This game is adorable, felt like playing a children's book.

theearthabides 2021-04-27 03:06

Agree with the other comments. A nice, cute, neat game that tells a story with a moral. Well done.

Design 10/10.

Really cute game! Looks beautiful!!

colapolka 2021-04-27 16:45

Oh wasn't that just lovely? I felt like a child, being read a bedtime story. Loved the art and overall mood!

eximir 2021-04-27 17:05

@colapolka I'm glad you felt like that, it was really the intent ! What did you think of the fact that it was read in french ? Did it bother you at all ?

colapolka 2021-04-27 17:14

Not at all. It's not your fault I don't speak French. ;)

pitivie 2021-04-28 11:46

Vraiment très mignon ! Nice voice acting and good story

eximir 2021-04-28 11:49

@colapolka Hahahahaha ~ your words are so humorous.

bamallama 2021-04-28 16:38

Wonderful game, felt like a children's book. And I really enjoyed the moral of the story, I'm sure many many game makers on this site can identify with feeling that way!

Absolutely adorable! You had me hooked from the very first seconds of playing. The art is really cute, the music is fitting and the writing is good with a simple, but strong moral at the end. Everything was unified aesthetically and it really felt like I was experiencing a children's book, even down to the voice acting, which was admittedly amateur, but because of that it felt like it was just my dad or something reading me a bed time story. It was super charming!

I honestly have no real critique, to be honest. Just a big thank you for putting a smile on my face with your cute game!

dokthar 2021-04-28 21:20

Super nickel!

This story would make a really great child book. Liked the smalls puns and the morale. That was deep! Bravo aussi pour les voix françaises, honnêtement ça fait le job parfaitement.

GG guys that's five starts.

It really did feel like a bedtime story. Although, I can tell you, that standard Slavic bedtime stories aren't half this lovely or cute  It feels more like a nice little journey of self-discovery rather than a game. I liked the art style and the softness of your chosen color palette. And the voice acting made me wish I kept up with my French more (as I last spoke it like 15 years ago and understood like a half of what was being said  ).

Very nice entry that made me smile!

Nice take one the deeper and deeper theme. The artwork and animation style were done very well. I felt like the collision in some places was a little wonky, I had trouble getting up a couple of the branches of the tree. Other than that, I think your game was pretty good. It was funny how you actually had to get higher and higher to hear the deep truth of the moon. Nice bedtime story mood. Good job!

brainloaf-studio 2021-04-30 02:45

This would totally work as a children's story! The art is also really nice - I liked the handcrafted level design and platforming. I did notice the audio was a little glitchy, but it wasn't a huge issue or anything. Nice work!

nsadie 2021-04-30 19:21

You don't really make any choices in the game, but it was a cute and sweet story that I really enjoyed.

eximir 2021-04-30 20:29

@nsadie you are right that's my biggest take from this jam not every one should play a game the exact same way, games should allow for some player expression/agency , thanks for your feedback

sarafilipa 2021-05-02 13:08

What a cute little game, I fell in love with this adorable french-speaking worm. Interesting and refreshing take on the theme (also especially the irony of going "higher and higher" as a worm). It was very short but sweet and the graphics and audio are so wholesome and polished! And yes little worm, it's good to question your own purpose. :) Thoroughly enjoyed this, beautiful entry.

It's an adorable game with a cute character. I love the fact that in order to go deeper we have to climb higher. The game looks and feels like a good fairy-tale for children, with very nice art, voice-over, and music. A bit short perhaps, I hope you'll expand it. Nicely done.

molpe 2021-05-05 14:51

This game is adorable and has a beautiful message. The only thing I think could be better is the audio of voice acting. To be honest I did not understand much of it because of the noise.

My LP video  The comments has been turned of by YT, I cannot change it, trying to find a solution, seems there is none if I am not a partner :frowning2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y6-uL_5M4k

sevkron 2021-05-06 11:13

So cute ! The voice acting was really nice and not intrusive at all. There was a very storybook aesthetic that I loved. There really was a sense of progression and narrative that made me wish the game was longer.
