HTML Version does not work for me, after the title screen when the first message appears, I only see a black screen behind the message and nothing happens.
Edit: Ah, you have to confirm the first message with Enter... I thought there was something wrong as I had a lot of errors in the dev console, sorry.

I love the cute and bizarre little world you put together here! It was so dreamlike, in strangeness, lightness and unease all at once. Both real and unreal. I don't want to talk about the story for spoiler reasons (~~first~~ second comment and all ^^), but again I marvel at your talent to create characters with emotional depth. I have no idea how you do it, Pastel is mostly just a face and a handful of lines, but I cared for him. Actually, this triggered a Goodnight Meowmie flashback in me! :scream_cat:
The dance scene was my highlight. After I finished the game, I restarted it immediately to experience that sweet dance again :dancer_tone1: The opulent and nostalgic music might be mostly to blame, but the gameplay was really satisfying too! Makes me wonder if you planned out a different game (or even two?) at first?
Anyway, thank you for always creating such high quality games and experiences
That was really strange and wholesome, i really like it. The people were pretty creepy with their one eye that stares judgingly at you if you run. Shoutout to my man Leopold, loved those guys and their rhymes. The dance was really enjoyable, the maze i didn't like too much, but that took nothing away from the story.
I'm really not big on story heavy games, so it speaks for this one that i finished it :)

NOTE: Minor spoilers! Don't read until you play!
Really really enjoyed this - felt like it had a bunch of aspects of games that I really enjoy, possibly for nostalgic reasons (blocked areas by NPCs until you unlock something, mirror reflections, NPCs that you see in multiple contexts with their own music, dialog that changes when you talk again). I also really enjoyed the ambiguity in the story, and I *really* liked the unsettling feeling that settled in in the second half of the game but which was hinted at from the start.

Experiencing quite a bit of audio delay on firefox. Since i had the same problem with godot's web export last jam, i can recommend looking into this and trying what is mentioned in the latest reply - worked for me: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/16259
That aside: Great game, enjoyed it a lot. :)

What a great experience!
Shoutout to my man, Lenny G, for being an awesome, fun guy!
@shanzhai: Thanks for that, I was noticing that on Firefox specifically as well, but inconsistently. I reproduced it on my initial export but am no longer seeing it after that...
I'm assuming you mean reinitializing the script processor as shown in the code snippet (using an Autoload singleton). However based on the further comments down in the thread it looks as though the buffer size is correctly handled across browsers in 3.2.2 and above?
Audio mixing in threads is still not supported by safari so I don't think that is yet a universal option. I could try reducing the default latency from 50ms, but I'm wary of introducing stutter on lower-end devices (happened to me last time) and 50ms seems "reasonable", though of course not ideal.

This is so incredibly... complete. That's the best way I can describe it. I love seeing all adventure-ish, narrative, and musical aspects of your previous jams get combined and go so far in this. The variety of mechanics is awesome and very efficiently used the controls and art, it feels way bigger than it is. The birds were an awesome shift in mood but still kept the surreal tone, same with the beach. It's rare to see different musical themes used like that. I don't really understand the narrative metaphor much but I like its ambiguity and it still hit me pretty well in the end.
I noticed when I took a break from playing Kirby's Dream Land on the GameBoy (I'm not lying) to see what new submissions there were that you hadn't gotten the game exported yet, and I was excited to see you got it up and running now!
Far Side of the Mirror has cats (😸) and mindblowing art and audio and an otherworldly atmosphere and cool chill birds. I'm eternally grateful to Leopold for giving me a weird rock. Overall I sum this up as perfection!
Another amazing entry, Cocoa Moss!

A really fulfilling experience! Art and audio are excellent, as usual from the two of you. And the story took me on a journey. I loved it, great entry! (oh and how awesome are Lenny and Leo? best characters in a jam game ever ^^)

I loved the art and music! I finished it, and there's been alot of work put into this. I appreciated the water reflection on the beach and environmental audio. I think the main char could have benefited from a drop shadow. Narrative wise, I didn't really understand what was going on, or the significance of the mirrors and breaking the mirror at the end.
Technically, I had to run on Chrome, the threaded version wasn't working on Firefox. Chrome will also stop working on Chrome 91, unless you add cross origin headers. Since it's self hosted, it shouldn't be an issue. Of course, the non threaded version works on all browsers, except for stuttering issues.

