LD39 — Running out of Power

Ride Out by Stending 2017-08-05T17:22:45Z

Great job, I really like that rhytm game-platformer vibe, but I also have problems with it. It kinda helps to ger in the flow in the beginning, but then, for example past the 7 checkpoint, it's just unfair to the player in the way that music actually confuses you on what to do next. It plays all the same sounds but expects you to react differently and it's mind-boggling. Music is great and scenery is great, I am just sad I couldn't get past level 7 :)

Outside by gelisam 2017-08-05T19:35:44Z

Such a lovely little game! So charismatic even in such a tiny portion. Amazing entry, keep it up! Also nice crocheting

The Fallen by CliffracerX 2017-08-05T20:11:42Z

That's a lot for 24 hours! Nicely done, lacks some sounds (though he gunshot sound is too loud for my taste), but overall not bad. Controls are a bit confusing, but the possibilities are mind-boggling. It's cool that zombies are not the only ore suppliers, it was a nice surprise to actually be rewarded by getting away from the pod charger. The most confusing part is how electricity works in this game and what sterilizer actually does. Still great entry, good job!

They are Watching you. by Maldo19 2017-08-05T08:14:07Z

Cool entry, it has some amazingly done levels, like that one when you have to press against the block to stop moving and kill the wall all across the screen. The idea of energy and time being consumed why you play through many levels is a simple and effective theme interpretation. Thanks for the game, it is a blast!

Supervision by Rudra Nil Basu 2017-08-05T07:10:17Z

Theme interpretation is straightforward but still interesting to play with. Good job with level design, but the controls are buggy and it's hard to get everything done in first try because of that, which is a bit unfair. I couldn't get past that one level with big guys falling in a pit cause I couldn't even see my character. Maybe I didn't get the point of the level though.

Kings by nitzanel 2017-08-05T10:50:58Z

There's a lot of content here, oh boy. Sometimes it doesn't react accordingly to current situation - my spymaster would always yell about the general being a traitor, never minding that he was dead like 5 turns ago. On the 10th turn (approximately) the game froze on me, but that's a minor problem. It's a fun game, it really is, and it created some memorable interactions, just as needed from the games of this genre. The music was great too. Cool entry!

Unadexus by smbe19 2017-08-05T11:02:52Z

The art style is peculiar at least with its simplicity, and the core gameplay is nice in the way that you always have a goal. It would be usefull to have the ingame desription of buldings

Tesla Siblings by Linky439 2017-08-05T07:43:04Z

Probably the most polished game I've played here so far, with a distinct look and pretty fun gameplay. Sound is a bit destructive to my ears though.

House of the Rising Sun by shide 2017-08-06T20:01:10Z

@ddrkirbyisq This version is post jam, sorry for misleading you. We will update shortly and add a link to the ld version. In the meantime you can try this one, since all the updated features are listed above and they are made for making the game easier for the players, never crucially changing the core gameplay and visuals. Again, sorry for the inconcinience and thank you for showing the interest in our game!

POWERCUT, Inc. by zoglu 2017-08-05T12:34:49Z

Great game and so amazingly done! Probably the best game on this LD yet. Level design is good, you sneak an unobtrusive tutorial so well in the first levels. I would definitely come back later to play this game more!

Stray Impulse by tyranosaw 2017-08-05T12:08:34Z

Production value is great in this one, good job! The concept is simple and common, but it actually adds to this game - it works just fine, it looks amazing and you don't need a lot of tutorials. Such a brilliant entry!

Power Rush by Mik3 2017-08-05T11:18:45Z

Charger and tossing crystals feels great, though probably it would be better to let you charge your drill less frequently. Game feel is amazing, all the sound effects and interface is well done. This is a rather difficult game to the point of being almost impossible. I spend just as much field power as I get from crystal usually, so it became a hopeless run suddenly. But the core gameplay is good and feels good

Bear and Bee by ruerob-hyky 2017-08-05T12:20:40Z

God it has a charisma. Cool and simple, basic even idea and so well done! A bit too hard,I think, still great entry.

