I love how it looks, sounds. The vibe is great, and I had fun with trying to scurry my mystery gang around. Wish I had a little more time or maybe a bit bigger window to select my charas - maybe it's just my trackpad, but I couldn't get too far.

tentaclemax 2022-04-04 19:31

@linnea-isaac Thank you for a feedback! Desktop version is a bit easier to control, but you are right, it's a bit tricky to stay alive more than a few minutes. We got a tons of ideas for a post-ludum version, so probably that issue could be solved in a future. But not for now, alas.

jungle 2022-04-04 20:05

Great game. It is a nice idea to build a full Steam game. I had some difficulty to control all characters at same time, I think that two characters are good to control. Graphics are very nice. Congratulations

carbon6 2022-04-04 20:24

I really like it, very frantic. Couldn't survive for more than a few minutes though.

linnet5 2022-04-04 20:25

I like the idea but unfortunately I had trouble with the controls. Other than that the presentation is really nice and the spritework is gorgeous! Good job on the game!

captaiinmz 2022-04-04 20:31

I really like the design of the game, but I could not keep all the characters alive for a long time. Other than that, really cool!

tentaclemax 2022-04-04 20:51

@jungle @captaiinmz @carbon6 that's the trick - to control every char somehow, and it's really difficult to stay alive more then a few minutes =) BTW, killers became a bit faster after each kill, so it's essential to keep as much characters as you can. We have some ideas to add more mechanics: individual abilities for a characters, some usable objects on the map, different levels and a possibility to actually beat the game. If jam results would be high enough for us then we probably will add all these features.

teenythanos 2022-04-05 01:21

Love the vibe! Music is great, sprite work is fantastic. Was definitely bummed I couldn't resize the screen. It's just the right level of difficulty in its mechanics! Lovely work!

EDIT: I'm surprised I can't rate you on audio?? I'd love to give you stars for that!

stenblood 2022-04-05 02:19

Nice mix of overwhelming and music that hit hard πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

damnscout 2022-04-05 03:06

Awesome work. Loved the graphics, thought they fit very well. Loved the challenge of managing multiple characters. Thought there could be some interesting strategies of sacrificing someone to get some distance. Great work!

boon 2022-04-05 04:44

I really love the pixel graphics, and the characters people with multiple doors for opening and closing was a surprisingly fun aspect. Great work! :)

tentaclemax 2022-04-05 08:36

@teenythanos you can't rate audio because we used pre-made music from our friend. He didn't participate the jam, he's a musician and these tracks was made long ago. It's like you take an assets, but from your friend, not an asset store. So rating the audio could be unfair

tentaclemax 2022-04-05 08:37

@teenythanos @stenblood @damnscout @boon thank you for your kind words, it's very important for us!

shmador 2022-04-05 10:13

Awesome mood and neat art style! Game feels very polished and the music was cool as well. I wish there was some kind objective while running from the killers, Maybe even Pac-man like objective where you can collect something in order to delay enemies. Nonetheless very good!

tentaclemax 2022-04-05 11:02

@shmador thank you for a feedback!

we wanted to make the objective (some traps, buttons and a ladder to the next level) and probably will in a post-ludum version.

Actually we wanted to do all this stuff on a jam, but as usual time was against us =)

justuspan 2022-04-05 11:56

Very cute pixel art! is there a way to win the game? or any method to prevent the enemy?

wobbleblocks 2022-04-05 12:11

I really love the style and the vibe of it!

andyzyz 2022-04-05 12:33

Great pixel art! I think may be better if the camera is set a bit closer to the scene.

tentaclemax 2022-04-05 12:39

@andyzyz in desktop version scale is more proper, so it looks much much better. We didn't managed to control scale in a web build =(

tentaclemax 2022-04-05 12:42

@justuspan there is no way to win or to prevent death, because it's inevitable =)

Pots-ludum version probably will have and objectives, different levels and win condition.

But for ludum we make as much as we could in 2 days and then just trying to polish it. Polished and solid but simple game is much better then bigger but more buggy game, imho

anaxie-studio 2022-04-05 13:43

The characters are so cute! Interesting concept and nice mood. It was pretty hard to keep everyone alive, but that's part of the challenge! The one thing that bothered me was that the characters were a little hard to select at times, but cool game overall. I like the name, lol.

arzi 2022-04-05 14:39

Love it! I would think something more modern like a mall would have fit better as an environment.

tentaclemax 2022-04-05 15:17

@arzi thans for a feedback!

Yeah, you right, something modern would fit better. On the other hand, scary movies often uses abandoned or ancient places.

To be honest, walls and floor was the first assets I made, and I made it before we figured the plot. That's why dungeon is ancient, but all characters and furniture much more modern

jzucc12 2022-04-05 17:54

Very cool game. I like the music and atmosphere. I kept screaming in my head "Get away from ghostface you dumb children!!!" They did.... for a bit. Ghostface gets got them all in the end.

fragment-games 2022-04-05 19:44

I tried the HTML5 version first. And yes, the scaling tricked me a bit :-) But the downloadable version is much better. Love the look and feel and the stress factor when the killers are moving in closer to a character im not moving. Nice game!

joedev 2022-04-05 21:14

This hurt my brain! I would be a terrible manager because my micro management skills are terrible haha. By the time I saw where someone was they were being stabbed 😭 Fun take on the theme, and I wonder what the best score you can get is! Definitely not mine πŸ‘€

skript-kitty 2022-04-05 21:50

I liked this game! It had a very hectic vibe to it, being that you have to control all of the teens at once! I thought it was quite interesting. The pixel art was very pleasant to look at, I especially like the tileset in the background. Overall I'd say you did a great job!

milq 2022-04-06 00:33

Fun game! Maybe I'd upscale the game to make it look better! Great game!

darkwolf 2022-04-06 03:05

This is a fun concept! I like having one of the killers be a similar color scheme to the characters, easy to tell apart at first but also easy to lose track of.

The biggest issue for me was that the characters felt really unresponsive to control. I think it kind of added to the atmosphere and mood of the game, but I'm not sure that it's worth the trade off in how satisfying the game is to play.

myttz 2022-04-06 09:47

The scale of interface is kind of too small, very hard to click characters. My best score didnt more than one minute, but i still love the idea very much, its simple but exciting, just like some games we would play with friend all the day in primary school~ oh, and the title is humor hhhhhhh.

nikolaykuznetsov 2022-04-06 19:53

Awesome!

forgin-bits 2022-04-06 21:07

Nice pixel art ! I don't know why the characters were stopping when I told them to go somewhere though, no wonder they all died :( ultimately I found it easier to just control one character and use the other ones as decoys  great submission, good job

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:26

@jzucc12 this is my favorite comment! Thank you for playing and for your emotions! It means a lot for me

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:27

@fragment-games thanks a lot!

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:32

@joedev yeah, my bad =)

Best time I was was a bit more then 2 minutes.

I had to do a game such hard because we managed to make only one mechanic - moving =) So if it was easier, then it would be pretty boring =(

We had some plans to further development, but it's just plans for now

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:36

@skript-kitty Thanks for a feedback! Future version definitely would have a bit slower control would be clearer and easier.

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:38

@milq yeah, web-version got pretty bad scaling =(

And even desktop version has much smaller scale then I wanted, but for now we needed a static camera for a better control of situation

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:41

@darkwolf thank you for your feedback! Unresponsive controls it's a known problem, but you comment forced me to thing what we can do about it. And probably I got the solution of this problem for a future version. So thank you one more time =)

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:43

@myttz yeah, thank you! It's exactly what I wanted to make the player feel - nostalgia for a game of 80's 90's and start of 00's =)

tentaclemax 2022-04-06 21:45

@forgin-bits sometimes they just stops in a shock =)

Honestly, it's not intentional and I don't know why they do so. Probably they are scared

joedev 2022-04-06 21:52

@tentaclemax Oh no don't get me wrong, I love it! My brain hurt in a good way :joy:

blooobird 2022-04-07 11:14

This was a fun little game, i love the slight panic when you realise you have no clue where someone is and you try to find where the killers are. Really liked the artstyle and music aswell

okamit 2022-04-07 13:06

Interesting idea, and great music and graphics, would be interesting to expand upon with balancing and more mechanics allowing better control of many characters.

Good work!

emaigualmc2-art 2022-04-07 17:52

The idea of making a parody of the movie and the name of the game is great! xD Without a doubt what I liked the most is the art and those pixels, very good! The gameplay was not very comfortable for me because of the resolution since everything looked very small and it was difficult to select the characters and move them, also it is not so comfortable to have to select each character individually I think that if you could select all of them at once same time would be great. Great job and fun! well done!

nsadie 2022-04-07 19:13

Nice idea! I also played the web version and everything was a little bit small for me and found it difficult to actually find my characters. Sometimes it felt that clicking for selecting was not responsive. Was the clicking based on tiles or characters? If it was characters maybe you could add a bigger collider around the characters for slight miss clicks. A button for quickly cycling through characters could also help. Some sound effects whenever a character is killed off would also add a lot!

lcrabbit 2022-04-07 21:00

Pretty frenetic! Was surprised and really liked how the doors work. I confess I wasn't able to survive longer, and missed some kind of command such as tab to quickly alternate between characters. Since I use Mac and the Web version is small, it was pretty tricky to select the characters

castitatis 2022-04-07 22:07

Cute game, quite challenging for me but the micro management part on each character is interesting and intense :D the graphics are really cute :D Good job!

kremlebot 2022-04-08 00:16

oh man! It is very hard to control so many character. I think, if player can control only one character (maximum two) game will be better and easier.

sofignedova 2022-04-08 16:00

Yo! it was fun

tvorojok 2022-04-09 06:16

Very cool performance!

alks 2022-04-09 20:25

Nice game! Love the music!

bqq 2022-04-09 20:29

Neat game, I'm so bad at micromanaging I ended up losing fast every attempt :D

I had an issue where there was two fullscreen buttons overlaid on top of each other where one worked properly and the one went fullscreen but the game window remained tiny:
