Loving how everything looks!
I didn't expect the ending! Very cool. I couldn't figure out what I was doing at first but would it really be a jam game if I could?
I really enjoyed the dubbed opening scene and the 3D minimap was a nice touch, although I found it to be a bit too zoomed in. While driving on the road, I noticed that the car didn't collide with some of the stones on the ground. Additionally, I think the game could benefit from more engagement with the environment, such as having monsters that try to destroy the car. Overall, the idea is great and the game is enjoyable to play.
EDIT: The music and sound effects were also really cool and added to the overall experience.
I can't play this. The truck starts driving backwards and steering right as soon as I start. Nothing helps. Tried keyboard and xbox controller. Restarted, checked my devices - still can't play. Played for some time on keyboard holding right trigger and left stick on my xbox gamepad simultaneously =D. Nice sound. Don't know if it's intentional, but music getting more intensive when time runs out - is wery nice detail. Grammar could be better, but who am I to judge, being Russian myself =D. If you manage to fix this bug I wouldn't mind trying game again.
That was a really fun game! The sound, story and music supported the mood really well and I was surprised that the gameplay felt so differently upon entering the worm. I liked that. It felt just a little bit too short and easy, but that is ok for a game jam entry and brought the mood of this game in focus. Wouldn't done it different. Well done!
Really liked the intro art style and music well done.
Not a bad job, and an unexpected dive inside the worm =D
Good job! The final part inside the worm its fantastic!
Really funny, I laughed so much when I suddenly started to drive a truck in the belly of a giant worm listening to some lo fi techno!
Hahahaha the worm part was excellent! I also loved the animation with the mouse cursor :D
Driving through the belly of a giant worm to drop a bomb off was super sick, I wish I could have seen it blow up though! Still, that was a pretty sweet sequence, good job!
very cool game . good job
**I'm Wormout !!!!** The game is simple but i taken a good time with this, not difficult, and i was surprised when i have need to go into the worm !!!! Intersting use of the theme, the ambient is very good with the music and the strange siuation.
@mathead Must admit, I see you are man of a culture as well
For some reason, this game made my SteamVR/Windows Mixed Reality turn on every time. At first I wasn't sure what to do but it was pretty self explanatory. I loveddriving into the worms mouth after delivering the bombs, got a great laugh out of me! the voice track and interstitials reminded me of Stalker a little, lovely jam!
fun game. that worm ate a lot of exploding barrels. :)
Congrats on completing a game! I knew it was an Unreal game as soon as I started the game because SteamVR booted up, haha. VR is annoyingly enabled by default in UE, but all you need to do is remove the XR plugin from your UE project, I believe.
This is great in a way that's difficult to explain. Thanks for making this game.
Gameplay feels like post-apocalyptic Ambulance Simulator, in a good way, the little cutscenes are amazing, the second phase had me smiling the whole way.
Good job guys.
The sides of the minimap was cut off for me, and it would be good if it was slightly more zoomed out, but I managed to find the bomb locations easily enough. Fun game!
Pretty cool game! I liked the musics and giant worm theme, reminded me of Tremors or Dune :sunglasses:
Voice acted cinematic intro added lots to the mood.
First time the game bugged for me, controls didn't work properly and the car continued to go in circles until I pulled my gamepad out and I also got stuck inside the worm and couldn't move... Second time around it worked fine and I played it through.
Liked the graphics of the truck and inside the worm. I will say I was a bit confused at first if the health bar at the bottom was mine or the worms, and I was confused if I was supposed to hit the barrels or dodge them. When I eventually hit a barrel towards the end, I realized that I was not supposed to hit them and that it was my health bar. If you could be damaged throughout the game by the bombs you throw and the health bar was always on screen it would make that a bit more obvious. The movement is well done, but it doesn't feel great in the hands, not sure how I'd change that, but if it were a bit more unique I could see a bit more replayability. Overall it was good, I liked it.
WOW that was so much cooler than I expected! The fully voiced intro sequence/mission briefing was a great touch and not something you normally see during ludum dare. The gameplay was simple but the car controller felt very good, although a bit janky inside the worm. The minimap animation was cool, and I love how the music started off suspenseful and then became a full blown action theme when in the worm.
The graphics in this game may be modest, but they have a certain charm that invites players to immerse themselves in the game world
At first I was like "ok kind of nice" but when there was a second part I was legitly surprised and was not expecting it, well done!
The music fits very well, and the visuals, albeit very simple, kind of fit the game. The car could be more funny to control tho, it felt very slow and could very easily stop, maybe trees could have been destroyable with the car (with them skyrocketing for more fun factor?). Throwing the bombs manually instead of just pressing the key to have it automatically go in the hole could be more interesting, even though it might make it too complex.
Having some extra visual effects for when the worm is close would make it more anxious (in a good way) and adrenalinic. You could also get rid of the radar this way which would improve immersion. I had some issue with the resolution (I have a 16/10 display) and could not see the entire screen, so the radar was cut a bit out and I could not understand the numbers in the top right (which I could only see partially).
The second part is very funny and I felt excited and anxious, the music was perfect. The car was a bit bugged but not a big deal because I was so excited by not expecting this second part. I did not deployed the bomb, which was not very clear. Maybe you could have given a bigger window to do that. After all, the player spent its time to reach that portion and it is a bit of a let down to reach the end and discover u didn't put the bomb because u didn't press the button in a specific point. Yeah it maybe makes u replay it, but I think, being a very short game, that it is generally better to make the player feel rewarded for having invested the time in it, since it's not meant to be hard after all but enjoyed (this game in particular, from my point of view).
I enjoyed the small but funny story and how u managed to present it in a very funny and handmade way!
Nice work <3
Edit: after a few attempts, all ended because of a soft lock bug when I replaced the truck inside the worm, I've finally won the game ahah
Ahah :) Thank you very much for a feedback @toccio94 Your comments mostly make sense and I wish we could improve the game accordingly. I see you have a good feeling of what game should look like.
Thank you for time!
