Love the ambiance of this game! The "retro movie" vibes are really well done and is quite fun. The animations are fun too, smashing cats and driving them crazy with the mouse cursor is great. I felt like the game could get a bit too easy once you realise you can pretty much shake the mouse across the whole screen to distract all cats at once and acculumate absurd amounts of combo. (But the combo texts are fun as well so I guess it's not that big of a deal).

I liked bonking the cats instead of giving them the food bowl. I always appreciate well reused assets, and your cat looking at cursor rig was nice :) Mechanics could have been more complex to increase fun for me.

Everything about this I love. The graphics and feel felt nice, I burst out laughing just smacking the cat down into the food for the first time, and I definitely felt the rush of trying to manage a feline army. An adorable, funny entry that will definitely see me setting time to push the score I got (ended up first try at 11633!)

One of the more unique games I played from this game jam.
For this game alone the humor category was invented! ;-) I had much fun with feeding the cats and the distraction mechanic is really some pro game play and funny to watch at. I like games where simple mechanics make such a difference.
I like this ! The animations and sounds were so on point, it really took the game to another level of funny. Smashing their heads in the bowl was so hilarious and i really tried my best but i couldn't go past 25K, where it was full panic mode hahaha
Not sure how it really fits the theme in my opinion but who cares, this game is fun and it's all that matters.

The music and audio is awesome! The animations are suuuuuper smooth too. Only thing that was weird for me was I have 3 cats of my own and I was playing with headphones and the sound was so convincing of sounding distant that I legitimately took of my headphones and got up to see what they were whining about. Unintended immersion 10/10 would recommend cat owners play with headphones. Love it.
Edit: Even though I suck at it! I can't break past 16,000.

@tombuston thanks for feedback, we're glad that you enjoyed the "retro vibe cat". That's good point you're right, game still needs some tweaking on the "distract feature" to make a better game progression.

Great idea, even greater courage (or however you'd call it) to actually decide to go with it. I was going to say that the theme wasn't covered too well, but seeing how you sink deeper and deeper into sh*t by treating them cats too well I had to change my mind.
Superb graphics (whole thing, appearance&animations) and choice of colors, along with the music has a nice nostalgia feeling to it that goes back to the oldest cartoons.
There might be a glitch I am not sure, in some runs I was defeated even though I don't think any of the cats' bar went all the way down, and I think this is triggered in some cases by smacking cats head on the floor. Also it seems this glitch continues with some weirdness on further replays in the same browser session (until browser is refreshed). Or I'm just missing something. Either way, great entry right there!
Great game! I love how the cats react to your mouse, its so funny.
My score is 45K. Look I *don't* have a cat right now and had to double check it the sound wasn't coming from my flat. Amazing work on animation, looks super polished and expensive. Dragging the bowl with a mouse felt kind of clunky, but this would probably play great on a tablet. One of my favourites so far!
Its so funny. I'll definitely play it again later. Love the 50's music vibes. My only problem was that my score didn't show up at the end in some of my runs, but still a great little addictive game! Congrats.

Hahaha this game really made me laugh! I was definitively not expecting a game like this haha! I loved the graphics and animations with the retro look! The music fits perfectly the mood of the game! :smile: It gets very challenging after a little while, I managed to get to level 8 at one point! Great job!

I managed to get to level 25 but after a while it's a bit hard to put the food where the cats are and they kept smashing the ground with their heads
The animation of cats following the mouse is impressive. I also like the fact that "mouse" is distracting a cat haha. Music vibes are great and adds some magic to the simply gameplay. Good job!
@kr4ft3r Thanks for your comment! That's true, when you just look over the game, it could be hard to understand the link between the game and the theme. But we're very happy that you enjoyed the game, graphics and sound design. Thanks for reporting this issue, it's probably not a bug but just a lack of feedback (our fault). When you smash a cat's head after the "dizzy animation" it's angry and its "food bar" decreases quickly. But there is not enough feedback when the cat is angry so it could be surprising to loose like that.
@maniulo we had exactly the same problem when we tested our game with the sounds the first time :laughing: We didn't think about mobile/tablet support designing this game but you're right it also works on this platform! 45K is great score by the way, thanks for playing!

I loved the cat's movements, eyes, IK targets etc., they feel very alive and and cute :smiley_cat: the music makes the mood excellent too and I also thought the game over screen was a neat design choice :thumbsup: great work!

WOW! The ambience, graphics, and audio are all stunning (extra kudos to who did the music and SFX)! Highest score I got was 70k, not sure how that one guy managed 89k :spy:
Only feedback would be to somehow refine controls, although I'm not sure how. Basically it got extremely hectic at level 20+ and moving the food bowl around took a toll on my wrist :sweat_smile:
The cat animations are really cool and the gameplay is nice even if it is difficult.
Sounds are very cool, good funny game! The cats animation is well done and it works. I saw the details that you brought at the eyes expressions of the cats, that dizzy head when they hit their heads on the floor is very funny and cute! Otherwise I didn't find the theme but it is a great job!
Fantastic interactive animations, really felt like the cats had personality and weren't playing pre-made animations - the eyes reacting to what the player does is great. Nice polished feel, imagine if mini-games in big titles had this much humour and creativity in them. Great job.
BTW saw you made "Save the Fish", which was an inspiration for the "funny" looking fish in our game.
Really fun game with a lot of humor ! Music is on point, same as the graphics, it work perfectly together. Concerning the gameplay it's perfet too, even if it's get really hard after level 5 ! I had a great time, good job !
I have cats in house, so i has pause the game several times for check if my cats or the game doing "miau" haha. Loved this game.
Simple mechanics, wich makes a nice mini game to spend some time. The art style and the music are amazing. And although i didn't get it where the theme is been applyed, i really enjoyed my time playing it. Great work!
Hahaha I love everything about this game, the sound design is awesome and funny, the animations are goofy as hell I love it! I'm a cat lover and this pictures exactly what I think of my cat's relationship with food. I was certainly not expecting to have to push the cat's head into the food hahaha, love the splash sound. Fun, simple and intuitive gameplay. Thank you for that!
cool game! it gets difficult very fast and i sometimes accidentally clicked the wrong cat. poor thing smashed their head on the ground. :O seems like they didn't mind my mistake. ;D loved the music and the silly cats!
I don't care how well this relates to the jam theme, but hell, those cat animations demand from me to give 5 stars across the board!

Quite an interesting game. The high-points for me were the animations, music and sound-design. The mechanic was simple but enjoyable. Couldn't get above 55k, but had a lot of fun!
