I like the gameplay!
Cool graphics! I had a hard time understanding which ingredients to pick and seemed a little buggy pick up and let go of things.
I like the drawings alot. The gameplay is very repetitive and boring to me. As far as I could tell nothing really happens to change things up. I the beginning, it was no very clear to me that you had to grad the potion from the cauldron to pour it into the portal, but I'm not sure if that was intended or not. I also had a bit of a hard time telling what happened when I made a mistake. Was I supposed to start over, or..? (I figured it out, but I think the feedback in this case could be improved). The music fits well
Nice artstyle, but the game a little bit monotone. Good, that you thinked about tutorial, but it was hard to understand how to play anyway.
Adorable
Wonderful!!! Easy gameplay and assume graphic
awesome graphics, this was just a pleasure to play. Thanks for submitting it
I love the art style so much, at first it was a little confusing what items to get though, but it was a really nice play on the theme! Keep up the good work!
It's a little unclear to me how the death mechanics work, does it count by failed attempts or by time? In terms of convenience it doesn't really read when an ingredient is put in the cauldron and when it isn't, you have to click through many times each. Also with the swear tips, what should happen?(maybe I just did not see anything as I played through the version itch io and there the resolution is only 640, why do not you put the resolution is bigger or the possibility of full screen mode? ) The art and music are beautiful!
Nice game! I love the art, the character is so cute ! I did not understand the symbols for a solid 3 min T_T Nice mechanics also :)
Your art is really great :)
The art style is very eye-pleasing! I felt really bad for the frogs and the goats though... You might want to consider making the game window a bit bigger on itch.io :)
Both the music and the art set the mood. I enjoyed your game, well done.
So cute, I love it. Great job!
Love the art, Great Game!
Get confused by the the meaning of symbols at the beginning. But really addictive when figured out which ingredients to use. Nice job.
Very charming game!
I like that the game does not straight up tell you which icon means which ingredient. I feel all needed hints are there, and also there are not any penalties of failing so the player can do some trial and error. Probably the low resolution (no full screen option) also creates some confusion since some of the icons are quite hard to read.
But overall, very good!
PS. Consider enabling the full screen option in the itch game page settings. I think it should work fine as the game was (probably?) made with Godot.
@nash Yeah sorry for the resolution :(
We are pretty new to itch.io so we had a hard time figuring out what to do. I think I fixed it so it should be launched in full screen now ?
Thank you for your comment :)
@groseilledodue I can confirm that it works now!
And no worries, itch can be a bit difficult at times with web builds since it works a bit differently with Unity and Godot games. But all good now and we can admire the beatiful art in full resolution!
@noona the game window should be bigger now !
Summoning is my job now, gotta collect those eyes, I wish I could use them for something. Really love the style and mood of the game.
That's a cute relaxing game *_* i would play this one after a hard work day for sure. The idea isn't new but that gives just a nice enough base to make something cute as you have here. The main hero certainly looks stressed >_> (also i like your names devs! c'est tres mignon)
@alecto yeah originally we wanted to add a shop for the eyes but it was maybe a bit too ambitious for the time we had. But I am happy to hear that you enjoyed it
Visuals are nice and the game is relaxing. Well done.
Super chill game. Liked that there is no active timers and you can take your time.
Have a good Jam!
Seriously though, mates, you're doing awesomely; the art style is totally up my alley. Plus, the gameplay is super engaging. You guys are killing it!
Great artstyle, music and sounds! Unfortunately it was reaaaaally hard to actually play the game for me because instead of picking up ingredients or putting them in the cauldron the character would instead just walk to where I clicked and didn't do any action
@potatofinch Ho no, I'm very sorry :(
Is it still doing this even if you reload the window ?
@groseilledodue I tried again now and unfortunately, yes. I need to click multiple times or click once on the ground next to the cauldron and then on the cauldron again for it to _maybe_ work. Here is a short gif to show what I'm experiencing 62c446bb2444ceb115a00153689cfb96.gif
The controls feel a bit odd, but the art style sets the tone for everything, great atmosphere
@potatofinch Well, sad :(
Thank you for pointing it out tho, I'll try to be aware of this next time
Amazing ! We almost have the same game! Haha! Great work, I love the graphics. The gameplay is simple and fun. Well done! Come play our version! 🤣
Game is pretty cool, liked the visual and sound-design
Idea is also on top, love the theme realization
But i found some bugs or something with coliders, mc can't take some items, put in cauldron and summon demons because of this what makes gameplay isn't really satisfiyng
But overall the game is good!
