Very impressive, for a game that was made in just 5 hours. A little bit of feedback for you: 1) The jumping doesn't work when the cube you control is next to another block. Is that intentional, or a bug? 2) I would slow down the speed of the falling blocks just a little bit. Still, great job, and good luck!
Have to agree the previous commenter with slowing down the falling blocks, or allowing your block to be a bit faster. The floaty jump can make it hard to react to the whold hting.
Good job though, and an interesting concept! I enjoyed it!
Not bad at all... for a 14 year old! Kidding of course, was fun to play and looks good, well done!
Nice little game but the cube are falling to rapidly in my opinion :)
A fairly fun game, although the jumping feels a bit weird. Otherwise, a simple and relaxing game. I really enjoyed the shading.
It's a simple but fun game to blow a few minutes on. I like the music.
I could be imagining it, but I think the blocks are falling faster in fullscreen mode.
Also, are you just rolling a random number to determine which column the next block falls in? I played a couple rounds where at one point, I stopped pressing buttons and stayed still, and lasted an additional fifteen-twenty+ seconds because all the blocks were falling in the other columns. If that is not intended, a good improvement would be to time how many seconds it's been since the keyboard press event, and drop a block on the player's column when it reaches X number of seconds.
Not bad for 5 hours! There are some issues with the controls, and the physics of the cubes, but it's understandable.
I think rather than slowing down the cubes, maybe you could introduce a visual cue that lets the palyer know a cube is about to drop on a specific column, like some kind of highlight in a lighter red projected on the wall, or maybe flashing the cubes that are already on that column.
Hey, good job, keep learning! :)

solid game, but I would recommend making the shadows directly under the Boxes, that way you could predict them a bit easier. Not sure how that would affect the aesthetic though.

Nice idea and good presentation.

Overall, amazing job, especially for just 5 hours! I do have to agree with a lot of the other comments, though. The blocks could maybe start out slower, and the jumping feels very "floaty". Still, great entry!
Thank you guys for playing and leaving your feedback! @tigerclaw Thanks for the suggestion. I'll surely implement that in a later build. I hadn't thought of that.

Clean and simply. It would be great to have some diversity and perhaps the theme could get bit more 'space' :) since you will die instantly once hit, but give it a time you spent on this, it is pretty amazing! Nice job
This game is surprisingly difficult, I think it might be to do with the strange angle and lack of feedback to where in the level you are combined with the blocks falling too fast to react to (or maybe I just need more practice?). I like the idea, the graphics while simple and nice to look at and the music is good. Hopefully for the next game you'll get more time to playtest and get feedback to help with the iteration and balance.

Making this in 5 hours is impressive ^.^ I can't wait to see a 72 hours work from you :)

Nice game! Impressive that you made the whole game in just 3 hours. The music is nice and action like. Apart from some collision bugs a really fun experience!
Nice and clean concept. The gameplay it's pretty straight forward and a nice "time killer". I'm amazed that was done in only 5 hours. As @coldfire83 pointed out, I suffer from 1 as well and began to wonder if was intentional. And adding to the 2, I also think that the speed of falling blocks is a little to speedy. I think that would be better to progressively increase the speed I cool concept to apply in this game. But a nice game, indeed! Simple and fun

I find the worst part of this game is the unfairness. Many times I died, it felt like I wasn't able to avoid it. Just by adding an incremental speed to the blocks over time instead of the blocks falling at full speed, would have done this game wonders, The audio seemed a bit too in your face at times and got distracting. the graphics were simple but did not try to do more than nesseserry. Well done and good job!

Simple idea and okay execution.
In a runner-style short survival game that is controlled exclusively with a keyboard, it is very wrong to have to click *twice* and *with your mouse* on *buttons that have no feedback* to restart. Also, both buttons are literally the only clickable thing on the screen, so it could as well at least be "click anywhere to continue". Returning to the starting screen is so unnecessary. I know it was probably a bit simpler to restart the whole game including the title screen, but it makes it so much more annoying to restart.
It is very little detail, but these details can add up in bigger games and can spoil the experience although the core game can be perfect.
Making it in 3d is just unnecessary for this concept imo.
@boltkey I had added the feature to press Enter instead of clicking on the button. It turns out it wasn't building properly. So I'll be updating the game once to fix that.

