Some of the UI in the intro gets trimmed and I hit lag right before the prompt for the pickaxe. Also items feel a little expensive considering how much time it takes to get back to the surface. All that is to say I really enjoyed the game, just wanted to give feedback on things I noticed while messing around. Good stuff :) 1.png
I like the art style
Really beautiful environment! I struggled with the controls a bit. Might just be because of the lag of the embedded version but I think also maybe the sub should glide a bit after you hold wasd to keep moving a bit in the water. Also it was a bit tedious to have to keep coming all the way up and down. But it was neat discovering the new kinds of fish further down. and nice and ominous when it gets darker down there. Reminds me of Dave the Diver
This game is very amusing to me. The spear throwing is particularly funny, when contrasted with the serious music and deep ocean graphics. I enjoyed this, although both times i played, I was only able to play for about a minute before it made my google chrome crash.
I like it, I do wish you could progress faster, it takes a while to rack up enough money
Art style is really interesting, love overall world, it's really atmospheric
Really liked the artstyle! I made a similar game in concept, and I appreciate all the different mechanics and tutorial popups you managed to implement, really nice work!
I think the controls could be improved a little bit, I found it hard to aim the spear while going up especially.
At some point the music stopped and didn't loop again.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and made it all the way to the bottom. Unsure if there were supposed to be blocks to break with the pickaxe but couldn't find any. Only being able to shoot directly forward was a bit of a hassle sometimes, though understand if it was an intentional choice. Nice job overall
Really enjoy the environments; the BGM and gameplay remind me of Dave the Diver. However, when it comes to the controls, it seems I can’t adjust the spear gun's firing direction (although, considering the submarine setting, that design seems reasonable~), but personally, I might not like that aspect.
On the positive side, reminded me a bit of all those flash games I played as a kid where the gimmick was mostly buying upgrades to be able to get money faster so you could eventually get the most powerful upgrades and beat the game. On the negative, the blobfish was really annoying to deal with. Once you encountered it the first time, it would just keep chasing you down until it killed you. It would even chase you to the top of the map, which was really rather frustrating. I wanted to try to beat the game but I just couldn't get myself to keep going after the blobfish killed me while I was carrying a lot of valuable fish.
Good gameplay loop and core mechanics, the web version is indeed a bit laggy but that's understandable seeing the 3D models. Great submission!
The fish and environments are great. I was not sure how to defeat the blobfish.
@ludokai yeah regarding the music, it was last on the list and has adaptive tracks for each stage, but sadly this adaptive feature was very broken and then we had to remove it last minute.
@team-9tailed @villeloso @googlefrog thanks to @sheaksadi there are cheats, press 'c' if you want to experience it fully upgraded.
Overall the graphics looked amazing! Great 3D, I enjoyed playing but as mentioned in other comments I had some lag when I reached max capacity. Also loading the game took a while but that could be my internet. Game was fun though well done for completing a game with lots of great detail!
@googlefrog You can't ^^ you have to save your friend :) there seems to be an issue, that the dialog of our friend telling us about the mind control only comes if u go in the very far corner otherwise u can skipp it accidentally

if game seems too hard or unbalanced. one can always use the c menu by pressing "c" and just explore
The graphics and music looked really good but the game seemed clunky and lagged quite a bit. Apart from that it was ok

The UI was really really small on my monitor (4K tv) so I could not really read anything, but a fun game with some nice art!

Interesting execution of the theme! The visual design of the game and the UI design are very good and go well together! This is a jam game, I would like to try all the mechanics as soon as possible, since earning money, diving into the depths are very long, and this makes the gameplay drag on.
Although it is very cool that you thought out a system for consistently receiving all the ship enhancements.

@letmebeme I tried it again, I was a little confused by the tutorial message I think, it says "press space to use it" but I hadn't bought it yet, didn't realize I needed to buy it during first playthrough.
Really fun game—I enjoyed spearing the fish! I did get stuck while diving deeper, and it completely crashed my browser, haha. But overall, it’s a well-made and interesting game.
Enjoyed the overall loop of the game. I think the main opportunity for improvement is just in the controls and making them more fluid (if you're considering making a post-jam version of the game)

Game ended up crashing in browser unfortunately but the gameplay is simple and fun. The visuals are nice as well.
