This is the first time I actually play this sort of game.
I found it kinda hard, since every single mistake can make you die, then you have to restart from the beginning. I never had the patience to play CYOA books without cheating, so I guess it's my fault if I lost patience after a group of guys attacked me in the candle-lit room.
The story seems quite good, except maybe that the events feel a bit random. But again I'm not used to text games. Maybe I should give some a try...
I'm not a fan of text adventure games, it always feels like trial and error to me. Of the text-adventures in this LD48, I think yours is the best. Good writing, good voice, the readme is very helpful. I love how little you used to accomplish this. It really shows that anyone can make a game for Ludum Dare, even if all they've learned is std::cin and std::cout. :)
I'm also giving 5 for mood since when I opened it I wanted to keep exploring. Good work!
Nice writing, kept me in interest a while
Not much a fun of text-game, since I got stuck in dead-end passages.
Reminiscent of old games where, indeed you die a lot or get stuck on some a-ha puzzle. Writing is good and sets the tone well.
The mood was pretty ok but it was treacherous to get commands to register.