Great little game for this ammount of time ! I think the physics of the jump is a little bit weird though. I would like to know if you've done the audio yourself, in which case it would be incredible.
Good entry !
@miracl Thank you for your feedback! And yes, I have done the audio myself, both the background music and the game over effect
Hey a cool fun game actually, the jumps feel a bit too powerful, and I think the shadows on the wall is distracting, maybe because the light source was too high on the map so the shadow is a bit too low. I hope you get what I mean. Those are the only comments I have, its a fun game, I didnt get bored of it at all. Having a high score would make it even more addictive!
@nam-nguyen Thanks for the great feedback! Also, it seems that you've rated 150+ games till now which is absolutely amazing!! I haven't started rating games yet since I don't have my computer with me for the time being, unfortunately.
@anubhav-kashyap My first game jam so Im very hyped, just going around and trying to leave some useful feedback ^^
interesting concept and very well done considering that it was done in just 5 hours. Simple but effective. I liked the minimalist art style. Good job!

Funny concept, well done for 5 hours, continue to make games ;) Shadows help to see blocks coming, which is clever.

Simple but funny game to play. Maybe the cube that you control moves and jumps a bit slow, but good game.

OMG , this game is so fun , just dont know why sometime it can jump so high.
Great entry. I really enjoyed it. It's clean and simple and fun. Totally worth putting a little extra time into it. It is full of potential. Well done indeed.
Pretty fun game! Amazing concept, really well executed. One tip; you get stuck on the sides of other cubes quite often. I'd make all surfaces more slippery. Great job! Could you play our game as well? thanks! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/inventory-story
This is lovely, so let me give you some golden tips:
- to preserve the aesthetic angle while giving clear depth to falling blocks, you could have the row of the falling block slightly turn a different color. The player can then compare the path of the block to their own instead of hoping they guessed correctly in which rows the blocks are falling. - upon landing, reset the velocity to (0,0,0) to get rid of sliding rigidbodies. My character was slowly sliding among the x-axis even though I wasn't pressing any buttons. - fix the jump. It's not all that reliable for the player but necessary to overcome some obstacles.
@king-kujito Thanks for the suggestions! And @kapiteinkoekwous I'll surely be rating your game!
Nice entry, this game is pretty addictive ! The only feedbacks I could give is that sometimes you can't escape from some situations :/ And maybe you could use better the 3D and do the same with more degrees of freedom (would be very cool though :P) Congrats, for a game in 5hours really good job :)

Hi! Nice game you made! Just in 5 hours? nice job ! Graphics are simple but works fine, the idea is good ! the music is cool but get boring if you play too long! The theme is quite respected. it's kinda hard at the beggining but you get used to it fast ! this is typically the kind of game i could play on my phone ! Good luck for the next!
Good job for the short time period, I would have liked to see a diferent twist on this since i feel like Ive seen this game before. nontheless, graphics are nice and clean, Music is nice too. The jump is a bit unreliable but im unsure if it was intentional. Congrats
@leetchi I was planning to release it for mobile platforms at first, but due to lack of time I couldn't. Though I hope to remake this for Android and iOS soon. Thanks for your feedback!
just 5 hour? this game is amazing!! nice job

Super fun platform and really easy to understand! The music goes really well and gives it a sense of urgency to do well. Artwork is simple and fits the overall look/feel of the game in its entirety.

Not a bad game, great for 5 hours, but has problems:
- Collision - sometimes you can be stuck not being able to jump with nothing above you - That jump is really floaty which makes the game feel less solid.
That's it I guess. Music is competent but short looped which gets repetitive, game doesn't have too much more to it than just this core.

Cool game, the music goes well with the game :)
I really like the simplicity of the game! Definitely some things I would change as a lot of other commenters mentions, such as the movement physics and collisions. but All that being said, great job!

