Challenging and stylish little minimalist game. Nice! :)
Really enjoyed the curving paths in this, especially when you get in the zone!
This was really fun! At first the screens gave me a Hero Core vibe, but upon first playing it felt Robotron-esque. Only later did I realize the Smash Bros. element! (btw high score 55, with one freak-in-the-zone moment of 69 that I couldn't replicate..)
What stuck out for me the most were the controls, they are extremely well implemented, as well as the level design, which is also very well done! Also I like the variety in enemy design.
Great puzzle game, vibrant graphics. Simple and sweet.
Interesting little experience. Very different, which is good.
Great narration, dripping mood, and subtle humour! A true rarity.
Hey this was very interesting. I like that you need to keep some things instead of just finding everything and removing it. On the first painting I came to a mind-blowing but false realization, it took me a while to solve and so I thought you were implying that nothing is perfect! Not quite, it seems, but I enjoyed it on the whole. Oh and very nice music, quite fitting to the mood.
Pretty inventive mechanic, love the drum sound effects in line with the music!
I especially like the transition from snake to breakout, that was really well done. Also diggin the music.
Well I thoroughly enjoyed that! Once you sort of get in the zone it's like you gain a sense of the depth of your avatar dot. Oh and you weren't kidding about level 5 gameplay!
Most of my thoughts on this have been mentioned already in these comments so I just wanted to say very well realized concept. Keep at it!
Hey great entry! Really loved the mechanics, it's like a minimalist space spiderman, or something. The controls take some getting used to but soon become quite manageable as long as you don't confuse yourself by crossing the arms. It took me a few levels to realize that all that was needed was an arm to reach the goal! That made things a lot less daunting and more fun to the point that I actually replayed it, so maybe clarify that aspect a little. Either way solid stuff here guys! :)
Well that was different! Haha, hilarious sound effects... Hm, just read the comment about the tablet... I have a touchscreen laptop, I think it's clear what must be done
Smooth wall scaling mechanic and controls in general (when you don't get stuck in the geometry).
Wow thanks for all these kind words and for playing my game!
@Rose/Chman: I agree, it does tend to get a little too busy visually at times. It didn't start that way though, I got a little carried away and only realized it when it was too late.
@Greg/Xgor/Super: You're right, this was not my originally intended ending. It was supposed to be a secret, an inside joke. The actual ending was a little beyond the scope of my abilities and remaining time.
I hope to address these and the rest of the issues in my postmortem in a few days.
@nerrabyte: I've added the file to the page if you want to have a look now.
I'd like to thank everyone for all their feedback, I really appreciate it! :)
@Misael: You're right, I had a more complete idea in my plans but my vision exceeded my capabilities and I was not able to finish it as I envisioned on time. However this is my first game and my objective was simply to get something done and out there. Perhaps if I held off and submitted to the Jam instead of the Compo, but alas we'll never know. I'm not sure if I'll continue to develop it or move on. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Wow, terrific animation and music! Especially the picking up animation and the lose theme.
This is just my type of game. The aesthetics, simple mechanics, and often challenging levels remind me very much of Flywrench, which can only be a good thing. I can't seem to get past a certain level but I know I will be able to later....and just as I was typing this tried again and got it!
I really enjoyed this on the whole.
Great entry! Terrific sense of tension, sometimes compounded when I got momentarily stuck on a wall. I really like the balance of having light increase as time passes (allowing you to see more) with the fact that this will likely attract more ghosts, plus the crescendoing music on top of it all!
Doesn't get much more minimalist than this, nicely done!
Interesting experience, very soothing and peaceful music. I like the changing colours. Simple mechanics, yet the bounce and slight slipperiness of the controls help give it a bit more challenge, otherwise it may have been too easy. Well done.
Fantastic level design and music! Challenging at times yet I still pushed through to the end.
