was about to end at depth 700, when I had already maxed out the damage upgrade. Cool entry!
The mood is great on this game! I kept getting jump scared! I think the UI needs a bit of work but this was fun!
Thanks for participating in the jam!
Hello fellow submariner. I liked your submarine art, was cute. The missile was good too. I feel like they could have fired a little quicker, and adding a bit of animation would go a long way.
It was neat you were able to build out an update mechanic with currency, well done there.
I also liked that the enemies got harder as you got deeper.
Nice work!
Saw a lot of submarine games, but yours seem to stand out more to me. Really like your progression system, where you have to collect different types of crystals that spawn at lower depths. Was also caught by surprise by the horror-like atmosphere, and when my first enemy appeared in the darkness suddenly behind me, I actually got jumpscared. Good job!
Nice one, mine was a submarine game also! Lot of fun and brilliant mood!
I feel like you have something here, but it needs some balance. It needs some indicators on how to use the shop, and how to mine when you first load in. But with a little tweeking it could be a nice challenge. Also I loved the sound getting creepier the deeper I went, and the sudden switch of the light was kind of nice too.
Well, expectations subverted, I guess :) You created a really dense atmosphere here, great job on that! The change in visuals and audio is really creeping up. I would've loved to see a more satisfying ending, but it's okay as it is. I'd suggest making the upgrades get bought when clicking on the icon in addition to just the price, that really confused me at first. Also, some little texturing or effect for the water would've been great to inforce the feeling of movement. And continued shooting while holding the button down would've been nice. The flashlight mechanic is pretty awesome though, it made the mining process quite nerve-wrecking! Really enjoyed this overall, great eerie game!
Overall this was a great entry! I agree with most of the other comments as well, the music really set the mood, and the gradual darkening of the environment coupled with the flashlight made for a lot of tension. The ending was kind of sudden once I made it there, however. But overall, still a great little game!
Nice entry! Atmospheric and quite fun. Some more sound effects would have been great, maybe when a monster comes in range, a warning sound? The UI was slightly confusing when buying new skills, as the icons look like buttons, did not know I had to click on the crystals!
Nice little game. The atmosphere was great, made for some jump scares as I got deeper.
Took me ages to figure out that you need to hold RMB to mine, an onscreen prompt might be an improvement.
Love the art! As others have said the atmosphere here is my biggest takeaway
I really liked this game! Even though it was not what I expected from the art and name ;) I liked how the flash-light effect made you nervous while mining. I think a water-shader could've gone a long way in adding movement on the screen but a game jam is a game jam! Is the map randomly generated?
This game has a really compelling atmosphere. I was initially annoyed that mining took so long, but it ended up being an important mechanic when enemies started appearing. It was very cool how after zone 2 or 3 the game started occluding enemies outside the vision cone!
Happy submarine? A fun submarine game? Well, damn it, maybe. Jokes aside, the second part of the game is intense. That is why it is more interesting. The design of the fish is seemingly simple but intimidating. The flashlight implementation is fine.
One of most atmospheric game of this jam.
Best atmosphere I have experienced so far! I was jumping so much, very well done making such a scary environment with such simple graphics! The sounds and the darkness together made it perfectly creepy. The end could have been a bit more exciting, but I can imagine that didn't fit within the time limits.
Great job, I will recommend this to some friends as well!
This game seemed simple at the start but kept me playing for quite a while (800m+ by which point I couldn't find a way to go deeper that easily). You have created a really good mood. I was captivated by the near horror-game-like atmosphere (I gave you a good rating for "Mood"). As I progressed deeper and deeper, I felt more scared. I feel the audio effects were a bit subtle, so try and increase their volume so they can have a greater effect. I liked the graphics of the fish and the submarine, but the water and rock could use a little more work. You could add a few extra visual effects to add some detail. The cone of vision was really good and added to the horror-like vibe as I was terrified to see that massive fish coming right at me just as I was getting near collecting a crystal. Obviously your game meets the theme well so well done on that point.
Some notes I made was that I didn't appear to lose any crystals when I bought an increased depth upgrade which may be because I purchased it from an earlier station. Also, the cone of view is cool as I said, but it jumps when you turn 180 degrees/over the main axis. I had a third one but I forgot it so nevermind :). Actually, here's a third thing: you could make interacting with the world more visually obvious (like a drilling animation for example).
Overall, this is a good entry but some polishing would definitely make it better. Well done!
