I love this, really nice and actually quite difficult. I probably spent more time in the Main Menu just making melodies than actually playing the game, but the game itself was a lot of fun too!

This has a ton of potential, and is even a lot of fun in its current state!

Nice Graphics and Sounds! But you should add a option to switch to a QWERTZ-Keyboard.

swess 2018-08-13 19:21

Nice game!

Was confused at first, gave it a couple of go and understood the concept! I found it really hard to play... not sure if it's my shitty reflexes or too many buttons to manage at same time.

Maybe make the goal a little bit clearer to the players.

Keep it  !

@starven: I'm glad to **hear** you liked it!

@taner: Thank you for the suggestion! I'll see what I can do, but I'm not too familiar with QWERTZ keyboards. Is the only change that their bottom row starts with Y instead of Z?

@swess: Don't feel so bad, I'm terrible at this game too. I think the synchronization might be off... or it's just that this game is incredibly buggy.

taner 2018-08-13 19:46

@niterich Yes. So it was kinda hard to me to play xD But I liked the concept.

The concept is REALLY cool. And like @starven i love the menu. I could imagine a full game on this concept. Well done!

nice game

Good game! I really loved that I can create some kind of melodies, but I still didn't get what makes me end the game. Also, if the direction of the circle is changed to see n,m,and , notes easily, (think about cylinder)then it would really increase visibility, and would make game more fun! Also, It was also fun spamming keyboard to make melody on main screen!

It seemed like the cracks in the track were slightly out of phase with the soundtrack. If I pressed exactly with the beat of the music I'd get orange notes or misses, but if I played a quarter-beat early I got yellow notes pretty consistently.

The choice of the notes you could play also felt a bit off. Especially on the M key, the seventh did not sound appropriate to the background music. ZXCV sounded fine, playing in the upper registers was a bit iffy. Maybe next time stick to a pentatonic scale on small projects, hard to go wrong with that.

Like people have said, the concept is very creative, and a great interpretation of the theme. You didn't finish it, there's no real goal to work towards, and the score is illegible, so it's hard to judge the game for what it could have been. But as a browser toy this works quite well. Nice work.

Super interesting idea and take on the theme! As a french guy with AZERTY keyboard, it's been kind of hard to master the hand position x) Other than that, background music and notes were an awesome fit, it's pleasing to compose while playin. Well done!

I like the concept. I found myself spending a substantial amount of time in the menu, freestyling. This is largely because that gave me much more freedom than the game itself. I think the time limit in the game (assuming that's what it is) diminishes its engagement for me. I think I would have preferred to lose when I pressed the same key at the same point on the bar a number of times, as opposed to finishing randomly. A complete board would have resulted in a victory.

I had trouble understanding what the game wanted from me in terms of being on beat. I wanted to improvise sometimes, so I would do a 16th note, for instance, and I would get two orange boxes, but sometimes I would get one register and the other be ignored.

The colour scheme meant nothing to me. Had no idea what an orange box was as opposed to a yellow one. The only one I understood is the repetition brown one.

Another feature I think I would have enjoyed is re-listening to my "composition".

All in all, a solid entry, but the obscurity of a few of the communication devices in the game hampers its fun, in my opinion.

Very cool concept, and fun to play around with. Playing at the menu I found more enjoyable - without the time limit, as I would have preferred the gameplay to either just end when you make a mistake an hit another note, or when you fill the board, as opposed to having a timer.. as playing notes to just fill the spot to beat the timer didn't feel like making music.. just rushed. All in all it was very fun, and a great idea, I think you could really evolve this into something great! PS - Fruity Loops! That takes me back.. I loved FL studio back in the early 2000's.. glad to see they're still around. Oh, and PS2: I love the name and Orange slice reference in your graphic / design!

Superb innovative concept. It's quite challenging but well implemented. Like you said, its not 100% yet but, you can take this concept and amke many things.

Hey ! I liked the concept of the game and I feel like this is a pretty fun take on rythm game ! I had trouble getting what the game wanted for the beats, I feel like we could use some more visibility on this. I don't really understand about the difference of the colours, I thought it was connected to whether or not we were holding the note... Audio is great, and graphisms are pretty good also ! I love how you smoothed the menu and the end of a game in the whole game, this is quite good ! Good job :)

lilkrit 2018-08-23 12:16

Awesome game, reminds me of all the rhythm games. Nice song too!

papaver 2018-08-25 22:10

Cool concept! It would be nice to have some score visible while you are playing. I never seemed to get a proper score (always not accurate?). A bit rough, but well done!

erikkire 2018-09-01 20:31

Looks like an extreme version of guitar hero (8 keys :)). What the goal is and how to get higher score was not obvious to me so please describe this a bit more.