Simple and effective take on the theme. It definitely needs some work on controls (specially the jump) and the collisions against the blocks, but for a 5-hour game you packed a lot of stuff and the key mechanics are clear. Well done!
Simple and fun game. I also like the simple art. However, I do agree with others on the jump being floaty and some collision issues. But for a 5 hour game, it is really well made. Well done!

Nice prototype for 5 hours;)
Well done! I played this live on stream, you can find it here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298886771 at around the 49 minute mark
This game is begging for more precision. Make the jump better by increasing jump height while the jump button is pressed, this way players can choose how much to risk when the jump up. And jumping up is indeed risky because you may hit blocks on your way up and you don't know what kind of board you're coming back down to. I like that sort of challenge.

All and all a good game:) Liked the music too!
Hey that's pretty good! Nice little concept and execution. If this was made in 5 hours you can be really proud of yourself :) Good job! My feedback would be that the jump seems a bit high, and then suddenly the gravity kicks in when you're at your highest point: that feels a bit unnatural to me. I think it would be more of a challenge to make the jump less high, because you have to worry about not falling in a deep hole too! Anyway, good job!

@virtual-turtle-studio Thanks for the feedback! And yes, I did make it in 5 hours only.

It's very simple for sure, but it's fun, and wouldn't need much more to reach its potential. Only things like having some audio at the very beginning so you know your volume level and don't get blasted by noise once you start the game, making the jump lower and quicker... that's about what I can think of. At first, I was confused as to what to do, but it didn't take long before I figured it out. Only about a round or two.
I like that the high score remains even if you close the page and open it again. That's almost creepy.
Your game is a great example of how to find fun gameplay efficiently. While I probably put more effort into my game and made it much more complex than yours, I'd say your game is a great deal more fun. If you'd like to prove me wrong (or right!), please do! It's called Feedrun. Thanks!
@wfmg Thanks for the feedback and sure, I'll check your game out

The jump was not consistent. The overall game was fun. Initially I was wondering how to die in the game because some of the collisions were not killing me. I enjoyed playing the game, there is nothing groundbreaking here but it was fun.
@anubhav-kashyap I really dig the visuals and loved the simple yet fun to play game. It has a huge potential as a mobile game with some polishing to do. Overall great game kid, and do play our game too and leave ur feedback. Would appreciate that a lot.
@abhis1kadian Thanks for playing! I'll be playing your game as soon as I can :)

Hey @anubhav-kashyap , I am also 14 years old and I am programming since I am 11 years old (actually started coding on paper without even having acces to a computer). Would you like to chat a bit with me? if so, feel free to add me on discord edgelord314#8944. By the way, I like your game, but I would appreciate to have a build for downloading.
Nice game, especially for 5 hours! Keep up the good work!

Thank you everybody for playing my game!

@anubhav-kashyap Great!
@edgelord I added you on Discord.
Simple but fun game. The jump is kind of floaty and would prefer more gravity being applied here. The shadows also do not seem to line up to the blocks. Max I got to was a minute. Good job completing the game in such a short time frame!

2018-08-21 17:03
The game is simple but fun and fit the theme. I like the fact that you use simple shapes with only few colors, that's a good way to do a nice looking game even if you are not a graphic designer. Music does the job. In my opinion, it would have been cool if the cubes was projecting their shadows to the ground to have a feedback if a cube will crush us.
It's pretty fun, especially for the time you had to make it, but the collisions are a bit off and the shadows are pretty useless for determining where a block will fall at present.

2018-08-21 22:36
This in 5 Hours? Thats extremely impressive - bearing in mind that everything looks so polished.
Because the camera is at an angle (which looks cool btw), it can be difficult to determine where the blocks are landing at times.
When jumping I seem to linger up in the air a bit too much.
You seem to have a knack for this. For the next LD, you may want to forget about schoolwork - would be interested to see what you can make in 48/72hrs... Joking school is important lol.
A simple yet fun mini game indeed! Just one tiny thing - it is quite difficult to see which column the block is falling through. Maybe one can consider this as a challenge of the game, but I would love to see more accurately to help make a better decision.

