This is an AWESOME! Liking art style very much.

ogniok 2014-12-09 22:14

The game looks great but lacks gameplay. ;/ Could have been great if player had something to do :D

donutttt 2014-12-09 22:18

I really like the style, both of the music and of the art.

magicolo 2014-12-09 22:18

Game crashed on launch :(

meral 2014-12-09 22:37

It took me about 10 minutes to download this from dropbox.

A very interesting piece to... watch I guess. The physics on the second boat are a nice touch. Throwing that one over a whole island and watching it fly off or land on the other side with the telescope is hilarious. =D
It would be even cooler if you could control it to rotate left and right too. I had a hard time aiming the telescope correctly. I couldn't figure out which position on which axis corresponds to which view on the map.

I could really see this become a nice little adventure game.

Really cool game! I didn't manage to find the chest (it seems buried in a hole - can you even see it?) but the feeling of sailing around and thinking "It must be there!" and 5 minutes later thinking "I was wrong but now I'm totally sure it's over there!" is neat. It's pretty cool that your game managed to create that intense feeling :P A mute button would've been nice though. Keep it up!

detocroix 2014-12-09 22:47

@bobismijnnaam - You can see the chest, but you can't fully see it :)

guldlock 2014-12-09 22:49

Love the art style!

shadowstryker 2014-12-09 22:53

Good art. Only thing I have against it is that trying to look at the night sky with the spying glass only shows a random island. :p

endesga 2014-12-09 23:15

Awesome game :) love it

dalbinblue 2014-12-09 23:17

Very beautiful looking game! I'm going to admit the first time I read the description I thought it said "Play as a newborn kitten..." and was trying to figure out what that had to do with sailing. I unfortunately didn't find the chest.

My only real gripe (other than there isn't much gameplay as you stated) is the controls on the spyglass. It was really difficult to move about. It seemed like there was a way to look up or down, but I couldn't find a consistent way.

A positive note is that you do have good pathfinding. Most games I've played in Ludum Dare where you click on a destination will just hit an obstacle and stop. Your game will move around the coast, which is really nice.

trisquare 2014-12-09 23:26

This game is really fun, also the graphics are good

chrismingay 2014-12-09 23:29

When I first realised the Spyglass was the actual view from the boat I was awe struck :) Nice one! Not found the chest, but very much appreciate the concept.

louisload 2014-12-09 23:35

excellent game of exploration! the music fits perfectly and the touch of the spying glass is an amazing mechanic

ketura 2014-12-10 00:12

Eh. Not a game, more a tech demo, if that. Controls are nonintuitive.

pestelcrew 2014-12-10 20:06

I didn't realize what I have to do, but the artstyle and whole concept is great

HelkeGames 2014-12-10 20:09

I like art style!! Great game!

susanthecat 2014-12-10 20:10

My virus checker (avast) reported it as a virus. :(

detocroix 2014-12-10 21:46

SusanTheCat : Yeah apparently sometimes Avast reports that Unreal Engine games have viruses (some older official Epic games too)... Your options pretty much are either trust my word that it is not, or just skip it :(

dieblume86 2014-12-11 20:57

Nice start

deathbysnail 2014-12-13 15:51

Nice idea! Unfortunately my Laptop runs it poorly :(

maxmetallica 2014-12-16 15:56

01rafael 2014-12-19 07:08

So cute to playing as new bor kitten! xD

ceosol 2014-12-23 22:02

Totally didn't get what was going on at first, but then I read your note about the spyglass. Absolutely beautiful. You shouldn't have opted out of innovation or fun, because this one is off the charts. I don't even care about the so called "lacking gameplay", I would love sailing around worlds and looking through the spyglass. Most gamers don't understand real design (hence the infinite number of platformers). Kudos on making something that has never been done before.

Again, I wish you didn't opt out of most of the categories. This was awesome.