Robogod by multiplexor 2017-08-05T16:41:18Z

Nicely done, making decisions within the gameplay and not just choosing who would live or die is a good touch. Maybe you should've make that process a bit more obvious, there are guys that literally just want your energy for nothing. Other than that it's good, keep it up!

How I Met Your Great Great Grandmother by PeachTreeOath 2017-08-05T12:01:57Z

That's a great idea and an interesting implementation. The concept of multiscreen puzzles is not a particularly innovative idea, but I've never seen it interpreted this way. Great job, guys!

Elemental Harmony by Snowdrama 2017-08-05T10:17:47Z

Throwing dice is a nice touch and elementals having different dices is a great idea. Using figures as enemy figures is a nice idea, but it would be probably better to keep both your units and enemies consistent, as in having similar style. Good implementation overall but it lacks that attack feel - no distinct sound, animation or cool visual effect. That would be nice

Rolling out of power! by Willbl3pic 2017-08-05T18:00:21Z

Yeah, adjusting speed accordingly to power is a nice touch, the game was fun but a bit repetitive

PoweRL by Steve Johnson 2017-08-05T06:30:09Z

Yep, no windows link. Sadly won't be able to play it, sorry for that. Maybe you should consider multiplatforming

Inhouse Baristas by Marin0104 2017-08-05T10:31:09Z

Nice game, though obviously heavily inspired by Overcooked. The one thing you should consider though - don't put an action that is frequently required on shift key, especially if you should press it many times in a row.

Lucido by Gabet Games 2017-08-05T16:31:49Z

The graphics and sound design is great, platforming is good enough too. The biggest issue would be the conrols, I think, they are very important for a platformer and I found myself frequently sticked to walls when I didn't want to. Also if you try to move midjump you would suddenly stop, which is not very intuitive. Overall a rather good entry, you did a great job!

Plugzzz by mamoniem 2017-08-05T06:43:45Z

Kinda too bleak for a game with childhood memories robots. Good production value overall, it's really nice of you to think about audio in this game, but I think it's kinda intimidating. That's probably not the emotion you would like to make your players feel. It's a nice entry overall, with an according theme.

From Kingdom to Freedom by Studio RTV 2017-08-05T06:26:55Z

Good theme interpretion! Simple yet fun, though a bit too difficult overall. Nice sound, too! The chasing guy was unexpected and is probably the most fun idea to play with in this game. Maybe you should think of implementing similar mechanics further on, they are quite good! Thanks for the game!

Comms by Biocrust 2017-08-05T07:33:02Z

The need to always listen to things is great, you always mix up your steps with the creature's steps and beeping of a terminal. Fast paced steps are really creepy and beeping of the terminals are echoing off the walls, making you run around the station seeking that one terminal. Floating orbs are cool idea for tracking the enemy's whereabouts, but it actually is not needed, I think. As much as light and power is implemented in similar manner - I didn't get why should I use it and never did. Though I didn't manage to finish it either, probably I played wrong. Great game!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

A Day in the Antarctica by Khud0 2018-12-26T17:48:59Z

Nice entry! Throwing lil penguins is fun, considering the level layout while doing it is a nice idea and challenge too. But the arrows not actually representing the trajectory messes me up so badly! Also the game has some bugs, which are rather crucial for a walkthrough - "kids" stuck in walls, disappear from hands. Never finished it, sadly, not even sure if it has some levels. Penguins being thrown sound fantastically, but the music is grim - it creates a dissonance. Maybe it would've been better if you choose some single mood for everything in the game. Still, for 48 hours it's pretty fun and engaging. Good job.

Useful Corpses by ryjcio 2018-12-26T18:12:11Z

Nice entry!

Good twist on a theme, solid level design and overall rather fun.

