Very cool game. I love the hand drawn vector look and the music and weapon slicing sounds.
This is one of my favorites. I love how simple it is. The speed of the controls is perfect and it feels super good jumping and firing. I bet this would feel awesome with a controller. Once your living room explodes being able to shoot from one side of the game window to the other is neat. Audio is excellent, visuals are excellent. One major thing killing it for me is the size of the game window.
Nice job! Art was done well, maybe some more variation with the bullies would have been nice to see. Fun to play and makes you laugh.
Great concept and fun to play! I dig the art and the music. I did struggle a little with the controls but started to get used to by the end of my play through. I kept wishing for a swing sound and for hit sounds when you either hit an enemy or take damage. Dig the UI elements on the left side as well. Great submission! Enjoyed it!
The concept is fantastic. It looks good and is very atmospheric. After reading the comment with hints a lot of things made sense after my playthrough but I was a little confused if you can ever win. I love how simple the art is but I wanted just a little more detail and crispness in this area. The audio needs more work, the wind sounds became a little annoying after awhile and the music needed some more thought. I did love how ambient the music was, I recognized the drum samples and the audio didn't seem to be processed much. Overall, I really enjoyed the game and felt it delivered on theme and mood very well. Great job!
Great entry, thanks for sharing this. Hilarious, and definietly one of a kind. I plays perfectly and the controls were super easy. Everything was explained really well and thats always important. Nice job.
This is super polished! The audio is particularly stand-out with headphones! Nicely done team.
The art style is truly great. I love the hand-painted look. I love the idea and it makes good use of the theme. I was struggling with the controls, I felt like they could use some more work. But good and unique entry!
Neat idea! I especially love the artwork here, and there seems to be a good amount of the mechanic playable. A few things I can recommend to improve it - Sound effects and music are crucial, I was really missing them here. The pacing seemed a bit slow, and although I saw that the volleyball play was pretty intuitive it just seemed a little too simple for me. I also didn't see much variation in the food you could feed him, and he seemed to hate everything until the game dropped it on the ground, then he would eat it. There were also some drawing issues where the food would render in front of the character. All in all a very solid entry. I really like the direction you are heading and would love to give it a shot if you fleshed it out further. Keep up the good work!
Took me a bit to actually figure out what my objective was, once I did it was pretty interesting. The sound when two objects of the same type is a bit painful. Couldn't break into the 20's myself. It almost seemed like I had no urgency to switch screens unless I was out of moves. Humor was spot on, from the description right into the game.
Wow, this is one of the better ones I have seen. Artwork is beautiful, mechanic is solid. Could totally see playing this on my iPad.
Visual style is fantastic. I just couldn't figure out what to do. I double checked the controls, read the game description a few times, read the comments and still couldn't figure out what I was doing. Finally figured it out a little but I couldn't help killing civilians and ran into issues trying to even shoot at vibrants when I saw them. Maybe a better explanation or tutorial would help. But still, this is a cool game with an awesome visual style.
Really nice entry. The way the cube moves is beautiful. I also like that it is all completely texture-less. The dynamic light also really helps the visuals. The only thing I think that takes away from it is the dark tone of the music. It needs something more-zen, other than that I think you've got a hit here. Would be killer on iPad.
This is great entry. The art is beautiful, audio is good. Gameplay is fun and gets pretty intense. Pretty unique use of the keyboard for controls too. Only critique I have is that it's pretty simple and doesn't offer much for replay value but hard to avoid with a jam game. All in all great job!
I'm a little unsure with theme on this one but looks incredibly good with the amount of time you had to make it.
This is really neat! I played it several times before I really got decent at it. It is a little awkward getting stuck between numbers sometimes. Very nice work!
Yo Kep! Just played the post jam version with the refined controls and can say that you've definitely made it a richer experience! Final thing I'd suggest is a quick tutorial page that explains how to move and head-butt the letters. Nice job again, I really dig the style. I was actually able to outrun certain death this time, hah!
Definitely a new idea. The movement around the environment It was interesting that you could scale things in a realistic way. Controls are a little difficult.
Contrtols feel pretty solid. One thing I noticed is that if you hold jump you can continue unless you do a move or collide in between, maybe that was intentional? But I feel like holding jump and continuing to jump would be neat. I also like the speed of it. Physics on the bouncing 2d elements look nice. This would feel great on something like iCade. Anyway, nice work.
Neat idea, would love to see some more depth as it progresses!
Love the concept and dig the game overall. Simple art is great and the mostly black and white gives it a nice clean look. I know this is a musical game but I was wanting some simple sound effects when you slide just to give it a little more emotion to the movement. The game is a good kind of difficult making me want to play it over and over. Great submission!
