Atominus by EggDestroyer 2012-04-26T10:49:00

Thanks for your feedbacks guys, it's really interesting !

SusanTheCat > Yep, I had several similar feedbacks too, which is really a shame because I wanted to put a "mute sound" button but was just too lazy to do it, even if it was quite simple. It'll teach me a lesson ! :)

Sudorossy > No, don't worry, you're not dumb :), a lot of people had a lot of trouble to understand how to play too, the "tutorial" is terrible and the moving grapping-particle is quite confusing ;) Thank you for trying it anyhow :)

DropPix by AtkinsSJ 2013-05-13T18:19:00

Fun and clear. :)

Super 1-Bit Space Arena by Orni 2013-05-08T22:34:00

Fun game, may lack diversity in weapons or longer & better looping music, but works well, lovely graphics, good job ! (high score around 16 !)

Neonisation by Hegemege 2013-05-13T11:32:00

Good job, nice concept, well put, and good atmosphere, but the menu is frustrating, isn't there a way to retry an already made level without skipping to it ?

Gods Will Be Watching by Deconstructeam 2013-04-30T11:06:00

Truly excellent.

0 by Cosmologicon 2013-05-10T11:20:00

You could've used a first tutorial level "full circle" in which you just connect 2 dots, just so the player would figure out what to do easier. Also, somewhat steep difficulty curve. Apart from that, very elegant and smart game, well done.

Insert Name Here by Syawra 2013-05-13T17:14:00

I... I think I love you.
Really, I actually laughed while playing this game, and I'm actually thinking of showing your game to people asking me "wtf is game design ?".

Robot Boogie by Skulls 2013-05-11T16:01:00

Let's boogie ! The controls are awkward IMO (confused me during the whole game), I never used my gadgets as only shooting is enough, the small freezes between the modes are a bit annoying and I feel the enemies behaviour is quite random. But the whole "disco" mood is so excellent I still enjoyed the game a lot, and the whole sound design is excellent. Good job :D

Kriok by someone 2013-05-12T11:15:00

Stuck at level 5. Good game, works well, but too hard too fast IMO. Also lacks a "mute" button or a longer music loop as it becomes annoying.

Russian Blob by alcazar 2013-04-30T06:42:00

Everything is just fucking awesome. Excellent mechanics, ridiculously fun audio (tho a bit annoying after the 7635th "JUMP !"), random yet great theme & graphics... GBA. You guys blew my mind.

Metahotel by Christian S. 2013-05-08T23:03:00

I had no problems to sort out which color was going to be the next thanks to your clever small square reminder on top right (tho I actually understand how it would be hard for some people).
You should maybe trace the grid between color zones as it's somehow hard to guess which zone you're gonna color up otherwise, and yeah the little guys could have an improved AI.

Otherwise, really an excellent game. I finished it and wanted more. Very enjoyable. Good job !

shon by bitnenfer 2013-05-12T12:25:00

Good atmoshpere, well made and interesting, kept me interested for quite a long time. But sometimes I felt I couldn't do anything to prevent parasites from getting me due to the bubble spawn rate limitation. I don't really know what to do against this issue. Also, your audio loop could be better :) But good game overall, I liked it.

Stalker by The Consul 2013-05-02T20:30:00

Yann said pretty much everything I think, so I won't repeat. :)

Also, the last picture is very nice.

IMBARINTH by brookman 2013-05-06T11:53:00

I felt it a bit random. I wasn't sure which strategy I was supposed to adopt, so I ended up waiting near the particle square a lot of times, which eventually bore me. Apart from that, the game looks and feels great, mostly due to its nice neon-ish atmosphere and fitting music.

Rainbow Rocket by Zccc 2013-05-11T16:56:00

Ok, I liked your game. A lot of things are well made : innovative controls, good atmosphere, elegant graphics. Still, controlling the ship is IMO really hard, maybe you could have put some feedback on the trajectory of the ship (a dot line ?) or made it a bit more responsive... somehow. I had very hard time to control it even if I really wanted. But hey, that's the price for innovation ! Thanks for the experience ! :D

U by KEFIR 2013-05-12T11:03:00

Not bad, but the fade effect on death is too long as you can die a lot in the game (it annoyed me). Also a bit frustrated by the hitbox of the saw, sometimes I felt my deaths a bit unfair. Apart from that, your game is nice :)

A by infernet89 2013-05-13T18:34:00

I enjoyed the experience. The transitions are really nice, and I felt sort of like watching a pleasent animation. Some "magic" happened here, really. However, several game design points bugged me a little.
For starters, I didn't like that much staying too long on a particular game, as the main pleasure source for me came from the discovery of the next game (I've played enough of the "classics" not to enjoy sub-versions of them as much). The arkanoid level especially is very slow, mostly because this game is slow to begin with, and the collision box didn't feel "right". I died just after it because I couldn't play the "pong-like" game, and I was very, very surprised to see that I could actually die despite several failures in precedent games : was it really necessary for the experience ?
But these points are mostly polish-related, and I already praise you for doing such a fine job in just 48h. Thanks !

A Simple Circle by zatyka 2013-05-12T12:14:00

The audio "beep" sounded extremly annoying to my ears and I wish I could mute the music (not "bad", just, not my style). Also, you could've introduced shapes a bit faster to give a better "variety" feeling. I'm stuck at lv13, which my be too hard for me ?
But the game is simple yet very enjoyable, it reminds me "The Incredible Machine" (lite version :D), and scoring by using less shapes is smart. Also, the zoom effect is immersive. Good job man :)

Words by Andy Go 2013-04-29T14:25:00

Fun turn of events, I enjoyed the "screenplay" and sweet graphics in general, some strange force kept me interested by the dialogue (maybe the somehow wacky proposed answers ?), too bad you can't replay the labyrinth at the end :p

Less is More? by atraxgames 2013-05-12T11:46:00

Some levels are a bit tedious (the 2nd one for example) and that "Buuuurn" level is somehow too hard (I'm not sure how I've done it). Apart from that, this is excellent and very well made, very satisfying, nicely fitting the theme and everything.

