For a moment I thought it was broken until I moved downwards and got my first light. After a while, I kinda got lost in the maze and wasn't sure what to do next, until suddenly I got killed by a lil creature. Overall, interesting idea with the upgrades letting you see more and more of the map.

Really cool game! The closed up view makes it terrifying, because you dont know whats around the corner. The zombies really got me :D Nice first entry! Only suggestion would be to give the player a little guidance. After collecting 15 flames and hopping around for 10minutes, i wasn't sure if I've seen everyting, of if it's an endless game. I like the pixel art and would love to see it maybe made into a full game, with the ideas that you have. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

Yes, I'd have loved to add a little more guidance to the game, but I was struggling to get it playable in time. So stuff like that and testing got way too short.

The basic goal is to bring the flames back to the center to the other pumpkins. I guess that's very easily missed. I'll add a hint to that in description. For every lit pumpkin you gain an extra life, but lose some of your vision again. The more light you are carrying the more monsters will spawn, so you also don't want to accumulate too many.

The map is not infinite, but I made it too big for the current state of the game. If I had added a few more mechanics like I planned, that wouldn't have been a problem. I could easily shrink the level a bit, but I don't think I'm allowed to do such a large change afterwards.

That Pumpkin looks like a really nice guy :) Loved the atmosphere. I would have liked to have a concrete goal to work towards (it was not explained in the game). I also liked how more light makes your field of vision wider - that upgrade was intuitive and seemed very seamless.