What a neat way to blend racing and strategy. I had to play by myself but it handled really well. It was nice to see that you could move faster if you made the proper moves. Once I figured it out I really enjoyed it. This one could really benefit from a tutorial level. Multiplayer in a jam game is hugely impressive, though not having a player-base ruins that experience. The visuals were great and the whole thing feels well realized. Would be a great iOS or web portal game. Great work here.
This one is great! I didn't however see any other limberjacks, c'mon people! The artwork is beautiful, and I LOVED the hybrid snowmen/zombie, great idea. I didn't see any sort of scoring or progression, so there might be your first improvement. Multiplayer is SO impressive for a jam entry, great job. I think the audio was decent but could be much better with music or any sort of variation. Glad to see more than one enemy also. Humor is top notch, and despite how simple it is I played it over and over, its great fun.
I like it. The visuals are very good, gameplay is fun, the boss room is a cool touch. Very metroid-esque, and thats good! The major problem I had was the game window was so small it made it a challenge to play.
Fun game! Need some audio and animation to really bring it to life.
Very dark and moody love the atmosphere. The mechanic is neat that he's desperate and could only hack the turret so far. You have a great idea here. The controls were a little strange, jumping in particular was difficult. Though I think the darkness adds to it, I think some how the player and turret need to stand out more. The few puzzles I made it through were pretty good and some of them took me quite a few tries. I would love to see you do something with this one post jam. Nice work.
I dont know whether this is hilarious or horrifying. Is that what you were going for? Hah!
Very good, I love the simplicity. Could never get the full screen to work which is unfortunate because it could make it easier. Maybe I'll download instead. Thanks for sharing this, its great fun!
Art is good, audio is nice and game fun to play. Good job!
Love the old school look and feel. The music was excellent. I was confused by the sinking spots, I thought they should have been completely different looking so you know to avoid them. I couldn't figure out what moving squares and growing circles were supposed to be. I wasn't sure how the gravitating thing the circle did was supposed to effect what you're doing. It became very hard to reach the boss with that last layer. Maybe the hazards could have be more spaced out? Regardless of the critique, a fine job.
Great entry, never seen anything like it. I loved the fact that the rumors stayed around so the more you did the harder the challenge was. Great concept. I would love for it to actually point in the direction I am aiming so I could move while not looking at my character directly. Thanks for sharing, it is excellent.
Great entry. Love the style of it. Would love to see some ui elements that are styled like the rest of the game. The enemies seem to have massive colliders. Also, the bullets seem to fire from behind my characters head instead of the muzzle. You are definitely headed in the right direction with this. Good fun!
I'm about as good as mowing this lawn as my own. Fun game! Struggled with controlling it. I wished the mower was a little slower. Steering was a little awkward too, I mean it is a lawn mower and those things are hard to navigate to begin with but wanted a slightly easier thing to drive. Good submission!
Visuals and music were pretty good. I couldn't really understand my objective completely. The "boo" sound effect takes some of the charm away.
Brutally challenging. Visuals are excellent, as well as the audio. I'm not sure what telling the soldiers to shut up did for me, but the mechanic was loads of fun. Definitely impressive all round, nice job.
Hard for me to tell what my objective really was, instructions weren't super detailed so I did exactly what it said "press buttons to start." I did get a few rounds in, and I like the fast gameplay. I think with a bit more instruction everyone could understand and play it better. Nice job with this!
I too got stuck on the title screen. Once I did figure it out I was able to survive for a bit ~750. I really didnt know if changing the difficulty was working for me or not. I also longed to have something to fight back with.
Neat little game, I would suggest not forcing installs! Keep up the good work!
Super unique, played this for quite a while, its super interesting how you can play from different angles. I love the pixel art, never seen anything like it. Great work.
Great entry, thanks for sharing this. I would add a crosshair, make it clearer how the gold mechanic works. Punishing, and thats good! Keep it up guys.
Excellent entry. I was sadly unable to get away with murder despite a handful of tries! The countdown and sirens that get louder as time runs out makes it super intense. The panic of trying to figure it out at the same time as they were coming to get me made me anxious. I was having trouble picking up the hammer.. but if I mashed it enough eventually I could pick it up. Moving things around to interact with each other seemed to work off and on which lead me to think I was doing things improperly. Would love to see some sort of hint system built in, as well as a tutorial level to show what things you are capable of doing all around. Visuals are top notch, most of these entries that did three minutes felt like far too long but with yours it almost felt not enough. Great mechanic, would love to see this fleshed out completely.
Love the artwork here. Gameplay left me wanting more.
Unique concept, I dig it. I do agree with the other feedback.. being able to place the blocks before the ball drops would make it a bit easier.
Its a neat concept. The green screen surrounding the game is a nice touch.. I dig the zoom in and out that pixelates the character. 3 minutes is sort of a long time for rescue as you cant do much but spin and shoot. Nice title overall, could use a bit more depth. Nice job.
Super unique! I fee like hitting the bug should cause much more damage with as simple as it is. I couldnt ever actually hit him with the cat, but that was the best part. Hilarious.
Super interesting. I love what the game looks and sounds like. Trying to play 5 games at once felt like sensory overload, I couldnt really focus on any objective because it was just madness. This led me to only playing it briefly.
Really love where you are headed with Beat+Trak! To start with things that I enjoyed I have to say the style of it is fantastic. Clean, easy to understand, and nothing that distracts you from your objective. This is a fun approach to a rhythm game as it uses a simple one button mechanic that could easily work on any platform. The movement of the assets to to music was great. The MUSIC, the most important part was also fantastic, would have loved to pick the track, or just see more of them. The slight rotation of the level was neat and definitely kept it from going stale saying in the same spot. It might be neat to see it completely rotate and face another direction at random. Would have also loved to see more paths. It didn't seem to do much once I finished the track either, so results or pass/fail indicators would be sweet! It does need some sort of particle effect or noise for when you hit or miss. Maybe something that makes it more obvious when you aren't on point. Very impressive for your first title in Unity, would love to see you do something more with this post jam. Again, excellent work. We all dig it!
I see where you were going with this and really dig the concept! It seemed like there were too many controls, and it wasn't super intuitive despite watching the tutorial video. Physics games like this are always hilarious, and some of the issues with the customers computers were fantastic. Unfortunately I couldn't play long because it forced me to think a bit too much about how to interact rather than just letting me play with it. Bringing the screwdriver back with a button became critical as it seemed to always fly out of reach, super funny. If you could fix the control/physics quirks and build a nice tutorial level I think you would have something really solid here! Great job.
I have to agree with a lot of the comments about difficulty. I'm not sure if I missed something but felt like I could stand more of a chance if I could aim the ships fire in different directions. With a bit more work this could really turn into a great game. Keep it up!
Beautiful, this is one of the more thought provoking things I've seen up here. Unity player takes FOREVER to load.
This is a great submission. Gameplay is fun, art is fantastic, and the audio is done well. Good job.
Overall this is a nice submission. It's simple and plays like a lot of old school games. On the other hand, I felt like the art could have been more detailed and the music more worked out and not as repetitive. Needs to have more sfx to bring it to life as well. Still, great job with this!
This is one of the better ones I have seen in the jam. The visuals are great, and I loved the cop dragging you away when you died. It was a little difficult to hit and move at the same time. Really impressive guys, nice work.
Neat idea, the web build still made me download though! Its punishing like traditional snake games and thats a good thing. Would be nice to see more polish!
Good stuff. Gotta love a death chamber. Artwork is looking good, the audio is done well. It might be cooler with a bigger arena and more traps but also more places to escape to. I often died immediately after respawning, I laughed about it though. Good entry!
No problem deyteris_team! We actually did a torture chamber game in our last jam so I was excited to see this!
Cool game! Took me a minute to figure out the controls but I could see how this would be fun with two people. Sorry just me here. Good job with art, could use some music and more sfx.
Unique idea, simple but still impressive visually. I felt like some of my presents were getting away even when I didnt see what happened. Maybe day/night could be faster?
Thanks for all the feedback from everyone! Greatly appreciated and will take all of it into consideration. I just wanted to address a few opinions on how we addressed this theme. This scene or 'screen' is one piece with sliding doors that allow for us to change platforms and keep the game dynamic and challenging. We have added some detail with screen shots to demonstrate what we did. Again thanks for all the kind words, criticisms, and support. We are checking all of you out too and will provide honest feedback. Happy voting!
Wow, I was really impressed with this one. The screenshots do it no justice. The handling is fantastic. It's so satisfying knocking the players around. The bouncing is handled perfectly and the players are super responsive to the controls. The sounds is also really good, as well as the visuals. Particles were spot on, shadows and lighting were great. Would be neat to have some sort of tutorial level, and a round end / begin function would be a great addition. Varying characters could also be really good. I ended up playing by myself right hand vs left so some sort of simple AI would be crucial. Hope to see you continue with this one. Nicely done.
Nice job guys. I really like the visual style, movement feels good, seeing through walls when you get close is a nice touch. I didnt feel like I could land all my swings. Some things felt out of place like the chat bubbles over the characters. I REALLY didnt care for the map taking up half of my view.
The art is good I just wished it started off a little slower then gradually got faster as the game progressed. I'm not fast enough to play this game.
Neat entry. I was only able to find one enemy, and the game had a bit of trouble staying at a consistent framerate for me. Loved the visuals, audio was solid although the probe could be a bit more dynamic!
It took me a few seconds to find my player on the screen. Maybe it should be a brighter color or something to stand out. Love the simple rectangle characters. It's fun to play but it needs audio to bring it to life. Great jam game and suits the theme very well. Good job!
