Good art ! I had trouble understanding why we had to use a particular emoji in some cases. The game does not appear entirely on small screens which hides the character on the far right.

druvsaft 2019-10-09 10:47

Clever little idea, though I had a hard time following the logic of interactions! Felt a bit like rock-paper-scissors but you had no idea what the rules were, so in the end I just went back and forth between the characters and tried everything, so I think the general game flow could be improved a bit!

Art is lovely, really like the style, and the sounds were funny! Missing some kind of ambient music to raise the mood

purpoappo 2019-10-09 16:00

Nice art and follows theme pretty well. I got very confused after getting the sun.

salamander 2019-10-09 16:01

Sound effects: 10/10

crochar 2019-10-09 16:02

I think some ambience or music could help a lot, also 'W' and 'A' keys do not work. maybe you could work on the logic of how the communication works because rignt now you just kind of guess xD. Neat art and sounds tho. <3

oneki 2019-10-10 10:33

Couldn't move around, as crochar said W and A don't work (in Firefox if it matters). Applaud your team for trying to bring more games to education.

dr-umbrus 2019-10-10 10:45

Funny little game.

Though, as other pointed out, the logic is a bit hard to follow. But that's ok, since having a hard time understanding the communication is the basis of the game.

As for the comments about W and A not working : It seems that this is a french game. And for some obscure reasons, french people use ZQSD instead of WASD, due to a different keyboard layout. So, it's not that the keys aren't working, but rather a different layout, and an oversight from the devs, that most people are in WASD.

assaf 2019-10-10 11:18

I liked the idea, and the sound effects :) I couldn't get to the end, I managed to unlock something like 5 emojis and then gave up since couldn't make more progress. The gameplay gets frustration after a while but a really interesting idea

maytch 2019-10-10 11:21

Interesting concept, just had a bit of trouble putting the logic together. I wasn't sure if I was at the end, but it zoomed in and had handshake + earth so it seems likely, it'd be worth having a clearer victory screen.

Also for anyone struggling with controls, the Arrow keys still work.

zimennik 2019-10-10 11:23

Very confusing game. It was fun tho to find out combination.

oakwarrior 2019-10-10 11:58

Super weird, but likeable game. The logic behind the emoji chains is not really clear. It's a challenge to figure it out though :)

ausstein 2019-10-10 13:29

Really cool interpretation of the theme. Why do the speechbubbles have hitboxes? W and A are not working so I had to maneuver with the arrow keys. I also would have liked some more hints. The trial and error was a bit frustrating. But I love the noises the characters make and also the art is lovely :)

luc-dercourt 2019-10-10 13:46

Interesting premise and good art ! Congrats !

steffy 2019-10-10 13:48

I like the play on the theme. I clicked every key to find the controls were Q, S, D, Z. The arrow keys did not work for me as they did others, but that's ok. Nice job.

pio 2019-10-10 14:19

I didn't get what I was supposed to say at times, but I managed to play it to the end. The game has a really nice art and I like how it uses the theme. The voices are very funny!

w0lfenstein 2019-10-10 14:47

Professional voice acting and interesting gameplay. It's hard to understand what to say sometimes, but I finished it. Well done! :D

space-nomad 2019-10-10 15:58

nice design and sound affects. it is a bit confusing though

grhyll 2019-10-10 16:17

Yay I made peace with everyone /o/ Really nice game, pretty art, strong idea! As for everyone else apparently, it wasn't always super intuitive for me, but the concept is super cool :)

pedro-miranda 2019-10-10 16:46

Nice graphics and the sounds are funny. But I found it confusing and most of it solving by trial and error. Interesting concept, nice entry!

projectaroid 2019-10-10 18:52

Interesting play on the theme, nice concept. Takes a little trial and error to figure out the mechanics.

chad-cable 2019-10-10 20:44

Really interesting idea! It was fun building up the vocabulary, and the crash landed alien is a perfect conceit. Had some trouble figuring out why/what emotions to use.

farlandwinter 2019-10-11 00:18

This idea and mechanic is so cool and innovative! And it has a deep meaning of non-verbal communication or language education as well, you can dig into this theme later, it's so useful and fun! The walking animation of moving forward and backward is a liittle weird, and in my opinion the visual appearance between alien and human can be more different to strengthen the theme. Anything else is so good! Well done! I love your game!

tohubohu 2019-10-11 08:59

Well done! I like the concept, although as a player it seemed like a brute-force approach of clicking every icon (often starting with the newest) was the only way to go. Nice graphics, though I'm sure it helps to have an experienced team and a library of assets. Still, cool concept and definitely room for more.

wevel 2019-10-11 10:48

I like the art style, but I'm not really sure how the gameplay is supposed to work.

0x53ee71ebe11e 2019-10-11 10:51

I didn't really understand the logic behind what lets you progress in the game. So I also kinda took the brute force approach. The humans didn't like it and sent their military forces for me (hehe, jk). The sounds are pretty funny and I like the art style. Was a little bit confused that wasd didn't work as expected, but could play it with the arrow keys. Pretty nice!

yayiest 2019-10-11 11:53

I managed to become friends with all four people! I could occasionally work out what emoji was needed, but most of the time I had to guess randomly. However, I think it is a very innovative concept, and the graphic are nicely done.

frozen-spirit 2019-10-12 06:08

Cool idea for a game but I did find myself getting stuck at some points on what to do and what the symbols mean. What I did like though was the voice acting in it! Cool concept and great work.

oddsocks 2019-10-14 09:30

Cool idea. The key bindings were off. 'wasd' wasn't working and they were bound to zqad I think. I was using chrome is that helps with fixing it. I really like the idea though, but got stuck when none of the emoji's worked on the characters anymore. Love the art.

mrstari 2019-10-14 09:52

cool idea :) had fun to play :) :hearts:

pl4typus 2019-10-14 10:54

Very good ! :)

pl4typus 2019-10-14 10:55

I feel indeed that it is a game that could easily be spread for children to play and understand its message fairly easily and enjoyingly.

sharbelfs 2019-10-14 11:45

Nice game, I liked the idea, like other people said, it's a little difficult to follow the communication, for me looks like that is missing some connection between the the symbols, or if I had a goal or a combination of symbols to create, that would also be nice

Thank you all so much for playing and for the kind words, and apologies for replying to all of you at once.

We are indeed a French team who completely forgot about this ZQSD/WASD thing! We began working on the game Monday so we pretty much had to rush for every aspect of the game (especially the professional sound effects ). We’ll fix the game after the LD finishes for fairness.

We try to make an educational game in one day every week, so you might find some other games you like on our page https://savvy-community.itch.io. Your feedback on our existing games, and ideas about future ones **are more than welcome**! Great job everyone. Much love. :handshake::alien:

nsadie 2019-10-15 18:45

I struggled with the keys, the arrows sometimes worked, but would stop every now and then. I could not quite figure out what to do. But good job on the art and the concept.

h-moon 2020-10-04 15:37

Cool game!

savvy-community 2020-10-04 15:40

Hey! Thank you so much :D vv