Tech Troop Tim's Big Pay Day by Guardian_Bob 2013-05-03T18:18:00

Works very wall, I was amazed. Good job !

PLOG by Gungnir 2013-05-12T12:36:00

Cool. Enjoyed it, good atmosphere (audio loop a bit short ?). But lacks challenge, so I stopped the game because I was bored, not dead. With some extra work on the pacing & challenge elements (speed, shape form...) your game would be excellent :)

Sociales Santillana by Ithildin 2013-05-01T15:58:00

I read your post-mortem after playing, I don't have anything else to say :p
I had trouble to understand the controls but once I did, I had a lot of fun. I found the pentagon level harder than the hexagon, which seems weird.

Random Objects Smash by Moist 2013-05-03T18:22:00

Not bad. Have indeed an "unfinished" feeling and kinda awkward controls, but the graphics are very satisfying (grow bubbles, evil cubes ! And BAM ! Blow up !), as are the sfx. Well done :)

16 by Xaychru 2013-05-06T12:03:00

I felt hypnotized by the game, feeling an urge to play more and more. You did a good job.

Although, you managed to give the game a very frenetic pace thanks to the music and, well, the gameplay; yet you don't seem to reward speed skill too much. Maybe it would be great to have a "combo timer" of 1s or so, increasing each time you collect a coin within its range, and gaining extra coins & reseting to 0 when you fail to catch it, something like this, which would encourage the player to go faster and then hypnotize him even more.

Still, everything else is solid. Well done !

Stomp Space by dark_hunter 2013-05-13T18:09:00

Gorgeous theme and nice idea, unfortunately awkward controls (stomp hitbox approximative, no turning back and so), keep it up tho

Priorities by hissssssssss 2013-05-03T13:10:00

Interesting concept and atmosphere :) But it could use more polish in terms of game design (balance, rate of spawn, fun of the game). Nevertheless, I liked your intention quite much !

The Minimalism Quest by Pol 2013-05-12T11:30:00

The ending was way darker than the rest of the game and somehow ruined my experience, which was really pleasant and humourous so far. I'm not sure what you wanted to achieve here o_O
Also, shifting between mouse with & without click felt a bit awkward to me, as I had to think about which control to use instead of doing it fast, which doesn't seem to fit so well with the "wario ware" experience.

But the game looks nice and made me laugh (before the ending), and is fun to play overall :)

Life! by cwilloughby 2013-05-04T10:08:00

Can you hit two keys at the same time ? It seems I can't. Some problems about feedbacks (brightness, when to hit the keys), but the idea is great and the experience is overall enjoyable. :)

Potato Dungeon by _Rilem 2013-05-07T11:49:00

The controls are awkward, the jump is quite floppy and I don't really see the "minimalist" part (even gameplay wise).
Apart from that, I had a lot of fun playing (I finished it eagerly), the level design is very well done and the whole graphic & audio work is fantastic !

Tessitron by radmars 2013-05-11T15:38:00

105540. I had trouble to remember which color was associated with which letter, as there's no "column" like in traditional rythm games, so I mashed buttons sometimes. But you created an excellent atmosphere with great screenplay and good dynamic sound effects. I felt a little bt like in Rez for some reason. I enjoyed my play very much and I'll probably replay it. :)

A thing about nothingness by Pierrec 2013-05-01T19:50:00

Damn, it seems I've found 10 different "endings", but no one implying my victory. I wonder what I've missed. But it means I enjoyed the game - even if I'm usually not fond of this kind of experience. The harmonica helped a lot :), but the whole lot is well done. Good job !

Brutaliz'Art LD26 by lotusgame 2013-05-11T15:17:00

MINIMALIZED, BITCH !

Pete Hated Circles by bgr 2013-05-12T11:22:00

At the beginning I thought my goal was to separate balls. Once my goal became clear, I had a lot of fun, the game is well done, fitting the theme and interesting, tho lacking sound.

Still, I was disappointed not to have any score at the end. A ladderboard would be extraordinary, but a regular score marker anywhere would be nice.

Minimalist Game by lilzy 2013-05-13T17:21:00

Somehow

Flight Time by Lerc 2013-05-09T08:36:00

I think you put the "minimalism" part too far tho, as you could use some basic indication, something saying which level you are doing, more meaningful feedback on how you grab & launch the ball and so on. The game wouldn't have been less "minimal" IMHO :)
But the concept is neat and the progression is well done, though it seems a bit random sometimes. Good work !

Escape the Minimalism by klianc09 2013-05-11T11:09:00

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this that much, as I'm usually not fond of "random platformers". But you managed to put a very strong atmosphere, really. I also felt like some color-addict who wanted more drugs. I disliked the theme and I love the way you used it backwards. Excellent work, really, I like it !! Too bad the controls are so stiff, a smoother jump could've been better as your game is already quite hard.
Also, this "random volume shifting" may be a bug but I enjoyed it a lot :D And I appreciate your note about music !

Orbicular by metalcan 2013-05-13T19:16:00

Haydn read my mind. Same thoughts.

Earth Defender by Hellequin 2013-05-01T15:15:00

Well, yeah, hard, even in easy mode. But the game works, looks decent and is understandable, that's already a lot !

