LD44 — Your life is currency

Once Upon A Plague by icxon 2019-05-01T23:33:06Z

I love games like this! The mood was exactly right and it was not easy to make a choice between having more health or more power. I feel the same about the controls as the other commenters, please don't deselect after move and maybe allow multiselect and -move somehow. Also, the camera moved a bit too slow. In any case, good idea and very nicely designed!

Blutgeld by garethiw 2019-05-07T19:31:15Z

Looks awesome! Indeed, I missed sounds, but other than that it was quite complete. The atmosphere was very much like an old FPS. I got through level 12 but after 5 or 6 rooms, the door stayed shut. I checked three times if I forgot to kill an enemy, but there were none left. Don't know if it was a bug or just the end of the game.

HeistLyfe by benmcnelly 2019-05-06T19:42:15Z

Very funny game, loved the yoink! Not easy though, at least if you go in unprepared, which I did the first five times. In the last game, I prepared my heist into the slightest detail and managed to yoink 409 monies! Woohoo!

Space Rescue by LogFlames 2019-05-03T23:02:40Z

I love this type of games! I died a lot in the beginning, but then I understood it better and started being able to put massive amounts of turrets which let me survive until the end. It felt maybe like I got too many turrets for my money actually, also the interface showed 1 but I got 3. At the end, I had 100 turrets ready to put, with 50 placed, so maybe the turrets are a bit overpowered for the price now.

It would be nice to always be able to move the camera. Now you can only turn the camera when holding the gun. Picking up souls was a bit difficult with the explosion effect, which was nice, but you cannot see if you got all of them. Maybe just increasing the distance from which you can pick them up could be enough. The sound effect was great though when I picked up massive amounts of souls!

I enjoyed this game a lot, nice work!

The Branch by Poffle 2019-05-05T17:33:10Z

It made me laugh so much! Especially Mildred, who reminded me of a real bank employee in my nearby branch. Excellent voice acting and facial expressions! I could clearly see on the faces of the other employees that they had a tough time working there. It would have been nice to interact with them too in some way. The game felt a bit short, and the dialogues a little too long, just a few more people to shortly interact with would have made this even more entertaining.

Very original game and ideas, especially balancing with the arrows and typing those key sequences. It took me a while to realise exactly how to do that, and even then I was still bad at it. But I managed to take that selfie in the end! Probably after 50 tries, so it was quite satisfying. I still need to manage to get through the next level though. Nice work!

Trinket Town by Flightless 2019-05-01T22:19:32Z

I loved the simple but very effective atmosphere! After dying multiple times just from the start, I began to understand how the world worked and started stealing like a pro. But then I got too greedy, especially when one of those fast, white blokes passed. Very important find the right balance, I enjoyed it a lot!

Pak de Robijn! Oh nee, het is de Tovenaar! by oprel 2019-05-01T21:43:59Z

I loved the music and the atmosphere! The worlds were beautifully designed and I was intrigued to find out what was coming next. Heel mooi gemaakt, gefeliciteerd!

Super soul wipeout by Korteh 2019-05-04T19:05:40Z

Totally loved it! So many levels! I really wanted to get to the end, so I played and replayed it and felt I was getting better every time. A small thing, the lantern blocked my shots half of the time, I think when I walked opposite of what I was shooting at. Shooting and walking in the same direction circumvented that problem. Once my guy was suddenly floating above everything, but I managed to get him back on the ground. This is an issue we also had in our game.

Great game! For me one of the best I've played so far!

Deep Space by Curled Leaf 2019-05-05T22:59:17Z

Beautiful game, great atmosphere and voice acting! Loved it! I got the false impression I could get things 'solved', but all I got was a big mind-fuck. I played it twice (so actually 6 times) to fully understand what was happening. It's a bit like The Stanley Parable - In Space, where I also didn't get from the beginning that the game never really restarts.

Absolutely amazing, I played it again just because it gives this very realistic lonely space feeling! The fact that you couldn't interact with much just added to this, as well as getting just "east" for direction. This gave it an extra survival touch! The only thing I missed was the link with the theme; are you paying with your life every time somehow? I didn't understand that, but then again maybe that was also part of the mind-fuck.

Battery Life by Attala 2019-05-04T17:51:00Z

Jeg elskede dette spil! It looks beautiful, and it's quite relaxing to play. It could fit right next to Portal and The Talos Principle, if the puzzles were more complex (I realise that's impossible to make in two days). Different types of machines aside from conveyor belts and doors could already make the puzzles more interesting and challenging. The enemies were well tuned, not to easy, not to hard, they fit perfectly in the calm environment.

I'm sure you already have ideas to extend the game. Here are some things I think could make the game even better: - dark parts in the level, which you can see for a while when you power their light to know what's there - faster opening exit doors - make battery charge locations slightly easier to access - make doors not take more charge than necessary

Tillykke!

Coin Puzzles by Mika la Grand 2019-04-29T22:21:18Z

Very original idea and nicely designed! There was one small moment where the button wouldn't go down at first but eventually it did. Some more puzzles would obviously be nice, but you can save that to release some DLCs :)

Keep Dem' Sick ! by VuvuzuellaInc 2019-04-30T23:06:05Z

Very simple, but original concept and nice art! Amazing how I got annoyed by patients getting too well! It took me a moment to completely understand how to play, but when I did, it was very nice and addictive. I wanted to win. It was sometimes a bit difficult to get the cart in the right position to get the money, and as said in other comments, I would have preferred to see all the patients at all times, or hear them when they get better or worse. C'est un très joli jeu, mes félicitations!

Sand and Blood by Pedro137BR 2019-05-05T23:46:38Z

Nice pixel art, sounds and animations! It's a simple game but good. I also found the map somewhat too big; maybe just something pointing in the direction of the box could solve this. Just as @papaver, my blood level didn't go down on purchasing the second weapon and the enemies stopped moving. I just carried on to find the last hearts after that, so I got to the end. Would have loved just a little animation at the end to show you made it, but of course I can imagine time constraints were probably in the way.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Diggy hole by someone 2021-05-08T22:50:32Z

Nice work on the character AI, amazing pathfinding! It took me some time to understand when they started to work, but after a while I did and it was nice to see all of them digging into a huge gold vein! Apparently, I was lucky to find one close to the chest.

I would suggest fewer or smaller air pockets, or an easier way to travel straight up (ladders indeed), because it's a lot of work constructing stairs if you fall 20 layers down.

A last remark is that the buttons didn't always lit up when I clicked them. The game was also quite heavy in contrast to the low number of things that were happening. I'm thinking that can be the reason it didn't register my clicks sometimes.

Overall, very nice game, I would love to see it further extended, with possibly some kind of goal to work towards.

Mandahlia by MicroChasm 2021-05-05T20:01:35Z

This is a lovely game, it felt like being part of what I can best describe as a musical stained glass window. It is also easily understandable and the animation at the end is just gorgeous!

The Space Between Us by LaneDavis 2021-05-08T17:29:24Z

Great game and a very successful combination of humour and tension! I liked the conversations, although I have to admit I could not always follow everything as I was too busy repairing. I feel like playing it again, just to hear the parts that I have missed. And to solve that one puzzle I was unable to solve, you know which one I'm talking about!

Monster journal: a short story by Fenderbate 2021-05-08T17:39:59Z

Nice art and sounds. The actual game is a bit short, but feels complete and the controls work flawlessly. Anyway, it's always a good sign when a game feels too short.

Murder on 34th Street by DanyVk 2021-05-08T10:24:23Z

The mood in the game was exactly right! It sucked me into the story and made me want to investigate everything into the slightest detail.

It would be good to just have the ability to skip the slow typing of the text, so that you can see the whole text immediately. It's nice at the first time, it gives the feeling of interrogating, but when you want to re-read, it gets a bit annoying. Aside from that, walking around felt a little too slow and picking up evidence was sometimes hard. Also, I tried a few times to incriminate someone, with five items on the table, but nothing happened when I pressed enter. What could I be doing wrong? I would like to know, because I'm curious about how it continues from there.

Very nice game!

Happy submarine by Rubyes 2021-05-08T11:15:40Z

Best atmosphere I have experienced so far! I was jumping so much, very well done making such a scary environment with such simple graphics! The sounds and the darkness together made it perfectly creepy. The end could have been a bit more exciting, but I can imagine that didn't fit within the time limits.

Great job, I will recommend this to some friends as well!

27500m drop by Szkocka 2021-05-08T15:48:00Z

This was the most addictive game for me so far! I wanted to get to the bottom so badly. Don't know how many times I retried. I appreciate your tactical decision to restart just by pressing R, this was all I needed to get hooked. And I made it after all, nice ending, I felt very satisfied to reach it!

I think you did a good job with the controls, they were not easy to master, but that's exactly how the game should feel. I actually didn't find anything that looked unfinished, very nice game!

Untitled Simulator by Eugenik 2021-05-08T21:38:01Z

Very original take on the theme! I also learned a lot actually. Sometimes dialogues were coming back when I asked the same question. It could have been funny if the answer would have taken that into account.

Into the Forrest by frompdx 2021-05-08T11:57:29Z

Very courageous to try and make an RTS game! The battles work very well and the sounds complete the atmosphere. And I managed to make it towards victory, always feels better when you get there!

There are a lot of bugs, but that is obvious when you make such a game on your own. Most bugs I have already seen in other comments, but I had another one that wasn't mentioned yet. When you are placing a tower, it already starts shooting.

Adding some kind of limited resources could make the game more complete. Not necessarily gathering, just an amount that should allow you to achieve your goal of clearing the woods. Now it just feels unlimited, so it is only a matter of time.

Overall, good effort!