Solid entry, had alot of fun with this one! The yellow snow was a nice touch. AI acted a bit strange which allowed me to recover snowballs, good for me, maybe not for the difficulty? I dig it, nice work.
The art and audio are beautifully done. Really a great job on this guys. The only critique I have is I was wanting more than just a grind to get the highest score. So some more depth and reason to play. It is a jam game though and I feel like you guys rocked it. Great submission!
The screen bounds are almost too unforgiving. I had a lot of fun with this overall, however. I love the style of the environment, its almost a shame the main character is a cube. The shooting mechanic was a little difficult to aim with, but was a nice addition as I didnt notice it at first. One thing I may add is an in-game instructions screen. Great entry.
Digging the style and the audio, the size of the screen makes it difficult to play.
This is really good! Hahah I had as much fun just making a mess as actually completing the objectives! The difficult nature makes it stand out so dont lose that! The physics are great, the sounds of things clunking around are funny too. I really think you are onto something here, I could play it for hours.
Nice game! I really love the retro look, and its interesting how much depth you add as the game progresses. Impressive compo for sure.
Amazing way to use the theme. It's a very unique idea, don't think I've ever really seen anything like it. My main problem with it is it's a huge maze and probably takes a little while to get through it(didn't make it very far if you couldn't tell). I felt like music and maybe more audio elements might have kept me interested. But I felt like I was lost in the dark and started feeling scared and alone and just wanted to go home to my puppy. It might be fun to have smaller mazes that are connected here so you feel like you are accomplishing something rather than jumping around getting stuck and hoping for the best. Felt overwhelming to me but the use of the theme and the magnifying glass element made up for it. Very good entry!
Cool entry, its a really interesting take on a board game. I could see this getting really deep with just a bit more added! Nice work!
This entry is fantastic! 5 *'s in every category. What an adorable take on a stealth game. The gameplay is great, the level design is really enjoyable, the visuals are gorgeous. Hope to see you do more with this post jam!
Nice entry! The humor was spot on here! Im not sure if there was much reason to go on once you'd completed all the different tasks, am I right? Good work!
It started off strong for sure! After the first level it gets pretty confusing, but I really like the concept here. The alarm sound was a bit obnoxious, and it was hard to tell what my objectives were beyond the beginning. Keep going with this!
Excellent entry from you guys as usual. You have all the right elements here. I'm always really impressed with what you guys manage to pull off during a jam. The gameplay is solid, though I did manage to get my brains bashed in. The art is beautiful, and the soundtrack is great. With a little more polish you guys will have something really special here.
This is really well done, congrats! I had a lot of fun playing this one, simple to jump in and play but gets really challenging, the perfect combo! Nice work!
Awesome entry. I really liked the low poly styling, the color choices were spot on. The characters communicating over the radio were really neat. I'm not sure I understood the ending, nothing really got wrapped up, the story was really good up until then. This sort of thing could be powerful! Nice work.
This looks like the start to something great, my only wish was that there was more to explore. The mood was great, the story telling was pretty interesting. The interaction design is a solid start to a good adventure game.
Neat entry. My score was over 5k. It was cool to see how much upgradability I had. I'm not entirely sure how I was missing some of my shots, is there a trick to it?
Cool entry! It gets much more interesting once you have some power ups! The lower levels seemed a bit slow, which made the grind for upgrades more painful. I really like this idea, it definitely has some potential. Nice work.
Nice entry! This was a really neat interpretation of the theme. The pixel art was fantastic, the audio was solid. Really challenging, thats a good thing! The into movie was a little off-putting compared to the rest of the games aesthetic, however. Nice job with this!
This looks like a really neat entry. I love where your head was at with your interpretation of the theme. For some reason I couldn't ever get the controls to work properly. There also seemed to be some sort of lighting issue, things would white out and take away from what appears in your screenshots to be a fairly solid aesthetic.
Definitely a unique one thats for sure! The modeling and general vibe of this was really good. This is the strangest one I've seen so far.
Really neat entry! I especially like the visuals.I did have to re-read the description carefully and really play quite a few times before I fully understood what was happening. Love how you tied things in with the theme, even created in in-game link to learn more about the issues you were referring to with your entry. Nice work!
Excellent entry, I didn't seem to have any sound so I sure was missing it. The level design was excellent and the depth in the gameplay was really something to take notice of. I really hope you guys do more with this I am impressed!
I really like this one! The visuals are top notch, your theme interpretation is spot on. The only thing about it is that is just feels really slow. I'd say if we could get some better pacing you're really onto something great. It has a nice papers please type vibe. Impressive.
Nice job with this! Its definitely a unique and interesting idea. I too had a bit of trouble with the controls. I also didn't have sound. Awesome concept, hope to see it improved!
This is pretty unique! It ran a bit choppy for me, but I liked the idea, unlike any others I have seen. Nice job!