I Know Nothing by MathiO 2013-05-13T18:43:00

I felt I was killing my poor cube and I didn't want him to die... Maybe you could've emphased more on this, as I'm afraid I don't really get the point of the game in its current state. But I admit I was sucked in a weird, sad atmosphere, and that's well done :)

PATCh by egos 2013-04-29T14:09:00

Not a bad game, quite fun, but seems to be "random" as you don't have any information on the next patch. So you have to figure out strategies mostly based on luck, given you have been able to create useful zones earlier. Some additional sfx or a bit improved graphics (mostly on the title screen) couldn't hurt also.

Still a cool concept, well crafted and fitting the theme :-)

AlterSpace by guestcheap 2013-04-29T11:53:00

Well made and interesting but lacks challenging puzzles, only the last one made me think a little ! The jumps feel a bit strange too, more responsivity could enhance the experience, along with a faster "Edit mode trigger" on Space. Also the music loop is a bit annoying imo.

Still was a pleasant experience :)

Random Legend Adventure by Captain_Genial 2013-05-01T11:45:00

Not bad at all ! It's quite beautiful and though the "generic RPG simulator" idea have been worked on quite a bit those last years, I found it quite funny.

It sometimes feels a bit glitchy (collisions mostly, and some strangs things happening, random deaths or stuff) and the forest level is a mess, I couldn't figure out smoothly where to go. With extra polish, you could do wonders. :)

Cube_Story by Szedouu 2013-05-04T10:12:00

Might lack some "game" part, but interesting experience and good job for your first entry :)

Root Route! by netpro2k 2013-05-13T19:39:00

This is easily one of the most polished games I've seen so far in this LD. The blooming flower, the smooth camera movements, the energy gestion... The level of details is damn high, yet you succeded everywhere, as your game is gorgeous, moody, challenging and downright interesting.

Still, some points could be improved. I'll just quote Julian Ceipek who nailed it :
"1. The root growing graphics should be smoother and make the location of the root more obvious. While playing, the split point becomes ingrained in the player, but I had to look at the root out of the corner of my eye because the twisting was actually uncomfortable to watch. By the time I finished the game, it took me a few seconds before I stopped having the impression that the game player was rippling.
2. The cool-down time for splitting needs to be made more obvious, or removed. Every time I tapped the spacebar and nothing happened, I felt that the game had unpleasantly ripped control away from me.
3. The level layout needs to be apparent at the start. Angry Birds does this very well with a panning animation. I think that would work well here, too. "

Also, I still think the difficulty curve may be a bit high and more variety wouldn't hurt : maybe for a full released version I hope you WILL do someday !! :)

Writer's Block by Christopher Schulte 2013-05-01T14:46:00

It didn't seemed like much for me, I thought I was missing something, but at the end, I made several haikus and I liked it.
Very interesting idea, which could have been magnified by soothing music and peaceful sound effects... which is really hard to do anyway, and nothing is better than unfitting themes.

Bayou by paulmcgg 2013-05-07T11:21:00

It took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do (and I instantly lost my spear) and I couldn't "do it", and eventually got bored. Still, the sole atmosphere (audio & visual) of the game kept me in for a while as it's very, VERY well done :)

Ascenion by kreischweide 2013-05-07T11:00:00

Sadly, I didn't get it at all

QbQbQb by rezoner 2013-05-12T00:22:00

A lot of great things here, and a very high level of polish, I'm impressed.

The only thing I'd have perfected is the pacing of the game, as it's IMO too slow to start, and the challenge don't come fast enough, but at the end don't rise too high when it's supposed to be sper hard. I stopped around 1050 with my 3 lives because I became bored.

Everything else is just great, especially your use of the theme. :)

Agoraphobia by PiotGuy 2013-05-10T10:48:00

Looks interesting but I couldn't pass the second level as I didn't understand how the cubes behave. Not like it's easy to do in 48h tho :)

Mind the Gap by shiprib 2013-05-13T19:28:00

A delight for brains, yet very relaxing. Very well made and elegant. Of course, some polish elements about the ramp, pause, awkward lines and so on would be great, but nothing unusual for a Ludum dare entry.

Skware by tankete 2013-05-04T09:06:00

It took me some time to figure out what's going on, probably due to the lack of clear feedbacks. Also, I find it a bit frustrating to insta-lose my cubes after picking them, or when a blink cube appears on my character then I take it and lose another one.

Apart from those points, I liked your game. It's interesting, challenging, well made and satisfying. Good job :)

5 x Space by Back to Browse Entries 2013-05-13T16:37:00

Nice mood, but can't proprely control my character unfortunately...

Bezier Challenge by Travis Irby 2013-05-07T11:07:00

I had quite a lot of fun and the idea is interesting (the "maths nerd" living in my spirit is pleased !). But as the game is very challenging, it could have used more explanations about what's going on (bouncing and stuff).
Also, what a peculiar idea to have different sounds for no reason ! But I liked it !

IAO by Rafael Sales 2013-05-03T13:25:00

The dots hitboxes could be bigger and/or the rotation speed could be faster: it would decrease the difficulty a bit, and the frustration of not being able to catch a figure because you can't turn fast enough, but without reducing the fun. Right now, I was kinda frustrated.

But that's balance and tweaking, almost nitpicking for a 48h entry. Apart from that, that's one of the best entries I've played so far. Especially, I can't believe you managed to create such a catchy and fitting tune in so little time without cutting other things. Your concept is elegant, original and well made, and you used the theme almost magically. Congratulations.

Alien Astroids by AngryCubeDev 2013-05-13T16:48:00

Good job on doing the game, it's enjoyable, I had fun, but it's indeed a bit basic (lacks sounds, better shooting, increased difficulty curve etc...). Keep it up ! :)

The Painter's Cat by Arcana 2013-05-08T21:00:00

This game is a very strange case of "I'm not sure why but I love it !". The controls are odd to me and I can't figure out a real strategy, but you immersed me within a wonderful atmosphere ! I felt a very good mood, maybe because the game sounds and looks peaceful, relaxing, and including a cat dreaming. I liked it so much ! Thank you !

Square Circle Triangle by my.digital.decay 2013-05-04T09:10:00

Looks good, that's it. You should put some notice somewhere to help people figure out that you can't do anything but jump/morph :)

WORDHUNTER by gerritg 2013-04-29T18:18:00

Nice concept, smooth game, classic and solid gameplay with surprisingly satisfying sounds and fitting graphics, but yeah, it's really difficult to actually spell words.

I think one of the major problem is that every letter comes in with equal probability (ot at least that's what I think), so you may come up with 8 consonants (obviously W, X, Z...). That, and the unfortunate missing shots fucking up your word (for which I have no obvious solution).

Three in One? by ndssia 2013-04-29T11:13:00

Lotsa fun. The pellet man really cracked me up :'D
I understood how works the 3rd game, the idea is fun but I found it a bit more tedious (and why do you suddenly have to actually think ? :p)

But I love the way you used the theme. Kudos :D

IIII by Kuupu 2013-05-12T13:00:00

I couldn't master the controls at all, I had no clue how to dash, sometimes an unwanted dash was triggered. Also, I didn't feel very challenged during my game, you may want to improve the pacing (faster action to fit the music, faster mob - the dash would still be meaningful IMO) and the difficulty. Also, is there any difference between shapes ? I thought it was some sort of "shield", but no...

But overall a nice concept and good atmosphere, congrats for your good work :)

Boom Box by WhatTheTeam 2013-05-04T08:40:00

The idea is nice, but the game is very hard and quite frustrating. Sometimes, I felt like walls were randomly appearing and breaking any possibility for me to continue. Also, some variety in the circles patterns would make the game less "mechanic", along with some feedbacks on score. I don't get what's the difference between the tutorial and the arcade mode. Last thing, the controls felt super awkward for me, I always wanted to use "left & right" instead of "up & down", but that's more personnal.

Apart from that, as I said I enjoyed the idea :) and the game is working and visually appealing. Good job !

Pixel Dominoes by Pinkerator 2013-05-03T11:43:00

Very simple game, elegant. Not bad :)

360 by ShellfishGames 2013-05-04T09:18:00

Simple, efficient. Could use some polish (nothing surprising for a 12h game tho) by putting boundaries and less... greenish... text :D but overall I enjoyed it. Well done :)

Subtract by SlamBlasta 2013-05-04T08:31:00

The idea is nice, unfortunately it lacks clear score explaination and feedbacks allowing the player to make up a strategy (other than boxing the whole screen), the space bar doesn't seem very functionnal. It's quite hard to read the text too ! But you finished it, which isn't so easy for a first LD. Keep up !

QTris by Qrchack 2013-05-01T11:19:00

Tetris ! Can't manage to have sound tho.

Protect! by kruse230 2013-05-01T10:15:00

Worked for me. The idea is interesting and the game IS minimal, but you could really use a "mute" button or a better looping music :) And the game is a bit slow unfortunately.

Unfurl by TeamEagle 2013-05-08T21:27:00

Very polished, excellent atmosphere. I wish you could put a reminder of what's on the scrolls when you select them, it would imply less random unfurling (and more "zen" as too much scroll sound can be annoying). Apart from that, great, great job.

Street of Rave by TinyDrakkarStudio 2013-05-08T22:02:00

"Street of rave" !? :D

Lines by albertnez 2013-05-01T09:53:00

I reached 33. Really minimal, that's great ! Quite fun also. Felt a bit "luck-driven" sometimes tho. Good music !

Unst by Milo 2013-05-04T09:42:00

I'm stuck at "Tetris". The difficulty ramp is very high, the game becomes way more difficult at "The chosen one". But it made me think a lot : I liked the challenge. You managed to make an interesting puzzle game with a good looking aspect and fitting music (tho a bit repetitive after 10mn, but that's bearable). Extremely simple yet deep. Congrats !

PRISMA by Dark Acre Jack 2013-05-01T10:09:00

Interesting atmosphere and use of sound. Unfortunately, I can't pass the "Black & white & red all over" level because I'm not sure what switching to red actually do...

Hubu Handler by derdragon 2013-05-04T09:59:00

This is so incredibly cute !!! It's a bit short and simple if you do things "right" and it would really make use of a gentle background music, but it's so beautiful and full of good mood ! I really liked it ! Also, I'm more than curious to see how you made it with Game Maker, I could learn some tricks :)

Right Side of the Road by ethankennerly 2013-05-13T16:43:00

Wouldn't be fair to note "overall & fun" : as a non-native English speaker, I can't keep up. But I enjoyed the style of the game and its idea, both strange and interesting.

Aduno by Justin Mullin 2013-05-06T11:37:00

This game is great. It may lack IMO some difficulty progression and sometimes puzzles seems to be too much optimisable to be interesting, but it's really hard to achieve this sort of things with so little time. Apart from that, the level of polish is quite, and the "minimalism" part is smart. Well done !

Dock Zone by Farfin 2013-04-29T18:57:00

Impressing atmosphere with great audio, good gameplay and a surprisingly high level of polish. Congrats !

Cornelis by Dry Tree 2013-05-12T16:39:00

More explainations on the outcomes (% of the painting painted ? coins ? time ? How to improve my score between those parameters ?) could help a lot to appreciate the full potential of the game faster. Still, fun mechanic, quite innovative, and good atmosphere. Thanks !

Prism by Tapestry 2013-05-01T15:30:00

A bit hard too early imo, and I was a bit confused about how the color mixes work. Also I think the color rhombuses-thingies shouldn't appear on the snake (they're behind him and you can't see them). Otherwise, well made, more interesting that the regular snake and fun :)

Drug Hunt by kill0u 2013-05-11T11:28:00

75444 pts ! Some mini-games are unforgiving and way harder so it seems a bit unfair (mushroom-words-potato thingie is almost impossible), and sometimes it's hard to figure out when to act (pill-drug games mostly).
Apart from that (polish thingies), this is BY FAR the most fucked up entry I've played so far, yet I enjoyed it a lot, as you managed to throw insane things on my face yet kept me entertained for several games. Really an excellent job here guys :D

Alien Raid by LTyrosine 2013-05-02T20:12:00

Although the game lacks some clearer feedbacks on selection, some balance between units and rythm and that sort of things, the whole idea of making a minimal RTS in so little time is quite impressive. Also, the game looks good and sfx/audio are fine. Good job guys :)

Cottonhead by Patacorow 2013-05-04T08:49:00

I'm impressed :) The game looks gorgeous, is very simple yet satisfying to control, and put me in a good mood as it's so super-fluffy and colorful :) It's not super innovative and the King should be more accessible to prevent any pointless roaming, but that's nitpicking.

Cube Defender by kratorspore 2013-05-01T15:09:00

Very smart gameplay idea, but you may be hesitating too much between reflexes and reflexion. It's some kind of puzzle game, you have to think to avoid being unable to finish it, yet the cubes just come in, encouraging a faster reaction. So I shot everywhere and didn't think that much, because doing both would be too difficult (or maybe you need some more tutorial levels or a difficulty ramp with several levels).

Yet it is hard to achieve such reflexion in 48h :) And the overall experience is pleasant, the sfx are good. Well done.

Traite de taoisme applique aux canons lasers by Griffablanc 2013-04-29T16:45:00

How is that related to the theme and where's the "taoism" part ? Gameplay-wise, how are you supposed to know which laser to dodge ?
IMO, you probably should've put the score somewhere else so you can really see your avatar. Also, triggering a sound when a new laser appears seems to be an useful feedback.
The idea is neat though :)

The Fair King by caranha 2013-05-09T10:11:00

Interesting, well made and challenging.

Apart from the points you already mentionned (releasing the line and so on), I find the "Snake" level difficulty peak way too high, as it took me something like 40 (!) tries to pass it, then I rampaged through many levels, only stopping at "Party". Maybe I misunderstood something ? :p

But I had a lot of fun ! Also, well made audio atmosphere, really !

Aranami by Frozen Fractal 2013-05-13T19:00:00

5/5 mood. Very relaxing, great concept, gorgeous.

Although, the collision box frustrated me sometimes as I wasn't sure if I collided or not. Also, I was stuck for countless movements sometimes when some unfortunate collisions occured, so I think the scoring system isn't really fit.

Polish thingies tho. :)

X PRESS by Pitoum 2013-05-01T12:03:00

The "achievements" up left are hard to read as you're focused on the actual game, and the graphical transitions seems to be dangerous.
Also, I don't know if I have won or lost as I couldn't see the remaining distance anymore after 300m or so on my first run. After restarting & suiciding, it appears that I've won the first time, but I was hoping for some kind of reward. (I don't know if this stuff is relevant :p )

Still, visually worth 5* :) and fun experience overall.

Ultra pong by snade 2013-05-01T11:30:00

Neat concept, the twist is interesting, the game is challenging. The basic color changes got style also. Too bad the game begs for sounds effects or some extra polish.

Cubic by DalsGames 2013-04-29T18:38:00

Reached 606 points on level 1, something around 350 on level 2. Smooth game, excellent music :)

I find the difficulty curve a bit low from 0 to 300, maybe you should reduce the length ? Plus I think I'll never ever be able to go "left & right" with "up & down" keys with a rotation, too bad you didn't include those keys as extra input !

But good fun :)

Pipe Dreams by JAH2488 2013-04-30T15:24:00

I like the satisfying jump feeling and the power up cubes are rather interesting, but the lack of checkpoints makes the game kinda frustrating IMO.
For exemple, the first red block : I discovered it after a long, not so easy sequence, and as I didn't learn how to use it, I died almost right after, respawned at the beginning and then rage-quit the game :-p
It would be better to put it at the beginning of a sequence so you can learn how to use it, even if you die a few times right after it's no big deal, and won't prevent your game to be devilishly hard... just less frustrating :-)

But anyway I enjoyed my play, t'was fun :)

Rad vs Blae by GetFun 2013-05-01T11:10:00

Simple, works well, fun. :)

Y.A.H.G (G for Game) by EggDestroyer 2013-04-29T13:11:00

@AnnaGavaldaKedavra > Still student actually, doing my internship. You too ?
Btw, if by "making negative connexions" you mean "lowering the volume" (this isn't clear I admit), you have to do that to prevent the narrator from yelling too loud, thus killing you.

Stiju > Yep, I have some big issues with the rythm. You die if you don't manage to find the answer to the riddle fast enough, thus forcing you to restart it.

caranha > Glad you like it :) ! And you're right, I kinda mixed "minimalism" with "putting little effort into something I suck at" :D

Thanks for comments guys :)

Y.A.H.G (G for Game) by EggDestroyer 2013-04-29T17:41:00

En fait, la voix l'indique dans le niveau 3... mais c'est pas très audible, et le feedback "flèche - impact sur le volume" est des plus compréhensibles...

Merci pour le feedback :)

Y.A.H.G (G for Game) by EggDestroyer 2013-05-11T23:51:00

Thank you all for your feedback !

Madball : Yes, this is a major issue of the game. I wanted to put subtitles which would blur when the volume is too low, but I just didn't have the time. So the game is downright unplayable if you don't understand vocal English, and even so, it's somewhat difficult...

Christopher Schulte : Yes, indeed, I was afraid of it, this level is quite ill-designed, I should've put more clues in the text before. It was quite hard to manage a good flow & a decent "sort-of tutorial" so this level, serving both purposes, may be a bit light for both, thus flawed !

LD27 — 10 Seconds

A Question of Time & Death by CuberToy 2013-08-26T11:50:00

I killed 65 demons ! Excellent idea, nice realisation, satisfying to play and great take on the theme. What got me killed tho is that I created 2 timers very close so I had to take both at the same time, breaking my game flow. Great entry !

Dungen Dogan's Cursed Crew by Deconstructeam 2013-09-04T11:59:00

Pretty much excellent. I had to give up on the "Cowards" mission but should go back into it sooner or later. It seems like you can avoid any sacrifice if you play more thoughtfully, which is really well thought. Extraordinary level design.

Duke Dashington by AdventureIslands 2013-08-29T11:08:00

Well done ! Neat and satisfying gameplay, excellent graphics and atmosphere. Just lacks some extra levels as you said.

Composition by the 10th Second by NeiloGD 2013-09-04T11:15:00

I wasn't sure about what I was doing until the level 4. You could improve stuff on explaining & smoothing the difficulty curve, as well as stopping the melody 1 or 2 seconds after the success. Still, the idea is cool and the game looks nice !

diGuide by Mysterarts 2013-08-27T11:35:00

Great concept and excellent execution on every level (except maybe the theme). Kudos !

The Call by Yakka 2013-08-27T11:58:00

Well made and satisfying. Rebuilding the story is surprisingly addictive, but may have worked even better with some excuse to make us restart. First LD Compo : success !

Clockwork Cat by patrickgh3 2013-09-06T11:36:00

3:29:29, is it a good ? :)

Very nice game, really cute, but most of all, really a great use of the theme, I liked it ! The jump feels a bit sloppy however

Elevator Pitch by Back to Browse Entries 2013-08-26T17:47:00

Fun idea

Inherity by foumart 2013-09-11T11:30:00

Great ! Excellent work on making a 48h strategy game. Feels a bit random and looks a bit austere, but given the time it's no big deal.

Bug Buster by ConflictiveLabs 2013-09-04T18:59:00

Overall a fun entry, the time-slow is interesting and so is the replay. Unfortunately I became super frustrated because of the very low visibility of bullets in the environnement, which made me feel like I couldn't control anything without the slow-mo mode. Nice music, but gets a bit repetitive !

Clocked In by rylgh 2013-09-11T11:48:00

Excellent work on every field.
I had a lot of trouble to understand the controls, I thought you were actually controlling the clock, not the blue dot. I don't really know why my brain malfunctioned like that, but when I understood the controls, my experience was great ! I barely finished the 30 levels.

Con 10 Sedi by Capro 2013-08-29T11:13:00

Excellent work ! Great take on the theme and nice execution. Loved the music :D

Chronobender by XmmmX 2013-08-28T09:18:00

Quite enjoyable, but I kept the chrono-thingie all along because I saw no point of unactivating it ? And I'm not sure to distinguish the differences between power-ups. Still, fun entry !

10 Seconds Per Meter by antonijn 2013-08-28T18:11:00

Looks good and sounds good, but unfortunately I really didn't get how to play despite the explainations (using the shop / inventory ? what's the actual goal of the game ? what are those numbers going down ?). Also, the shop animation is too slow IMO. Keep it up :)

How long does 10 seconds last ? by AnnaGavaldaKedavra 2013-08-28T11:35:00

Interesting mood and take on the theme. Also, loved the idea of using rhymes. You definitely have to play more than one time to get the grasp of it.

1000ms by Loren 2013-08-30T12:19:00

100000pts or so in 10*10. Insane game, very satisfying audio & flashy colors even if there's pretty much no gameplay. MASH MOAR

Fire, Fire, Burning Bright by Bensonance 2013-08-28T18:04:00

Good job and great graphics, nice audio atmosphere, but I didn't understand how to play (I cycled through resources and gave them, but I didn't get how to have more resources or why my guys kept dying). Some tutorial (and another way to cycle through resources) could be cool for polish :)

Decay by mamoniem 2013-09-04T11:08:00

Nice audio and good graphism, the idea is fun but a bit light or frustrating : your main challenge is basically to find where to click, making the whole dragging thing useless as well as the wheel turning... and it's really hard ! But I still enjoyed the experience, I stopped at level 7 :)

Terminal 10 by alts 2013-09-04T11:00:00

Very funny entry, good idea ! I passed the rythm part by randomly mashing buttons, it's a bit too hard IMO, and you could have changed the sound on success (polish things). But again, lots of fun :)

In The Ocean Blue by Tyu 2013-08-30T11:23:00

A very nice entry for your 1st solo LD. I think I got the idea you wanted to put in your game, even if it lacks, well, everything you said. The graphics are quite nice too, so keep going and come back for the next LD !! :D

Every 10 Seconds a Window Washer Falls to his Death by dom2d 2013-08-29T11:43:00

Everything is really well made, the mechanics are excellent, just love it, good job ! But still, I'm not sure about the theme...

Ab Solanum by doonay21 2013-08-26T11:18:00

Looks and sounds good, quite understandable and feels quite polished, but I have a really hard time to play it, partly because I can't distinguish the sides of the main character so I end up going in the wrong way :( But it's well made.

Woodman for President by lcarpentier 2013-08-29T11:55:00

Oh hey, forgot to comment your game here. Fun entry, good execution rather smart mechanic, I liked the art a lot, and I KILLED TIGERS.

But the 10-secs part feels a bit pointless to me, I don't have time to read everything, and it feels like a way to use a theme you obviously didn't like :p

Audenary by Andrio 2013-09-01T09:40:00

So simple, yet so mesmerezing. Excellent experience.

You may want to write somewhere that the left click doesn't do anything gameplay wise tho (in the beginning, I kept it clicked all the time so I couldn't listen the beautiful bell sound of catching an item).

Power Surge by timothyolt 2013-08-28T18:34:00

Good idea and nice realization. You could use some extra polish on audio & game mechanics (I felt frustrated not to be able to reach the base without shooting enemy robots - I had to wait to counter-attack), including challenge. But the concept prototype is well made. :)

10 Seconds by phi 2013-09-01T08:28:00

Combining "count to 10" with classic timing games is quite a cool idea, making the game surprisingly fun ! The minimalistic-creepy-atmosphere is rather good as well. Good job !

Hallucivian by Hypnohustla 2013-09-01T09:50:00

Everything is absolutely crazy in a good way. The gameplay is also satisfying (the "only the egg matters" is great - tho my pseudonym doesn't approve). Really great work.

Invasion of the GooseNappers by ocmu 2013-08-26T16:31:00

Fun little game. Would enjoy clearer feedbacks (= killing geese is bad, clearer rank at the end) but the game works well :)

Bomb Disposer by glocks 2013-08-29T11:21:00

Great atmosphere, especially music, but I couldn't figure out how to find clues when I reached 3 wires (as I didn't detect anything in the precedent texts), and I don't feel like restarting the whole game (part of which because of the harsh boom-sound I believe, even if it was a really interesting choice). Your work is great and very stressful, I just think I can't handle it proprely to be honest.

Deja Vu by d__adee 2013-09-01T08:41:00

Very good. Excellent take on the theme and great execution overall. The game is indeed a bit frustrating, but it's OK with this design. Well done !

Ten Second Dungeon by Jimanzium 2013-08-28T09:50:00

Good rythm, pleasent to play and surprisingly more fun than expected on the first playthrough, the retro feeling is nice. Still, I wasn't sure about most of the game mechanics (potions ? life points ?), you could use more feedbacks or a clearer GUI.

Chrono Blood Ninja by theholychicken 2013-08-29T11:02:00

Good entry, fun, quite satistying to slice people. The audio loop starts to be quite annoying after a while tho, and the game could use some variety and increased challenges (I stopped playing after getting bored around 22s remaining and 680+ kills because it was repetitive :) ).

Hold My Beer! by Lars Faust 2013-08-28T11:01:00

Fun game with a cool "retro" feeling, but it could use lots of extra feedbacks, like a graphic timer or more explicit goals.

ShuffleLand by rincewind_cz 2013-08-30T11:51:00

Good job. Polished graphics and good audio (tho it could use some extra work on the sound mix), the idea is quite nice. Also really relaxing :)

Still, you should IMO rework the difficulty curve, the first level is way too hard and I had a hard time understanding what was going on (I thought the black circle was the objective). And something to explain the extra features maybe !

Mission Improbable by L0gicaL1nsanity 2013-08-30T11:36:00

Classic idea quite well executed, great for a 1st Jam. I'd like more variety or some control on the jump, as the challenge here is to guess if you have to jump 1 or 2 lasers, which isn't enough for a runner IMO :) Also, I like the graphic style.

Ten second(s) hand-swords by Gaspard_ 2013-08-30T11:17:00

The audio is cool, the game is extremely confusing GUI and gameplay-wise and the graphics need some love, but it's a cool 1st LD entry !

Doc 2 Da Future by mcburrobit 2013-09-01T08:35:00

Weird entry ! The wario-ware-style concept is well done (the "fall" game starts pretty hard tho, and the general games lack actual variety or challenge) but I don't get the link with the doc. The game is fast, but the doctor walks very slowly. The graphics are well done, but they are static and the music is frenetic. I liked the experience overall, but it wasn't really clear about what you wanted to accomplish !

PILLOWMAN Defeats the Robots by Spencer Alves 2013-08-30T11:39:00

Simple, working, but lags a lot and aggressive audio unfortunately

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-09-11T11:23:00

Fun, incredibly catchy music, a bit too dependant on luck but well done !

Withdrawal Syndrome by Supernaught 2013-08-30T11:33:00

Solid entry, nice visuals. Not too fond of the audio volume mix and the jumping mechanism doesn't feel so great, and the game is a bit short. But it still works quite well, and the "check-point pills" are a sweet idea.

Final Glow by Yword 2013-08-27T14:49:00

Such a satisfying game ! The sound of the blade is excellent and the feeling of the game is great. Plus, your take on the theme is fantastic. It just lacks some sort of tutorial to explain some mechanics (purple mob, red & yellow crates), apart frop that it's a really great entry !

HeliHeart by Tokw 2013-08-28T11:26:00

Good job on learning Unity and finishing something guys, keep going !

The Duellists by jay griffin 2013-08-27T21:55:00

Excellent realisation, graphics and polish !

Just 10 more seconds... by TeuTeuf 2013-08-26T15:20:00

Fun little game ! Very easy tho, I stopped after lv18 without being hit.
PS - ENJMIN student ?

Ten Seconds To Live by TiRSO! 2013-09-09T11:30:00

The game looks nice and the idea is interesting. However, two major issues prevented me to have fun while playing it :
- The music pausing each time you investigate an item;
- The awkward "CTRL + SPACE" controls I keep mixing - why not only one button ?

