LD48 — Deeper and deeper

And deeper goes the keeper by Nicso 2021-04-28T00:48:05Z

I had a great time playing this game. Instant immersion in the world. Being alone, exploring the abyss, going into the unknown. I felt I was really going in an adventure. A sense of dangers and risk but still the will to push forward. The oppressive darkness around me and the relief of finding light sources. The progression felt really natural. Really clever game design and mechanics. You nailed so many thing with this game. Awesome!

Thank you for this moment.

Really appreciated the aesthetics choices, animation gave a organic feel to the character. The platforming mechanics, game controls and physics are on point, it was really enjoyable to move through you levels. Also I really appreciated your attention to details: the wind moving trees leaves. You muffled the wind sound and added a tight reverb on the footsteps indoors, the backgrounds artwork, tastefull audio assets... Great work! I will come back to it and study your source code. This is always a great way to learn cool things!

What to say... I really enjoyed your game!

@nikl Try running ./survivre.x86_64. Unless your system is 32 bit it should work fine ^^. Thanks for your feedback

@craplex Thank you very much. To clarify, the game play audio samples created using a custom made synthesizer. The engine is almost ready for realtime audio synthesis and this is something we look forward to incorporate in our future projects.

@truth-defined, @rongefilet, @nicso:

The issue regarding black screen on windows has been solved. If you like, you should be able to play our game on windows now ^^ (v0.48.3) . Thank you very much again for reporting the issue.

- Problem description: Error in shader compilation as reported by @rongefilet.

- Problem source: Glsl syntax and type promotion varies between different version of OpenGL.

- Fix: Switch from openGL 4.3 to openGL ES 3.0.

Now our shaders compile both on windows and linux. This swith to openGL ES 3.0 should allow us to publish a web version soon.

@nikl, @nuelijarma were you able to run the executable from a terminal using ./survivre.x86_64 in the game directory? Don't hesitate to contact us for support. Cheers.

@eximir Thanks you for your feedback! Almost everything was ready for a nice death/collision handling but it was time to publish... There is so much to do and so little time ^^ The current state of the game should be seen as a proof of concept for our rendering engine. This game jam was actually the first time we could implement basic game mechanics. We are really looking forward to the next iteration!

This really looks like a coherent, tangible fictional universe to me. There is something intriguing, 'mystical' in this world. I Would really love to explore deeper layers, be surprised with more amazing scenes, try to understand were we are, who is the figure in the title screen? So many open questions... That's great.

I'm a big fan of the black and grey art style. The sound design fits the graphics and universe perfectly. The ending soundtrack and title-screen left me wanting to see more.

Don't forget the game mechanics and technical execution, which are really nice.

You guys have made something really strong, inspiring.

Ariel Cleanomancer and the Eldritch Sweep by alyd asmar 2021-04-28T22:31:45Z

I liked everything in this game. Fun to play to the end. Soundtrack is really cool, reminded me of Baba. This could be a commercial game right away! Here is my diploma: !Cleanomancer_diploma_crop.png

The purpose of a worm by Eximir 2021-04-28T21:25:57Z

This story would make a really great child book. Liked the smalls puns and the morale. That was deep! Bravo aussi pour les voix françaises, honnêtement ça fait le job parfaitement.

GG guys that's five starts.

@rhum Thanks! It started as a horror/survival game pitch... jams are always too short...At least We got left with a contemplative experience and a better game engine. Glad that you liked the mood!

@wolkp, @vasilypupkin, @mazeraser, Thanks for your kind comments! We like this gloomy, tense atmosphere too. We will definitely push to have mechanics next jam (I swear ^^)

haarvest by dokthar 2023-01-10T18:37:48Z

@thierry, Thx a lot! Those jams are so educative and yet so short... We feel we have got something going with this atmosphere and engine... Time to step up our game mechanics.

CowMower 2000 by AXLplosion 2023-01-10T18:08:44Z

A day in the life of a cattle farmer. I mowed 33 cows. I had fun! (just saw that you also commented on an submission from us... world is small... Nice to see you around)

Click On Fish by Pomo 2023-01-10T17:59:17Z

The voice really cracked me up! The dogfish is a solid pun... A catchy game with a great name and great humour. Had a great time failing at my job, would recommend 10/10...

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-10T17:49:32Z

Holy cow, it's burning! I really liked the visual style of your game, the sounds too (Looks like you have the best sound engineer!). I could feel the battle against fire in a strong heatwave and trying to save my crops. You implemented mechanics that work well, that's a win in my book! Great job!

Corn Horror Harvest by Rhum 2023-01-10T17:33:13Z

Super nice! Good fun playing your game. I had some trouble dodging the "circle" attack, I guess I do not master the dash mechanic well enough. And I could not quit the game without alt-tab... But otherwise this is really straightforward (as it should be) and working smoothly. You have game mechanics, a gameplay, cool character design, a combat system, music is fitting the game well. Great entry guys, gg!

LD55 — Summoning

Path of Aratron by nusan 2024-04-21T17:29:38Z

Super cool game! Level 8 and counting... Kudos! You really managed to get a fun and easy to understand game mechanic while offering challenging puzzles with a sense of skill building and progression. Really inspiring! Music fits the game well! Impressed by how much you managed to achieved in so little time.