Nice and simple game and certainly impressive that it is done in 5hrs. Good job. Think the mood would be better if the game was in 2d with a retro feel. Just my thoughts. Great job
Great Scott! This was super fun to play :D I'm a big fan of these types of Tetris-y games and I love the music. Sort of reminds me of The Life Aquatic OST. Well Done!
Well done for 5h. Although I have to say, that the jumps are pretty inconsistent (one time you jump into space, the next time you are lucky to jump a block) and (that's just my opinion) I would only kill the player if he is on the ground when hitting an enemy and not while jumping through the air. Still really liked it.
Nice little game, fun take on the theme although I have seen it before in this game: https://gamejolt.com/games/tetris-climber/173625 which I really liked but it's a bit different. I agree the jump is a bit inconsstent and too high sometimes. Overall nice submission, the music was also well done and added to the gameplay experience.
This is very impressive, considering you spent only 5 hours making it. I'm not sure I could deliver anything playable at all in such a short timeframe. Despite being very simplistic, the graphics are easy on the eye and one might say that not much more in terms of visuals is really needed for a game such as this. The controls deserve a rating of "good enough" but will probably require more work to be more precise, in case you decide to work on this game further. Music is definitely the strongest part: it creates the beat, to which one just wants to keep playing.
All in all, well done! Looking forward for more awesome games from you.
Great job for five hours!
I would have liked the shadows to cast straight down onto the blocks. The wall was a help, but the angle made it hard to see what was going on sometimes.
I didn't like how high you jumped up. It felt perilous making every jump! I would make the jump more controlled with less vertical height - maybe add a double jump if needed (I noticed at one point I needed all that height to jump from the right to the left side after a stream of centre blocks).
Nice one!

it's not that difficult to make a game in five hours. the hardest thing about that is that you have to keep it really simple, but also polished. this game is probably the best example for that i have seen so far. you managed to make a 5 hour-game, that seems to be completed with very little flaws. it's not much, but the only problem i saw was the isometric view, but besides that i've seen no problems at all. good job!
Realy nice Game

@anubhav-kashyap what a co-incidence i m also 14 are you from india i guessed from your name.i m from india!and yeah it was fun playing the game.
I like the simple graphics and cool music. the cube jumps too high in my opinion and the red blocks are appearing really fast. maybe the game can start a little easier. this can be really challenging if you develop it further.

2018-08-23 16:16
Great polish for a game made in such short time. I would maybe change the scoring from time to height reached. Also as others are saying the blocks come a little fast but I might just change the height that they are spawning instead of slowing them down.
Very cool idea! And it's impressive what you managed to get done in 5 hours! Good job man!
This is quite unique, it really stands out from anything I've seen with this camera angle... It's also pretty fun, I lasted 1.22 :) This achieves very nicely what it set out to do, given your time frame it's quite a big feat ! Congratulations

2018-08-23 18:42
nice little game, by far the most ratings on a game ive seen so far so thats pretty neat. Few criticisms, as others said collision was wonky, also jump height wasnt consistent, seemed like I was able to bounce higher by timing jumps as you touch the base. Doing this a few times let me jump much higher than the area where the blocks were even spawning
all that said its pretty incredible for 5hr
I think you have a bug where pressing W and SPACE at the same time jumps extra high.

Nice work! Very simplistic and fun. Music was made quite well, definitely suited the game. Collisions were a bit buggy, and I really didn't like how gravity felt and functioned. Other then that, this is a really fun and simple game. Good job, keep it up! :)

Good job, especially for a 5 hour game. I am surprised that you found the time to make such well done music tracks in that time. People have already commented on shadows, collisions and jump height, so I can only say: keep up the good work. :v:
Great job for 5 hours, and a neat take on the theme  as everyone else has said, collisions and jumping are a bit odd, but for 5 hours that's fine
Nice and addictive game for 5 hours. Also found hidden mechanic, I can use wall jump to climb on tower top
Very impressive for only 5 hours. Simple yet fun. The physics are a bit buggy and jumpy sometimes but that is kinda expected with that short of time. One suggestion I have is to maybe disable the falling cubes rigidbody (I guessing that you use them) when they have landed and are still because after a while its get a bit performance heavy and they tend to freak out if you jump on them.
Fine work on the game! I see you're an Indian as well, and your age is around me (I'm 16 xD). Overall, I enjoyed it, the take on the theme was pretty unique. A more than impressive game for 5 hours, despite of being buggy! Feel free to try out my game if you want.
It is a really good game !^
Aside from what most of people pointed out until now, I noticed it was much easier playing the game if I stayed in the right corner, watching out the shadow of the boxes that were to fall, dodged them, and then went back to that corner. I know a game depends of what you make of it, so I quickly abandonned that technique, as it is much funnier to stay in the middle ;)
Anyways, you did an amazing job in so little time, and I enjoyed it ^^