Great art !
And the gameplay, although nice, is quickly redundant because the difficulty does not change (or very little)
Overall it was a pretty good restaurant style game. However, I wish you went further with the theme of having abstract recipes and having to have the player figure out what the symbols would refer to. I think that would've been an interesting direction to go down.
Wow, I'm loving the art! Cute tutorial intro as well. At first I could not figure out where to get the horns and lost, but then I was a pro after that.
It was sometimes a bit hard throwing things into the pot correctly but otherwise I really liked it good job!
Love the art style and overall look of the game. I like that it doesn't tell you what ingredients go with each symbol. I think the cooking timer doesn't need to be there since you cant really do anything while you wait. But I really enjoyed and I felt like it fits the theme well.
Very nice graphics and relaxing gameplay! I felt sorry for throwing the frog into the cauldron, it was SO pitiful looking.... Clicking on the cauldron a few times didn't do anything, a small bug. I liked that the ingredients don't have icons and you have to think where what is what. Great job!
It has a great look, and the summoning mechanic works really nicely!
A big chunk of attractiveness here is an amazing art and nice humor around it. Like it
Really cool design ! Game is chill, like it!
The art was top-notch, and the gameplay was fun and quirky!
Unfortunately, the inconsistency in the input was _so_ frustrating that after I died a second time due to missed inputs, I ended up giving up. I frequently picked up the wrong ingredient after thinking I had deposited the previous one, which led to a lot of errors. It's a real shame because this would have been close to a perfect game for me if not for that issue.
Still, really great what you guys were able to accomplish!
Accidentally threw out my soup because I forgot what the instructions were having me do. I tried to feed the thing in the cage the soup but I got a goat for my troubles. Oops!
Visual bug - frog got stuck in my hand. Not a big deal. Was able to have to reproduce it consistently -- click to pick up Object A, then while you're little person is going for it click on object B. "Both" will be picked up, but Object B is actually item in hand. Object A sticks around. Was able to have a little goat friend in my hand the entire time which was unintentionally fun.
I want another cauldron! It's not that I get bored waiting for it to brew (it's fast enough) but I want to get through these recipes faster to get my score higher!
Ghosts are the lives at the top? Wasn't clear to me.
Art is really good.
Given that there's a score counter seems like the draw is that you try to get the highest score. But the score went up pretty slowly for my effort and the leeway was very big and didn't scale up with time. I think it would have held my interest longer if there was a way to "buy" or at least just unlock more cauldrons so I could brew multiple at once.
Looking at other reviews I didn't notice any input bugs, played in fullscreen (on Chrome) and everything look clear. Only bug was that visual one I mentioned earlier.
The gameplay was straightforward and took full advantage of your cute artstyle. I was surprised when a full goat came out! I loved that each recipe summons a different demon.
@timidger thank you for the bug hunting :) it really helps
We ran out of time so we are aware that there are still a lot of bugs left and also, we indeed wanted to add a shop to be able to buy more cauldron :(
It's our second game jam and we maybe overestimated what we would be able to do in two days...
This is really cool, the art is beautiful and cosy! I especially like the demon designs, they kick ass :)
I was wondering what those horn symbols meant then I found out you can grab an entire goat and throw it into the pot. Really liked the game, great art.
Amazing art style, well done!
Nice game! Funny we went for the same idea! The only thing you could have added would have been some horn logo on the goats cage it took me forever to see what it was used for (poor goat) horns also felt like it was a disabled icon, compared to the colorful others :)
Not sure if intended but it seems you can carry multiple items at once?
Anyway good job, and nice user @ :)
@stanleysweet Hey yeah I've played your game alredy ! It was pretty good, I liked it.
The multiple items was not really intended but I hoped it did not impact your game experience.
Anyway, thank you for playing :)
Truly, truly cute. I love the graphic style so much, and the gameplay is simple yet very effective! Really a little gem considering it was made in such a short time! Nice work.
Very nice art and good intuitive controls! I wish the gameplay had a little bit more depth to it, adding for example a second cauldron could spice it up a bit!
The graphic art is really good and so is the idea behind the recipes.
Sometimes an ingredient stays in my hands after I drop it, or it gets dropped but isn't counted in the cauldron.
Great job!