Minty Snak3 by cirpis 2013-08-26T11:02:00

The game looks nice and the idea is cool, but I have a lot of trouble to control the snake with those 2 keys (I'm not good with rotations tho :D). Also the 3rd level should give you a little more time to react. But cool job :)

workhorse: it's my life by kayupla 2013-08-28T10:42:00

Nice atmosphere and idea, I think I see what you wanted to do ! But the game needs some polish now :)

In Vivo by Empyrealhell 2013-09-01T09:21:00

Overall an excellent entry I enjoyed a lot. The whold concept is great and perfectly uses the theme. I used the walkthrough after the 5th upgrade, as the last sequence feels a bit random. It's absolutely stunning you managed to do all this in only 48h.

Some stuff you could IMO improve :
* The fade transitions annoyed me to death. You should speed them up a bit.
* The beginning of the game is a bit obscure, some hints would be welcome, as well as highlighting the items you can pick up.
* Some passages are very narrow, making it very difficult to navigate through the ship. It creates an additional "platforming style" challenge as you have to be very precise in your positionning, which seems a bit out of the place here. I had trouble to reach the 3rd upgrade.
* The controls felt a bit random, especially the "shift" thingy : as it's made to be hold permanently, why do you even have to hold it ? Shouldn't you make the upgrade permanent ? Also, could it be possible to activate telekinetics just by hitting space instead of introducting Ctrl (which is quite inconvenient between "space" and "shift")

Et je vous laisse by Emilien Gorisse 2013-08-28T09:24:00

Great mood and atmosphere. I enjoyed it a lot and it's very well made for an 11h-entry :)

Intensive Care by hoqjed 2013-08-28T11:15:00

Really a great entry with quite a high level of polish, special mentions to the different feedbacks (colors and such). Intense gameplay too.
You could maybe stop the life timer of a patient as soon as you grab him, I felt quite frustrated sometimes when an orange patient turned red just before I released him on a bed.
Also, closing a room when you loose a patient only leads to unwinnable situations as soon as you lose one single guy, so I'm not sure it's the best solution here.

But still, amazing job.

O by Once Upon a Team 2013-09-09T11:35:00

Good job, relaxing, a bit hard to move

Disminer by tnorman 2013-08-28T18:51:00

This game is so fucking insane. I was stressed to death during my play ! I eventually lost because of what's IMO the big flaw of the game : I can't distinguish proprely the 2rd and 4th colour.
Your full-pixel-in-the-face is amazing and so is your intro, but what takes the cake is that ridiculous rythm you managed to infuse in the game with so few tools. Well done, sir.

Light light never fades by coeoliver 2013-08-28T11:21:00

Not bad, there's something. Now time to polish it ! :)

10seconds2Earth by Oxygamer 2013-09-09T11:45:00

Not bad, but the game is overall a bit slow and feels unreactive, keep going :)

Proletarian Ninja X by deepnight 2013-08-26T11:59:00

Amazing. Simply amazing.

10s Zombies by Myyyvothrr 2013-08-28T11:46:00

Finished it. Cool entry, liked the atmosphere and the audio. You could accelerate the game a bit, plus using some feedbacks to indicate the position of your rebirth after one death. I guess the guards could be a bit faster to improve the challenge (= dodging them). Nonetheless, good job !

Hyper Furball by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2013-09-06T11:27:00

The amount of work you put into this game is absolutely stunning. Everything is top notch : art, music, polish level (several environnements ? Several GAME MODES ? Sort-of-balanced upgrades !!??). Only your use of the theme is quite weak imo. I have some remarks if you wanna work on a post-jam version.

I would have liked some extra variety in the enemies behavious tho, and some extra challenge, as the game is quite easy and repeats the same pattern again & again. The "fuzzy cat" (ultimate defense) upgrade isn't so easy to understand either, as I would have expected the block to be absolute to begin with.

Power For 10 by orunbot 2013-08-30T13:37:00

Fun game. Died around Wave 16. Nice polish on technical side, but could use some love on the other fields.

Smart mechanism, but not exploited enough, I ended up camping the middle square and creating turrets on small openings, you could maybe improve the game by adding something (like, you have to trigger all the buttons periodically or something).

Samurai Cafe by caranha 2013-08-26T08:43:00

Hello ! As Zerebruin said, the game works quite well and looks nice. Also, your autotracker music works surprisingly well. But it is quite slow unfortunately.

Also, I tried to create random pizzas before customers came, but then I discovered that I couldn't destroy the useless extra pizzas so I stopped :p

xfxian > Damn, I didn't think about this. I used creative common 0 images from Google and I spent some time modifying them so I thought it would be good.

I should ask the Ludum Dare people then. If necessary, I'll turn it to Jam.

Wow, this is my first video-review ever, that's quite inspiring, thank you so much :D

And, yeah, you are totally right about the big-boom, I should've included one for sure, I don't really know why I didn't :(

Stator Chronicle by Sergey Mohov 2013-08-26T11:44:00

LD28 — You Only Get One

You Only Get One Castle by MaxiPaille 2013-12-18T10:39:00

Actually pretty fun. You could use some tutorial screen to explain the different items as it is not 100% clear (especially the right ones, like the bomb). When you double-click on the apple, the cursor is forever stuck to "apple" state.

One Wish by miwuc 2014-01-05T10:39:00

Quite a fun game, I played it like 3 times to see different possible outcomes. I think it could have been fun to include more possibilities, like several ending sentences (apart from the "real ending" one, which is great :p ) depending on your happinness level. And maybe negative happiness, or starting at 50 to end between 0 ans 100, so the player could try to bring the most suffering to the world (mighty fun).