@jusw85: ahhh, sorry about that, that's my bad. I had added the correct cross-origin headers on one of my domains (ddrkirby.com) but not the other (cocoamoss.com). I'll get that fixed, thanks for the report!
Edit: I've updated my AWS setup, so that should be working properly now as intended. Thanks again for the heads up :)
Wow, that was a wonderful journey from start to end. Beautiful story, art, and music. The quiet reflection moments on the beach are especially well done, and Lenny's rhymes are on point! The ending scene is incredibly beautiful. I love the amount of polish put into the game!
If I could give one small bit of feedback, sometimes scene transition points are ambiguous; I find myself walking against many the left and right walls juuust in case there was a path there.
you two did so well! i had the most fun playing the social dance game. i felt very connected with all the animal characters, and very distance and judged by all the humans.
the duckies were so much fun! really reminded me of sans from undertale. i found my self feeling very relieved to find them again after dealing with all the horror humans.
i also had a lot of fun just running around as a meowmie, the art and animation for mocha are great! the seashell sounds were beautiful too, i liked having the beach sequences break things up. it made me wonder which was the dream, and which was real life.
i agree with @rosypenguin , the level transitions could use some visual clues, i also ran into a lot of walls trying to find the next room.

Oh dear, that is an unfortunate bug, and not intended. Thank you for reporting it, we'll make sure to get it fixed!
Edit: That should now hopefully be fixed in v1.04. Thank you for the report!

A really lovely, introspective adventure. The perfect bite-sized piece for a game jam. Short and sweet.
In terms of gameplay, I actually enjoyed the dance game a lot. It really coordinated well with the music, and the stares whenever you mess up is such a good touch. And the staring when you run. I really felt judged.
Nice story with some deep imagery and interesting narrative. Feels like it should expand and become a touching longplay. Got to the end. Maybe, got the whole picture behind this cut version. Liked it, keep dev up. P.S. dancing was the hardest!
Far Side Of The Mirror
Well, another game by the cocoa moss team and @ddrkirbyisq! I was looking forward to trying it out since I saw the notification in my notifications, and reading the description, it sounded like it was certainly going to be an interesting trip down dreams, and that's precisely what I've got. The entire experience was gorgeous and amazing from start to finish. :cat:
This is an incredibly well-crafted and introspective narrative and world that you've put together in the short time of this jam. It's bite sized, but it has the perfect amount of character and polish to really stand out. I love the character designs, with Mocha genuinely feeling like plushie material. I love the run animation that they have, how the one-eyed human react to you running, and even things like how you can mess up the dance and appropriate reactions for doing so. The audio design was on point too!
Personally, I feel like the only thing I would have liked was to see a bit more of the gameplay and introspection connected. The little segment with the spiders-people and people moving around to catch you was a very nice start and it'd be fantastic to see more like it without necessarily over-doing it over the narrative nature of the game either. Seeing some more conversations and opportunities to use those sweet text animations would have been great too!
Allow me to end this comment by stating what must be stated. ***Lenny G was the best character, dawg.*** I hope to see more of hi'rhymes and this universe someday, as I believe this is genuinely an extremely well-crafted narrative, game and piece. Thank you a lot for giving me the opportunity to experience it. Cheers! :whale:

Ha-ha, nice humor and dialogs, good job done here. Art and GUI also made fun and questish, that's cool. Varied music in locations is also nice feature of this game, I like this OST.

Very nice art style, audio and vibe. It seemed very polished. I really enjoyed it and shared it with my young daughter who also thought it was cool. She wants to play again tomorrow and show my wife. I think its a great entry and rated it highly.

Wow. Ok, so first off - this game is _legitimately terrifying!_ I mean in a good way... it's beautifully unnerving. I noticed a content warning saying there are no jump scares, but I tell you - playing in the dark at 2am with headphones, in the spider maze, the first time one of those women saw me and turned into a screaming banshee I damn near jumped out of my skin. One time I had one of those chase me for around 3 hours... well, I mean it was probably only a few seconds but _felt_ like hours and by the time I'd gotten around a corner she was still in line of sight and, _oh. my. god._ So yeah... that's a top mark on sound design there!
But yes, the art is lovely, the writing is wonderful, the comic relief of the rhyming birds... Oh and the _dancing mini-game_ was great fun! This has to be one of my favourite entries. If you fleshed this out into a few hours of gameplay and exploration, I'd buy it. Well done.

