nice

Very nicely done! The art style is super quirky and I love that. The postman looks especially unique in my opinion. The jump particle effects and walk trail effects also were really nice. Great game!

Really nice game. I like the simplicity and artstyle very much. But controls were really tough. You should put them here on LD page in description, they took me some time to figure them out. But overall it was really fun time!

jackou 2018-08-13 14:49

Wow! Nice entry. I love the pixel art, I love the sounds and I love the music :) Sometimes I had some audio bugs, where it suddenly became silent and loud again or the sfx was cracking. Also at some points you aren't allowed to jump even though it feels / looks like you are perfectly on a platform. Overall really well done!

tulipekoni 2018-08-13 15:01

@jackou glad you liked it! the cracking is due to Unity's bug with webGL builds (there is no way to fix it :/) also it depends alot whitch browser you're using. thanks for playing!

akros 2018-08-13 17:13

Cool pixel art! Had some fun playing this game! I am 18 and I want make games for living, too. I am struggling with choosing college a lot, we could connect on disсrod (Forild#2459) or somewhere else and have a talk, it would be nice.

phantomopenboxing 2018-08-13 18:06

Great visuals! I love the pixel art style of your game. It would be interesting to add something to mix up the gameplay every now and then... maybe random events?

allan-kong 2018-08-13 18:09

Sound effects, music and art is great. however, the moment feels a little queer.

cdox 2018-08-13 18:10

Cool game with great art!

paragonraptors 2018-08-13 18:19

It's simple, but cute! This is nitpicky, but it would be nice if there was a card for the controls in the game. It controlled a little weird in browser too, hard to double jump and I could never seem to throw boxes in front of me, only behind...BUT I still had fun playing! And I loved the graphics a lot!

tulipekoni 2018-08-13 18:25

@paragonraptors glad you liked it! there's a bug with the webGL build. on some browsers everything works perfectly and on some.. eh, not so well. thanks for playing!

chillen 2018-08-13 18:35

Really loved the art and sounds! The only issues were the obvious audio/jumping bugs assumedly caused by Unity WebGL as you mentioned. The core loop is super fun. Had you tried allowing the player to pick up boxes they're standing on? I wasn't sure if that was an intentional way to up the difficulty or not (that bottom left platform, oof!)

Great stuff. Really fun time playing it :) The biggest, potentially low cost improvement post-LD I can think of would be showing some approximation of the throw trajectory. I was hitting ceilings a lot! Without it is fine, just takes time to get used to the height. Really enjoyed this!

boltkey 2018-08-13 18:54

Very neat idea and execution! It looks really nice!

The controls were for some reason very unresponsive for me. My W got registered only about 70% of the time. And picking up boxes was quite annoying too - why can't I pick up a box that I am standing on, but I can pick up a box that is on the other side of the screen?

anton-potatis 2018-08-13 19:12

Very good game! Really like it! Although the jump didn't work always and i would like to pick up the boxes with my mouse. Good job!

taner 2018-08-13 19:17

I like the idea. Good Pixel arts, but you could other keys to take and throw. It was kinda hard at the start. But it was very fun!

tulipekoni 2018-08-14 05:22

@chillen @boltkey thanks for the feedback! since I'm participating in the jam version I fixed both bugs (yesterday when there was still time left), you can't grab boxes from other side of the map anymore (I can't believe I didn't notice that before) and you can now take boxes under you (also a bug I didn't notice before). Thanks again!

sharky3188 2018-08-14 05:44

Well done i think this game is great. Love the art style, super clean and polished. Audio fits well and i enjoyed grooving along to it.

The throwing mechanic is really nice, feels satisfying scoring throws in 1 go. Not sure if it was my browser, the double jump felt a bit inconsistent and took away from the fun a bit. Over all a great entry.

youkaidrawing 2018-08-14 07:51

Cute graphic, cute gameplay, cute music. Very good (cute) game!

icxon 2018-08-15 06:57

Throwing boxes is a bit tricky. And I didn't get why I lose while I had 2 hearts (only after I watched the recording I noted the timer thing). It was fun to play overall.

Here is my playtest:

chaosthelegend 2018-08-15 10:00

controlls are a bit unresponsive, but other than that, it's a great game!

tulipekoni 2018-08-15 13:22

@icxon glad to hear you liked the game! the meter at the top tells how much boxes there are on the map. 10 or more and you'll lose automatically :)

jamison 2018-08-17 05:34

I got up to 21. i enjoyed it when the controls cooperated :) By the way, it wasn't immediately clear that you can aim your throw. I also wish I could throw boxes downward, would help clear off the top platforms

ekilibr 2018-08-17 05:38

Nice entry, super efficient :) you easily enter in the fun of the game, sorting things responding certainly to a compulsive human need of putting things in the right boxes :D. Art is also really well executed. Well done!

blinkenlights 2018-08-21 18:14

A lovely, nicely packaged game! Beautiful audio, but not too new of an idea. All in all, nice entry!

jin9310 2018-09-03 20:45

Really nice entry! Great job! Love the art!

after a number of playthroughs through different browsers here's what I find: - Firefox: audio pops high pitch when scoring a box through its correct path.. - Edge: loud audio clipping ' ' - Chrome: volume 'ducks' for a bit (soft-clipping) <- Chrome is the softer option in temporary remedy of the audio-glitches

There is some stickiness (addictive) and charm with this game.. :ok_hand: As soon as you can toss boxes at angles and see it slide to its path it felt nice when things go with the flow.. Other times there's that hiccup of box jammed at 45' at the designated entrance outlets..

I could understand there's some quirks on the double-jump issue.. What sets the charm for this game is its throwing mechanic! Good touch on the large Score number; at first I has assumed it would have been a level or zone.. :ok_hand:

Optional Suggestions: - Why not Introduce a Ninja-rope/Grapple-hook into the mix? this may perform 2 things: - Primary function to have a secondary means of traverse platforms vertically or angular.. - Secondary function for grapple-hook is to last-second save the wrong box into the outlet or reach boxes from other platforms. - Option to have Variation of platforms? (an item to deploy a trampolines or upgrade environment to select platforms that become trampolines. - Some other Players have suggested throwing trajectories, maybe have it as a skill(focus meter) or temporary power-up? - Somehow this box tossing mechanics is giving me this vibe on Billiards Trick-shots: - Have some list of trick-shots for bonus points or multipliers.. chained combos for unlockables..

I like where its going.. look forward to see where it goes on future builds.. :dizzy:
