LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

RELIC by CptDustmite 2015-04-24T11:02:00

Enjoyed playing your pixel-art adventure story. Loved the minimalist graphics. The robot voice was a nice touch - did you use a text to speech engine? Well done all around.

Duck Attack by ehtd 2015-04-27T05:35:00

Very clever idea! Simple controls and easy to play quickly! Well done.

Ice Story ( koori monogatari 氷物語 ) by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2015-04-24T11:20:00

With a little tuning of the controls, this game could be a really fun addition to the old-school 16-bit genre! Nicely done all around

Quiver of Claws by Bensonance 2015-04-25T17:16:00

Game feels and plays well. Controls are clean and crisp and simple. Really like the pixelart graphics style! Had a moment of confusion until I figured out the mouse scroll selects the type of arrow. Overall a very playable game.

Fathom by Joe Williamson 2015-04-25T20:08:00

Beautiful artwork, excellent music, smooth animation and player controls. Very well done.

SPELUNK! by gil_villarreal 2015-04-23T18:24:00

Thanks Arcturus! Appreciate your comment. Yes, the jump is definitely fiddly and was high on my tuning list on the last day...and of course I never got to it! Thanks for your positive feedback on the other aspects. Cheers.

SPELUNK! by gil_villarreal 2015-04-24T13:43:00

Thanks RockHopper! Really appreciate the feedback. Everything you said is true. We have learned a lot from our 1st LD and we look forward to the next one. Cheers!

SPELUNK! by gil_villarreal 2015-05-11T19:49:00

Thanks to all of you that played and critiqued our game. We received a lot of good feedback and I think the bottom line was the hero controls were the stumbling block while the visuals and audio were appreciated all around. We will learn from this first attempt and our next LD offering will certainly reflect our commitment to developing fun, intuitive, and aesthetically appealing entertainment software. Cheers!

The Thor's weapon by petercraft 2015-04-24T11:40:00

Liked the overall simplicity and starkness of the graphics and layout. Movement was smooth and the animation was minimalist but effective. The core game mechanic suffers from no visual feedback as to your effectiveness. Maybe the zombies could flash white or red when you are hurting them. Something visual to let the player know they are accomplishing something. Good effort!

The Rock the Paper and the Scissors by BIZM 2015-04-30T05:35:00

ScarKrow by Carduus 2015-04-21T13:00:00

Excellent execution. Controls are simple and quick to pick up but will take time to master. Visuals are beautiful. Well done all around!

Terraforming by orangemoose 2015-05-07T13:46:00

Nice graphics and music. Controls are simple and effective. There appears to be some map collision issues as I got stuck very early by jumping onto a platform with a ceiling tile nearby. Overall a nice presentation.