Chicken sexer by willmurderface 2018-12-28T19:03:14Z

It's rather entertaining, though controls are indeed a bit hard, especially with the left stick. Still fun, and I love your sense of humour. Good job

Alpaca's Redemption by Oceanosaurus 2018-12-29T12:31:57Z

It's so consistently good! That's amazing. I really love almost everything about it. Minor request would be to make levels more challenging and at first (at least literally the first one) to make people use all of the abilities. Game doesn't get challenging till you have 2 abilities left, and first 2 sacrifices I've just gotten rid of the abilities I haven't used at all (that would be gravity change and hook)

Occupation Alternative by Joshuc 2018-12-26T18:04:17Z

Nice entry, but it gets repetitive pretty fast. Figuring out what activity leads to what job is the most interesting part, but then most of the gameplay is just doing the same thing over and over. Probably needs more activities and meaningful choices - I never needed to actually make a choice besides main activity.

Sacrifices must be made by Biebras 2018-12-26T17:06:18Z

Hey! Nice job. It still needs a lot of improvement, though. First of all, the controls. Moving your character with an RMB and then actually doing staff with LMB is counterintuitive. Also it doesn't help that the game is in Web - double clicks highlight text, send you to another tab and overall work unpredictably. Maybe you'd better stick with WASD and some action button, and then scroll between characters with one dedicated key or just 1234.

Secondly, theme execution is passable at most. You can do better, man, try something wonky and twist the theme as you please. Make it unexpected.

Colour coding for resources is neat, although sometimes you can lose your character in a similar colour (look at the first level, for example - teal player is the same colour as the tree on the left). That's just the problem of it being a prototype, I guess.

I wouldn't call it a co-op since there is really only one player needed.

The music is cool. Tell Noa they've made a great job!

Nice job for your second attempt, especially if you've learned so much.

Keep up with the good work, you definitely should participate again.

Suicide to step upside by Namae 2018-12-28T18:48:45Z

It's short, sure, but really good. Hitting people with your dead buddy (sorry) is a lot of fun, and it depending on where you grab it is top notch. Really hoping here you would improve on this idea. Great job, looking forward for what you could do next.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Ant Town by Johnsensei 2021-04-27T17:19:15Z

The music is great and the idea of making this kind of game in an RPGMaker looks interesting to me, but, as already mentioned, game wants player to do a very specific (although not at first glance specified) thing and it's really easy to get stuck. Also it gets repetitive real fast, maybe some obvious goals on each stretch of the game could've helped with that.

Murder on 34th Street by DanyVk 2021-04-27T18:52:12Z

Interesting entry! I love me some detective stories and this one is pretty unique. Presentation is almost perfect – maybe could've been a bit less high contrast, but this style nevertheless is everything. Gameplay-wise I had some problems: First of all, I couldn't accuse a person I want – only the wrong ones. Enter just doesn't work if I collect all the right clues. Do I miss something? Second – text and walking pace **is** a bit too slow, even after the update. Not a big problem, just some quality of life fix you may consider. Other than that - solid idea. I wanted it to be deeper (get it?) but it's fine as is. Maybe you can elaborate on that idea and make a game about rearranging the clues on crime seen, not just collecting them! That could be cool.

Catryoshka by mpetrus 2021-04-27T17:31:11Z

Really polished entry! Graphics, sounds and music, animation and an overall presentation are all pretty great. The main mechanic is a clever one, but it seems like it needed more grandious applications. Opening and closing doors in these big levels got pretty boring by the level 4 because the solution is mostly obvious and it all just becomes a tedious work instead of a clever puzzle. Even just making catryoshka move faster and will partially solve this problem. Restarting levels quicker would also help.

Asterisk by Crychair 2021-04-27T16:48:44Z

The polish here is superb! The artstyle, the music and sound design, the voiceover - everthing's great. Main mechanic is catchy enough to spend some time playing, although I maybe felt like I've seen everything after a couple of tries. What I'm trying to say is you left me wanting more haha!

Micro Doc by Raffez 2021-04-27T17:59:42Z

Nice entry! Visually perfect, shooting looks juicy. Has some cool moments, like muscles contracting and figuring out you can blow up the unkillable turrets with a pill. As already mentioned, it can get tedious with our guns being as slow and weak as they are. When I saw that a pill can kill turrets I thought "neat, there are niches for each weapon!" and it actually was the only moment I used anything but syringe, so making pills a viable option could've been cool too. Other than that nothing can be added, I think. Maybe audio besides music, but I understand it's a lot of work for 3 days already