Nice idea. The graphics were clean and the music, despite being a bit repetitive, was fitting for the game style. The jumping did feel a little weird, but overall a good submission.

Simple and fun. The red blocks should spawn a lot higher, as when you jump up, you can actually jump past the spawn height. Other than that, it's a solid, fun little entry.
This is a really good project for such little time. I like the simple visual aesthetic. I think the only issue I could find was that the jump is very floaty. I think for this kind of game the jump needs to be short and quick so the player can quickly jump onto other blocks, it might also be worth getting wall jumping to get over taller columns.
For 5 hours work this is awesome! very simple and yet is a lot of fun! The UI is very good and the general simplistic style of the game fits it perfectly! The jump feels a little strange but is actually very nice when you get used to it, Very well done!
Fantastic job for just 5 hours! Great hyper-casual game, I think. You should finish it and release as a full game. I liked the simple, fun and challenging mechanics. Very intuitive gameplay.
@roman-petrov Thanks for the support!
@jamison Only? I was only able to get 32!
Excellent game (especially for 5 hours)! However, I'm still going to give pointers as if it were made in the full 48. Here's how I broke down the score:
FUN: It was definitely fun! Some elements of the graphics made the gameplay a bit more (unnecessarily) difficult, and I'll detail that below, but overall it feels action-packed and a joy to play. I did have a bug where I fell onto the top of a block and it killed me. The jumping felt a little floaty and inconsistent (reminding me of your previous jam effort). It might be about time to start rewriting that jump code  For a post-jam version a few gameplay variations would be nice so it isn't just the same blocks over and over again. Some blocks explode when you touch them, clearing out other blocks, etc. 3/5, a solid effort!
INNOVATION: I don't think there's a whole lot here mechanically (again, 5 hours), so this category gets 1.5/5.
THEME: I don't think the theme allowed for much interpretation. However, I gave this category a 3/5 since you weren't representing it as physical objects (crates, packages, etc) but as a simple abstract.
GRAPHICS: The graphics are stellar! A couple things caught my attention: Having the light source more parallel to the wall would have helped the player 'see' where the blocks are coming down, instead of having it at an angle like it is. I also think for such a minimalist game, the shadow quality could have been increased. Overall though they were great, 4.5/5!
AUDIO: The audio was a bit repetitive, though it definitely helped the action-packed feel of the game. I gave it a 2/5.
OVERALL: I gave the game a 3.5/5, mostly due to the INNOVATION and AUDIO categories. I think that with development this could make an excellent mobile title and could bring you quite a bit of success!
Good job, it's quite a lot to do in 5 hours!
@samusoidal Thank you for your detailed feedback! I am planning to remake this for mobile, hopefully it's a success!

Wow! Five hours is not long to make a game, which shows you have great programming skills...... Graphics were perfect, however I did find the jumping mechanic a little bit wonky. If you increased the fall rate a little bit, or even decreased the height that the player will jump, that would make the game much more enjoyable. However, you did only have five hours, so well done!

I liked it! The concept is really cool and it's well made. The sounds are good, it's well polished. Just the gravity, I thought it was kind of wonky, but maybe I just need to get used to it. Great job!

Interesting little game, it was especially fun to jump between the blocks in mid-air while they were falling!
0:28 seconds! It's simple, it works, and it's fun. Nothing more you could ask for from an LD entry! I only wish the jumping were a little tighter, seemed abit floaty at times, but otherwise good job!