Everithing is beautifull in your game good job ! I have nothing to add ^^
Great job making this game! The graphics are really cute! I really didn't see coming the creepier part of the game. ^^'
Cool game. I wish you could move diagonally (especially for controller), but other than that, I have nothing to add!
Amazingly polished game for LD! There are an impressive amount of well made graphics. Also, the game is strong in the mood category. Increasingly unsettling as it went on. The rapping ducks were oddly comforting. I kind of wish the game expanded more on the story, but it's already a bit long compared to most LD games. Fantastic job all around!
oh god this game hit close to home
i have roughly the social ability of a small rock, and sometimes it can feel like... that.
This is the first narrative-dialogue game I've played of yours and it's fun to see you guys flex your skillsets across many different genres. The game has a lot of variety in it that keeps pulling you forward (the mirror mechanic helps set this up). But there's always a new backdrop, or minigame, or just music to pull you along. In some ways it reminds me of the pacing of Journey where there's a lot of ups and downs in the storytelling to keep the pace interesting.
The music is notable as always. A lot of the music reminded me of To the Moon, probably since both games are more about roaming around and exploring rather than fighting. The beach theme was easily my favorite.
Overall I think you captured the idea of falling deeper into dreams and dark thoughts pretty well. There's a lot of character and creativity put into the world design and it really sells you on the idea of exploring worlds just are just bit off.
Wonderful game! It was an amazing surreal experience, I loved the dance sequence and the beach time (and of course the ducks) the most. Great job, excellent game, one of the more unique ones of this game jam! 5 :star: for me :3

Actually tho I loved how polished things were in your game! I am now intrigued to know more about Mocha and why people seems to hate cats. Keep up the good work!

I love this! Everything is so cute and unique. I just had to interact with every possible thing.
The little details like moving text and facial expression changes were lovely. The dance sequence was fun and I got big anxiety when they all stared at me whenever I made a mistake haha
The music was super beautiful, and the highlight of this entire experience.

There are so many great little details in this game! The reflections, the running animation, the character expressions! The writing is great, the story is interesting and the music really adds to the mood.
The game play it self feels slightly tacked on, but that is also just driving the story and the experience.

There's so much to love about this game! I love the animations of the cat, and how the different scenes all have a different cool music. I finished the game, although I didn't completely understand what was going on. ;) It was not super clear where there was a door, but not hard to find either. You couldn't really get lost. I quite enjoyed dancing around! :) I played the game again to see if you could fail that section, and apparantly you can! Quite funny :) I also liked collecting shells, because, well, it was possible. Such a cute detail the the people open their eye when you run. Great game again!
Very well done! I love the style. The narrative was engaging, and I'm not crazy about story-games, but it's very well presented.
That dance mini game was super cool! I don't know if I've ever seen a rhythm game play like that before, good job. The nightmare maze was also very interesting, and those crazy hair ladies can be kind of scary.
The use of the duck/goose dudes as a type of comedic relief motif, was a fun and comforting element between the more spooky stuff. I'm glad they never turn to monsters or anything like that.
A few nitpicks; some of the text-bleeps can be a little screechy feeling. I prefer to play with WASD. The use of recognizable music could have been an artistic choice (because of the dreamy setting), but it still kind of pulled me out of it like "is that Mario music"? Maybe yall wanted that reaction?
Anyway, it was very good overall, good job!

Really well done entry! Loved all the different tracks you made for this, they really communicate the tone well and brought the characters to life. The art is really calming, cute, and creepy (at times). The aesthetic really reminded me of the Orisinal flash games from back in the day. The text effects really added flavor to the dialog. The story was a little confusing for me, but it was captivating and made me want to keep playing. The end felt a little abrupt, are you thinking of expanding the game in the future?

I'm sorry that I didn't rate in time, but this game is sick. I would love to see a full rpg from you.
Cute! Feels very polished, the dancing segment was fun. I liked the music and artwork too
