I love the 'No Core' mode, so you can just chill!
took a while to master the control. Super interesting game, works really well with the procgen map. It's impressive to see such a "huge" universe in pico-8!
nice little game. looks complete. nothing so say realy. gg
Cool game! It could maybe benefit from a little bit of guided no-core time before introducing the death zone. Or maybe even just mention that the player should try no-core first. :) Those first 8 deaths happened fast otherwise! I like the game play mechanic.
I like the idea. Even in normal mode that power charging is slow, I find it really damages the pace of the game but that would be easy to tweak later and not easy thing to get right in a 2 day jam. The pico-8 thing attracted me to this straight away.
Nice idea for an arcade. The graphics arew charming. I would make picking speed from planets more fast and turn it a game about speed.
Very hard to control at first but ended up having a lot of fun after I got the hang of it, reminds me of a retro version of the angry birds space physics (although I am sure there are older games that is based off of). Good work!
cool, another game where you can slingshot around planets. I love the graphics.
I still haven't quite understood the controls, but at least I managed to orbit another planet and build up new speed :D Good idea with orbiting the planets, we had that too.
This was one of the most interesting games I've played this LD!
First, the few negatives. If I hadn't read the itch.io description, I would have no idea what to do. And the difficulty was brutal
To the positives. Maybe I'm a bit biased, because I love space games, and I love PICO-8 games. I loved the tiny graphics. The game felt very thought out and complete, It wouldn't surprise me to randomly stumble upon this on an 80s arcade machine. You even implemented different difficulties! I felt the theme very much in this one. You're trying to get away from an exploding star, and are literally stuck in a loop waiting for your orbit to finally speed up enough to get away further.
This was splendid, especially for a compo game
Feels really complete and polished. The art, music and gameplay mesh really well.
I found it quite difficult at first, but I got the hang of it! Really nice presentation and great getting difficulty settings in!
@pschichtel @oxropy Thank you for playing!! I play your game. We have same good idea.:)
@netmute Thank you for playing and feedback!! I added a few comments to recommend read itch.io page.
A nice little space exploration opera! An in-game tutorial would be nice, but still this game has a lot of stuff happening and It's fun! Pico-8 games always surprise me :O
Super well done! It felt more like a Pico-16 game to me! Very impressive.
Not too shabby! I really dig the aesthetics and the sound design. The music would get rather repetitive pretty fast. The controls weren't very intuitive and I had trouble to understand, what I was supposed to do. After three tries and reading through the description texts on itch.io, I got the gist and was able to beat it afterwards. The orbit charge mechanic was cool and all, but it kinda felt weird that the planets didn't have any gravity. I think the game would've benefited from an actual physics system that would allow sling shooting yourself from planet to planet while running away from impending doom. The more "arcady" physics worked as well, but it lacked satisfaction. The theme integration was ok, but I didn't really feel like I was stuck in a loop mechanically. The loop/oribit stuff was really my way out the whole mess :) Maybe there was a more meta approach to the theme hidden behind subtext?
All in all, a good compo. Nice art direction and pretty much bug free (at least for me). It also features a lot of stuff and game modes, which is nice. I still would've liked it more, if you focused a bit more on the core game play and how to make it really snappy and fun for the player. Good job non the less!
A really innovative idea! One I'd got the hang of the controls, it really did feel like I was trying my best to fly away from the centre of some horrible explosion. Orbiting around, trying to catch up speed, wondering when the explosion will catch up! The "slow-mo" button really helped, and once I worked out how to use it the game was good fun. Nice job!
@kaafirookie Thanks!! I think PICO-8 has more potential.
@mohdi Thank you! it was first time to battle PICO-8 limit. So your words please me well!!
@duke Thank you for playing and advice!! I plan making new version after events. Your feedback is so effective!
@natpat Thank you!! I think this is a little hard. If you play well and enjoy, it is nice!!!!
A nice, simple, and cute pico-8 game, I managed to stay alive for 125 seconds (yay!!). Overall the game was really fun, the music gets a little bit too repetitive but other than that, it's a really nice game! :)
@gelgavish Thank you for playing! Yeah, music is always my weak point. At first, I thought use "Jupiter" in this game. However I noticed not match concept of Ludum Compo. So, I struggled to make little music.
