LD26 — Minimalism

Super 1-Bit Space Arena by Orni 2013-04-29T06:29:00

I dig the "1-bit"-ness of it,
I'm down with harder games, but the enemies might be a tad too difficult at the first few spawns.
I think the 1-bit-ness is minimal in the color sense, but there's a lot going on that removes me from that minimal zen i like.
I do love the camera shakes and other visual effects, whether "minimal" or no.
Overall, I think this is a great game!
Excellent Job!

There was a lull in the middle where I didn't perceive it as going to end, but I kept going. Glad I did. :)

Can't launch on OSX for some reason.

Pixel Dust (LD26) by swizzcheez 2013-04-29T07:08:00

Really hard to understand what the goal is.
Otherwise it was interesting and nice :)

OggOrbis by Michael Hall 2013-04-30T01:49:00

I like it, but it's a little hard to predict how to win a given level

AlterSpace by guestcheap 2013-04-29T06:50:00

I LOVE the concept of editing the level you're in.

I think the only thing that jars me as a PC player is swapping back and forth from keyboard (space + arrows) to mouse, esp. as a right-handed mouse user. (Maybe a left-hander is less jarred by the swap?).

I think a simple reevaluation of the control-scheme makes this a 5-star game :)

@Suese - Totally Agree. Totally a lack of time management on my part. Just put on some dubstep in soundcloud instead :)

@Scott - All of the 8 levels can be completed in a single cascade :) The max score of the 8 levels made during the compo is 24. I *am* working on more levels, i'll post a link (separate from the compo link) with additional levels, at some future point.

Oh, one level requires two-moves to start the cascade, but finishes completes on the cascade generate from that.

Also thank you both for the wonderful constructive feedback!

For future adventurers, you can both NORMAL and RIGHT-click squares. They will perform OPPOSITE movements. :)

Pivot by meat_popsicle 2013-04-29T06:39:00

You might NEED to RIGHT-CLICK instead of NORMAL-CLICK to complete a level in a SINGLE move for GOLD (MAX of 3 points). :) :) :) :D

@BrainSlugs - The numbers at the bottom are Level : Score

The general concept behind the cascading is this:
- When you match up two squares' yellow dots, the row or column those dots make will slide in toward the central point of the dots.
- Sliding by 1 square.

Essential by Dieresis 2013-04-30T01:27:00

Neat game.

Very small suggestions:
1. Consider making the player block have greater contrast against the background.
2. Also use WASD keys for movement, so it's easier to control with left/right setup.

Keep it up!
