LD45 — Start with nothing

Damn, that was one of the most buggy games I ever played! Really well done. I loved the bee puns. It was pretty short though. I would have loved to play some more levels of that.

Not My Hoarder by Tommyflower 2019-10-11T16:23:13Z

Well, I know someone who's home looked like this. Pretty fun to play. Also nicely done with the music and drums! Do not try in real life!

I like the concept and the level design. I was a little confused that there was no obvious indication that the game was over, so I kept searching for a while. The music loop is extremely short. It sounds good when it starts, but gets annoying very soon. It could have used some sound effects instead.

Dawn of Ancestry by Josh Mcmillan 2019-10-11T16:53:45Z

I was trying to run the Linux version, but it complained that the data folder is missing. I tried using the data folder from the Windows download, but it didn't work either.

Nice! Not my favorite genre tbh, but it's a solid entry.

A small issue I've seen is that it fails to recognize vertical words and thinks I put in an incorrect horizontal one. For example here I tried to spell TAR vertiacally, but it didn't let me. But it let me put in a single S to turn TAG into STAG, but it doesn't complain about the vertical TS making no sense. So that's a little inconsistent.Screenshot_2019-10-11 Unity WebGL Player Letterout.png

Seeking Light by 0x53ee71ebe11e 2019-10-11T09:30:13Z

Thanks for playing!

Yes, I'd have loved to add a little more guidance to the game, but I was struggling to get it playable in time. So stuff like that and testing got way too short.

The basic goal is to bring the flames back to the center to the other pumpkins. I guess that's very easily missed. I'll add a hint to that in description. For every lit pumpkin you gain an extra life, but lose some of your vision again. The more light you are carrying the more monsters will spawn, so you also don't want to accumulate too many.

The map is not infinite, but I made it too big for the current state of the game. If I had added a few more mechanics like I planned, that wouldn't have been a problem. I could easily shrink the level a bit, but I don't think I'm allowed to do such a large change afterwards.

Learning the Human by Savvy Community 2019-10-11T10:51:14Z

I didn't really understand the logic behind what lets you progress in the game. So I also kinda took the brute force approach. The humans didn't like it and sent their military forces for me (hehe, jk). The sounds are pretty funny and I like the art style. Was a little bit confused that wasd didn't work as expected, but could play it with the arrow keys. Pretty nice!
