Good concept. But it's hard to play tbh, speed of subtitles SOOOOO SLOW. I know, it's all about atmosphere... but still, it's just not interesting to sit and wait till something.

Oh really good idea) Great graphic style and color design) I have relly fun to play this game! Thank you)

The concept, the art and the music are cool but as previously commented it is pretty slow, some may like, others may not but still a cool game to play

danyvk 2021-04-27 18:25

@kro thanks for the feedback. We implemented click for faster text!

Interesting entry! I love me some detective stories and this one is pretty unique. Presentation is almost perfect – maybe could've been a bit less high contrast, but this style nevertheless is everything. Gameplay-wise I had some problems: First of all, I couldn't accuse a person I want – only the wrong ones. Enter just doesn't work if I collect all the right clues. Do I miss something? Second – text and walking pace **is** a bit too slow, even after the update. Not a big problem, just some quality of life fix you may consider. Other than that - solid idea. I wanted it to be deeper (get it?) but it's fine as is. Maybe you can elaborate on that idea and make a game about rearranging the clues on crime seen, not just collecting them! That could be cool.

@fiedgeling93 nice idea to rearrange the clues on the crime scene!!

Yes, it is a bit buggy, we got caught up on time, fix coming soon :D

First things first: Why don't you have a nice screenshot from the game here to attract players to try it out? And if you don't have a cover image, you really should fix that too.

Now about the game. I really liked the arty style and high contrast, but I found many things confusing. I could not accuse anyone, enter wasn't responding. Also a visual dot/circle/crosshair to be able to locate things. Now it was quite annoying trying to get the hover text. Then picking things up, I'm pretty sure the game said to click, but it was right-clicking for me. I would suggest either would do and if one needs to bring the object to the table (?) then perhaps better to have a click pick up and a click drop rather than needing to hold button down to carry.

I liked that the game was basically black, white and yellow, but the text really needs a border or shadow because it was near impossible to read when over white surfaces.

The style was great, and it might be a really nice detective story, but I really couldn't progress more than to have a look around the apartment.

@local-minimum ty for feedback. We found it useful and we'll try to fix it

I could see this becoming a really great game! If I may make some criticisms, the actual text in general was a bit annoying, specifically how it was hard to see at times and the actual dialogue moved super slow. That and the fact that it was a bit hard to interact with things, I ended up accidently dropping items and struggling to pick them back up afterwards. Other than those few things, the game is actually really good! I liked the very simplistic style with just black and white with the yellow to signify objects with importance, that and the music which made a good atmosphere around it! On top of that the story and concept is super interesting! With some slight optimizations this could seriously be a fantastic game!

Love the idea and the art style. I think this has some real scope for a larger game with some improvements. I couldn't grab objects for the longest time because the instructions said click to grab, it worked when I tried right click though. Good work overall!

First of all i loved the choice of art style, the all black and white is beautiful and really sets the noir mood, i liked the way interrogating works, and overall i think this has a lot of potential, i'm sure anyone who likes detectives stories/games would love this. Now for some feedback the whole game feels a bit too slow, the walking speed, the text speed, the progression, i think it could in a future iteration benefit from being faster, i tried the click to make text go fast but didn't work, also enter to incriminate was not doing anything, and i find that there was no real need for the dragging and dropping mechanic. Overall a great experience, with these few quality of life improvements i see a good future for this if you choose to go on with it, either way, great job!

You should definetly try to improve the general speed of the game. As is, along with the graphics, it really creates a dark heavy atmosphere. This is a good thing (visuals are +++) but it's a bit too much. Also need to improve the presenting evidence part of the game, make it more clear to the player . It's a really good idea and mood but needs a bit more playability.

Looks great, and a very interesting premise! Just a random suggestion, but I feel like there's room to expand into a larger game if the player were a hitman working for the police or something, so that you can do multiple crime scenes. Great premise, overall pretty good execution, and the aesthetic works very well for it.

Critiques, everyone's said it, but yeah - text speed is extremely slow and prevented me from going very far with the game. I was also really lost at the beginning and didn't really know what I was meant to be doing with the evidence strewn about. A clearer message of the goal, and maybe some example of what it would be like would have helped. Obviously I get it's beyond jam scope, but some kind of intro where you have to engage with the evidence collection + interrogation mechanics *before* digging into the actual game would help motivate what I'm supposed to be doing once I'm invested.

All in all though, extremely interesting premise and quite a good execution + aesthetic! I'd love to get deeper into it but I'm just thrown off by the text speed.

The mood in the game was exactly right! It sucked me into the story and made me want to investigate everything into the slightest detail.

It would be good to just have the ability to skip the slow typing of the text, so that you can see the whole text immediately. It's nice at the first time, it gives the feeling of interrogating, but when you want to re-read, it gets a bit annoying. Aside from that, walking around felt a little too slow and picking up evidence was sometimes hard. Also, I tried a few times to incriminate someone, with five items on the table, but nothing happened when I pressed enter. What could I be doing wrong? I would like to know, because I'm curious about how it continues from there.

Very nice game!

I had fun playing detective on the game, sadly for some reason it didn't let me incriminate Alezza even though I had a good case against her. I like the aesthetic, and the the moody atmosphere created by the game. The stories I personally thought were interesting even if a bit slow. Got a good narrative going on maybe allow the player to skip text thought so they can choose to auto roll the text or spam through. Great approach tho <3

BW was cool. Yellow, well, sometimes unreadable. But I think, I know why you didn't use red. The game is quite slow, and silent mostly. The pace could be faster, more fun points. The height of the character - also. Hard to get the reading on the objects (some coursor or interaction would be nice there). Many suspects to go through (most - smokers), the design of interrogation could be better and simplier. Still, there's a mystery to solve, which makes it interesting.

Very nice investigation game, I have not seen any bugs. As mentioned before, subtitles are appearing veeeery slowly and they just disappear after loading. Anyway game looks really good, well done :)
