The game was interesting, though I couldn't find a way to lose. Dying in the minigame has no penalty, and failing to complete your chores seems to have no penalty other than hearing that horrifying voice shout your name. I loved the art in this game, though. The small details, everything from the box of tissues next to the computer to the power cord which goes from the power outlet to the outlet right next to it, really make this game.
Great game! I loved the magnifying glass mechanic. It really added to this game's atmosphere, in my opinion.
Confusing, yet entertaining!
I really liked playing this game. At first, it was highly difficult because of how crafty the green dots were at avoiding the player character, but after some time I was able to grow larger, and thus, harder to avoid. Very fun gameplay.
The game does align with the theme (though I, having a small screen, did have to scroll a little bit to see the bottom :P ) and so it got five stars for that as well.
I'm not sure how innovative this game is, though; it seems to work on the same logic as games such as Katamari Damacy: roll into smaller objects to get bigger. Since it wasn't especially innovative, it gets a three.
Where this game really shone through were the graphics (minimalist in a way that made sense) and fun (the game remained challenging, even after I gained in size). I might recommend in the future working on pacing; I assume that the spawns are random, but that often leaves gaps a few seconds long before another animal comes into view.
Awesome game! The way the spikes activated seemed a little weird at times (In the second and third levels they didn't go down properly, but did so when I restarted the level) and I'm not quite sure how it fits with the theme this year, but other than that, it's great!
Please add in ratings so we can score your game. They are opt-in this year, so you get to choose which ones you want to be rated on.
Good game! The ending was weird, though, and the game could have been better explained. There were a good two minutes where I couldn't score because the colors weren't spawning right, which is probably just a chance thing, but I just thought for a while that the scoreboard had gotten stuck at 0-2. Also I noticed that some words flashed across the screen as the game quit, but didn't have time to read them.
Fun game! I don't know what happened, but it was fun nonetheless!
Across the board fun! Once I got into it, I got into this great groove.
Fun game! Not sure how it fits with the theme, though; the entire game isn't on one screen any more than any other scrolling shooter.
I'm having a bit of trouble running your game. Looking through the folder, I have no idea which file I'm supposed to open. Is it one of the .dll files?
Very fun game! It would make a good mobile phone game, I think. I love the changing sound effect when you bounce the ball off a wall.
I liked this game! The sound blips really helped the calm demeanor of the game, though I do have to admit the gameplay was a bit clunky. I couldn't get the "increase pixel size" button to work, no matter how many times I pressed it. It probably would have been a useful upgrade, too; most of my problems came from not getting my cursor onto a far-out pixel, which would have been much more effective at increasing my territory.
Thank you for entering Ludum Dare 31! Have a nice day!
Great game! I loved the sort of puzzle that developed, from running from a couple jellyfish to trying to find ways to trap enough jellyfish and run from the rest. Messing with their AI by wrapping across the screen was fun as well. :D
Great start to a game! I just wish you had had enough time to make it into a full jam game. The music is great, I gottta say.
There doesn't seem to be any real sense of progression. Also, I tried shutting down the computer at the same time it logged off automatically and it's stuck at the launch screen.
This one was a lot of fun! The jumping mechanics were a little hard to get used to (I thought at first the extra jump was powered by shooting the rocket, instead of when it exploded), but when I got them, they were great! The inability to move your character once it was in the air threw me a bit, though. It made jumps which should have been simple (Especially the lower platform on the far right of the final level, over the laser beam) into huge problems. I think in a situation like that, a small amount would go a long way, though it's in no way necessary.
All in all, great game!
*BOOM!* Hatshot.
This game was a lot of fun! I liked the "Magical Frosty the Snowman" hat mechanic, and I have to say, it was a terrifying moment when I realized that a snowman's head, without the body, will still come after you.
I liked the graphics for the most part, but I do have one gripe: the bullet's shadow, for the first few moments of the game, looked like a second bullet. I kept trying to shoot the hat with that instead of the real bullet.
Also, the game slowed down a bit once there were thirty or so dead snowmen on screen, but that's a fairly minor problem.
All in all, really solid, fun game!
Fun game! Very hectic.
