Good game with nice graphics. There is not enough clue with kraft recipes in the game itself (that would not switch).

It was really cool to see my 2 robots move automatically! I love a good automated process. Sometimes they seem to get in the way of each other, and I wasn't really sure how to make more than 2 robots (How do you get the SI material?). Also, it would be cool if the robots would repeat automatically. A good entry, but still room for improvement.

I've seen a lot of programming games in ludum dare (especially when the theme was "stuck in a loop") but I think it is the most interesting so far ! I love the mix with a crafting game, that is exactly the type of game I like to play (factorio <3...). You've reused code you already had before the jam, but that must have been quite a challenge to build this kind of game ! And adding the burnout mechanic was such a good idea ! I like when seemingly fun-only games start talking about deeper stuff, using the game mechanics themselves and not direct narration. So great job to the team !

If you have time, you might want to check my game, I also treated the subject of burnout/depression, with a totally different approach...

Wow, there's a lot of stuff to build, and the automation works well! The combination of automation and resource chains with the end goal of launching a rocket ship feels a bit too much like Factorio, but the game is otherwise quite different, so it can stand on its own. It runs smoothly and I didn't encounter any obvious bugs. Well done!

The worker command editor could use some improvements, I couldn't figure out how to edit a program after adding a new command, which was quite annoying while getting the hang of things.

Visually I'd only change one thing, the design for the base rock resource is confusing, the red hue makes it look like it is in some error state, as if the game was saying "can't place item here". I would prefer if it just had the design of the "hardened rock" (magma+water), and the design of that was changed to something different.

Nice game! I LOVE THE ART!

itskdog 2021-05-05 13:56

Art was good. Reminded me of Don't starve a little too much. I had some difficulties with controlling the programming. Sometimes it wouldn't let me click a block to add.

theernis 2021-05-05 14:19

it has some bugs but i like it

staircase27a 2021-05-05 22:06

Interesting idea but very fiddly to get all the instructions setup.

ardorugus 2021-05-05 22:18

Neat idea, but there's too much happening on a single screen. If you made in-game tutorials and split the whole concept into levels, would be a very cool experience. Loved the design and all the crafting/mixing stuff. Tasks' scheduling may actually be excluded to make a simplier but more player (not coder) oriented gameplay. Overall, attractive and promising. Don't forget to add some squeaky-scrap-fun music (a mix of Machinarium and Pink Floyd's "Money") on the background.

mamon 2021-05-06 11:28

Cool game, a bit to colmplex to play w/o focus, also craft table would be nice as a part of game. Wonder if I find time to build a rocket. Cool concept thou

hamzaplayssssssssss 2021-05-06 15:11

best game ever made but it`s complex to craft so many things but 100/100

xxatrain223 2021-05-07 02:00

Really cool, the pathing could use some work. Did you try restricting the bot movement to the grid, instead of directly to the location? And instead of always going counter-clockwise around the object, choosing the shorter of the two directions?

vixenmink 2021-05-07 02:17

Definitely glad I had 2 screens to play this. Very intense. Definitely could use some music or sound effects and maybe a short in-game tutorial to get you going.

nsadie 2021-05-07 15:40

Very cool game! I liked the art and it was fun to play. I think there are a little bit too much going on to get a hang of it in a short time!

fabula-rasa 2021-05-07 18:05

Cute graphics! Shame it's not all created for the jam/all yours. I also didn't have any sound (played downloadable Windows version) - neither sfx nor music.

I really like the concept and programming the robots is fun! Crafting itself would be better if there were recipes in-game (I was displaying the recipes on the second display while playing :)). Maybe even something like - if you already programmed the base recipe once, it appears in the robot programming menu, so later you can reorder the same recipe with one click.

I sadly came upon quite a bit of bugs. - The little robots get stuck in a loop while walking around - you can get them unstuck by carrying them to their next destination by hand. - The items were dropped sort of between the grid tiles and became impossible to interact with (and were stuck there forever). - If I tried to drag one of the orders out of the robot's program queue (to sort of get rid of that particular command), the command was out of the program, but the whole game was becoming unresponsive. No button was clickable, I could still move the robots and items around. - If I tried to order the robot to drop something directly to the rocket drop point, the robot was just getting stuck trying to walk into the forest to the south. Maybe he was trying to run away from me

But even with the bugs, I did manage to finish the game and make the rocket :rocket: By the way, it's a very slow rocket. Which is strange, as it is, well, a rocket.

This is super neat and impressive! I made it to the copper wire before the complexity of the recipes became too much lol. The burnout was pretty funny, too :)

filgru 2021-05-08 23:37

Wow! Cool idea for a game:) It would take a while to craft all necessary items, but with a little help from robots it goes way faster! It would be nice to hear some music and sounds though! Beside that, I had a lot fun playing it! Great job!

