Really fun Immersive game well made m8

bereg 2021-04-26 21:39

Nicely done. Cool stealth game. It's a bit difficult to find the right spot for the "E to stealth kill" to appear. I really dig the graphics, and the lighting of the scene. Great work!

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-26 23:15

@bereg Thanks a lot ! (Oh the E thing still happens sometimes I guess... I thought It was gone.. well ill update the project a bit and try to remove it completely)

edit: I have updated the project file.. the "E STEALTH KILL" bug is finally gone (playtested the game for an hour didnt find it again problem was I had to not use raycasts and use trigger colliders instead lol)

bassilij 2021-04-27 07:28

The game is super! Screen.png

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-27 09:48

@bassilij Thanks! glad you liked it  also thanks for posting that screenshot looks like u playin like a real assassin taking viewpoints and scouting and stuff!

metalfox-dioxymore 2021-04-27 10:18

THAT WAS SOOOOO COOL ! I had to retry a couple of times, but my tribe can finally return to the island =p !

I am amazed by what you managed to do in 72h, this is a really good base for a true game, I can really see myself play a more complete version of this, with more levels and a bit of polish ! I love the concept, and you did a really great job to implement it !

Just a little note (that didn't change my rating, but could be useful for your next games): to play the game, I had to switch my keyboard layout to QWERTY (I use another layout daily). That is not a problem in itself, I am used to it, even in AAA games. But to switch from one layout to another, the shortcut is "alt + shift". It means that everytime I wanted to quickly alternate between "detection" (alt) and "sprint" (shift), my layout changed again and I couldn't control my character ^^". It costs me a death (and a lot of heart attacks) ! Mapping "detection" on another button (or even a mousehold) is a simple fix at this ^^.

But hey, that's just a little thing without that much of importance, I loved the game anyway ! Keep up the good work !

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-27 10:26

@metalfox-dioxymore Thanks a LOT! yeah I didnt know people used keyboards in something other than QWERTY format.. is it used for a different language? well Ill polish this and make an option in a menu to switch key binding or something later.. also I am thinking **if this gets good positive reviews** then ill probably make this my main project and idk, pitch it to a publisher or do a steam release (after a LOT of polish, story writing and cutscene stuff of course)

metalfox-dioxymore 2021-04-27 11:09

@theawesomeshaz Yeah, in France/Belgium, it's the AZERTY layout that is mainly used across the country (due to the fact. I don't know about other coutries, but I know that custom layouts exists (like DVORAK, I've met people using this one). In Unity, the new Input System comes with automatic keyboard layout adjustment, so the game adapts to your keyboard, but keep in mind that "alt + shift" is a global shortcut in any case and that this combination of keys should be avoided if possible ^^.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck for your game, and I hope to see it on steam one day =p !

prerak 2021-04-27 11:16

Loved the graphics and vfx work Game feels polished and very good work with the melee attack sounds loved it Would rate it 9/10

saranbaran 2021-04-27 11:56

felt like there was no point in the game, but great potentional

reallyqbert 2021-04-27 14:09

Very different take on the theme! Nice controls and implementation of the stealth mechanic. There is potential to make a full fledged game here. Keep going!

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-27 14:12

@saranbaran well its like a part of a bigger story, a single mission from a whole story based game

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-27 14:14

@reallyqbert Thanks! yeah I am thinking about making this game complete and doing a steam release after optimizing and adding cutscenes and stuff in the Faaar future

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-27 15:14

maybe I should have opted out of humor category, people do not understand dark humor I see

g-kobu 2021-04-27 21:37

It's an enthralling game, it should be difficult to make such a game in 3 days.

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 01:07

@g-kobu it was difficult but it is possible if you just do not sleep at all for the whole duration of the jam

mhorth 2021-04-28 02:27

Well done! I didn't have the patience to kill everyone, but the design was great and got me really immersed. The soundtrack was really good, as well as the animation, and is that a custom shader that outlines the models? Really nice job.

digital-bacon 2021-04-28 02:36

This is really great. I love the Ylands-style graphics, and the mood is really good. I like the low-key music too. Some instructions up-front would be good, I struggled for a bit finding the key to actually do the kill (Space? Ctrl? Alt? Ah, it's E....) and I'm too sure how it fits the theme, but this is still really fun. Great entry!

leonardo-coyado 2021-04-28 02:44

3 days OH MY, amazing game, congratulations!

whysguy52 2021-04-28 02:45

holy cow that's a lot of bandits LOL well done though.

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 02:49

@mhorth Thanks! yup that's just a basic outline shader. Also if you can notice the main menu and the in game music have the same main tune in the background idk much about music but I think that is what gives the immersing feel to the music (I made the music ofc)

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 02:53

@digital-bacon Thanks! idk what Ylands is but ill check it out.. yeah the Key to stealth kill appears on the bandit's head when you get close enough.. yeah ill update stuff and add a controls menu later

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 02:56

@leonardo-coyado Thanks! I slept for like 12 hours straight after the jam ended :joy: :joy:

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 02:57

@whysguy52 yup! tis a raid goin on in the village

binaya 2021-04-28 02:57

Really wanted to play the game, but I am getting some kind of error 😭

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 03:01

@binaya what kind of error? It works in windows are you using linux? I guess one of your team mates has already played the game right?

binaya 2021-04-28 03:10

I take it back ,I was able to play after downloading. For some reason it was not working on browser. Stealh kill was pretty fun.Liked it. Sound is awesome too. Good Job.

norris-eldridge 2021-04-28 03:11

Wow, this is really impressive! Good work on this! I really like the simplified art style.

sugarsugarsugar 2021-04-28 03:33

Very immersive. Nice job!

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 04:27

@binaya Thanks! stealth kill implementation was the hardest part :joy: ..yeah that's why I said to "download the game for best experience" on the itch page cuz im not sure about the browser version also graphics are better in windows version

theawesomeshaz 2021-04-28 04:28

@sugarsugarsugar Thanks! and yes.. silksong when? any release date yet? :joy:

hiki911 2021-04-30 19:41

wow, it's quite impressive that this was done during jam, GJ!

zlan100 2021-05-03 17:44

Really nice game, it's quite amazing you made there, I'd like to see if there's alert level every time you kill an enemy, but overall this game it's quite polished. The 3d animation also looks really cool there.

theawesomeshaz 2021-05-03 18:25

@zlan100 Thanks! yeah when I work further on it I will do those changes but in 3 days that's all I had time for

nsadie 2021-05-06 19:05

Excellent work for such a short time! The mechanics worked well, the mood was excellent and it was a different take on the theme!

videt 2021-05-18 12:37

Very nice game, especially for a 72-hour jam! Connection to the deeper and deeper theme could be stronger tho. But it's pretty surprising what you've managed to do in that time! But ye as some people already mentioned: next time don't make players use shift and alt at the same time XDD

theawesomeshaz 2021-05-22 04:26

@videt thanks! ya I know I know I will avoid using that control scheme