I really really want to like this game. It looks beautiful, and I love the concept. I've put over an hour into trying to like this game. Which is more than I've been giving most games, considering I'm trying to test and leave feedback on dozens of games. But there are just too many bugs and flaws. I had to restart the game three or four times (sometimes deep into the game) just because bugs prevented progression. Sometimes I just couldn't click on anything. Nothing would select or happen. Or the robots weren't able to harvest from a certain source anymore. They would just stand next to it, and I couldn't get the resource source to work. Often times I had to start all over because of these bugs. I like the burnout concept, but due to the other bugs and flaws I was facing, it would just burn me out instead and get me more frustrated. Also, constantly having to consult the recipe book was a bit much. In fact, flipping back and forth between tabs constantly (between the game and the recipe book) may have caused the bugs. By the time I had the recipes down in my mind, I was already burnt out on the game.

I really do like the concept for this game. And it's genuinely impressive how much you've been able to get done during the limited time of the jam. But maybe a narrower scope, and smaller recipe book could have given more time for polishing and bug-testing. In fact, if the game was shorter, and recipe book smaller; I probably wouldn't mind having to restart due to bugs. Because less progress would have been lost. The extensive amount of items and recipes could have been saved for a post-jam version. One where the player can learn the recipes in-game and have more time to learn and memorize said recipes organically.

I'm sorry. I really hope I don't sound too harsh. Like I said, I love the concept and look of the game. I'm happy you've made this game. And I would be very happy to see this project continued. To see it polished, balanced, and fleshed out. Maybe with little therapist robots that the burnt out robots could go to. :) In any case though, thank you for the game!

Really cool game, it was so fun having a little army of robot slaves. I see a lot of potential here for a large scale game.

If you are planning on developing this further, I would start by adding some quality of life improvements, like: - Working on the pathfinding, which seemed a bit broken - Having a command for robots to interact (like wait in this position for this robot and then mix) - Adding the possibility to save and copy commands to a different robot

Anyway, props for the amount of work you managed to do in such little time. Congrats!

viperux 2021-05-11 21:21

I really love this types of games! As other mentioned it's still a bit buggy, I also had to restart the game few times (fortunately windows version keeps saved the progress). I would love to play this as finished game :-D My toughts:

- It takes really long to create the rocket... at least for a jam; - There's too few space to make robots colliding each others... to ease the game they should pass through eachother; - Having to cheer up the robots is a bit frustrating... They stops too frequently.

For the ones that are going to play after me I have made a little infographic... I was going crazy to go up and down on the "crafting list" that is on this page. Hope it's clear enough.

I loved the idea and the gameplay! I just think it has too much steps to do for a simple game jam (wich is great because you guys made a lot of incredible stuff in such a short amount of time, but at the same time it gets a bit monotonous after a while). But this is just my experience, overall its an impressive game! Congratulations!

digital-bacon 2021-05-13 10:34

Great game! Loved the graphics and the adorable little robots. Bit tricky working out the "programming" language, and I had an issue with items being (accidentally) dropped behind the rocket, and not being able to pick them up again. But it was a lot of fun, and there's a lot of potential here. I hope you keep working on this!

yaroslav-kravtsov 2021-05-13 21:07

Brilliant! I hope you will win this jam! Pls, make it possible to take resources from crates by hand. And I think it will be more convinient if robots will be able to have multiple scripts or store scripts separetly. There are too many activities for only two robots at start.

lilkrit 2021-05-14 01:54

Great artstyle. And it's impressive to make a crafting game within 3 days :)

xpoho 2021-05-14 09:47

Я полчаса мышкой создавал предметы, чтобы ракету запустить, а потом узнал, что можно роботов автоматизировать =\

Но всё равно интересно, спасибо! ^_^

fire-soldier888 2021-05-14 10:37

amazing work!! The graphics are amazing, good job!! i play this game for an hour straight! some improvments: •the robot is REALY COOL but it has some bugs, sometimes it just walks in circels and sometimes, instead of dropping an item the item just stuck in the air •how to play section in game could realy help, not an interactive tutorial, even just text •craft receipts in game could realy help •the rocket lunching animation is REALY SLOW, it took 2 hole minutes to it to get out of the screen, and then, there wasn't any you won screen •audio would make the gameplay a lot better

overall, the game is amazing and one of my favorites from this jam, Good Luck!! 🚀

alprog 2021-05-17 00:26

I am confused.

In one side it is pretty good mix of good genres with great factorio vibe. But in other side you have done main code work (command execution) before Jam. And also you have made some sprites specially for this concept before jam too. It is not prohibited, of course. Especially if you have great idea how to fit your old code and assets to the theme. But in this case it looks like you have made skeleton of the game REGARDLESS of the theme.

So, I decided not to vote at all cause I don't know how to judge it honestly. But game is nice, yeah.

erkanec 2021-05-17 06:28

I like the artstyle.

superjai 2021-05-17 23:54

I love this type of game. Really nice job putting it all together.

tom-ruxley 2021-05-18 18:05

I love all the art and animation! It reminds me of Don't Starve. I also liked the gameplay, which reminded me of Opus Magnum. Who'd've thought that Don't Starve crossed with Opus Magnum would be so charming? It's also really impressive that you were able to put this all together in 72 hours. Nice work!
