LD26 — Minimalism

Gods Will Be Watching by Deconstructeam 2013-05-02T03:50:00

Very Cool. Liked the graphics. I played until I beat it. I probably died forgetting to add more wood to the fire more than anything else. I got down to just the engineer and the dog and then the game was easy after the radio was repaired. I wish the transitions for the choices was faster, sometimes I would click and it would not register. I think it would be nice for the food, ammo, med, and radio if you could just see their status by mousing over rather than having to click the option.

F*** This Job by Casino Jack 2013-05-02T03:45:00

So many things done right here! I felt the levels ramped up quite nicely in difficulty. I always felt like I had complete control over my character and every time I died I knew exactly how long I had to jump to make succeed. There was so little delay between the point of death and the point of restarting that it felt very smooth and natural to just keep going until I beat all 24 levels and saw the sunset :). I was impressed with the sheer amount of content! A level select, action replays, and 24 well-designed and distinct levels. Awesome job!

This is not a minimalist game by Volute 2013-04-30T03:28:00

Strega: Neat concept. I liked the feedback when you jumped on objects to destroy them and change the world. It took a bit of trial and error to complete, but I managed to beat it without using the walkthrough.

I love the ambience and the overall mood; the difficulty scaled very nicely and I really liked how you allow the player to choose the number of cores they want to start with. Awesome job! And thank you again for playing our game on your Twitch stream!

Newborn by Lowlet 2013-05-03T17:34:00

I'm not sure what I'm suppose to be doing in the game. I got out of the starting room, but that was it. I was lost after that. I tried exploring, but didn't seem to be getting anywhere, and then jumped off and somehow landed on top of another structure, but just as lost. Neat style though.

Orb by Grouflon 2013-05-03T17:44:00

Loved the aesthetics and feedback in the game. It is a cool take on breakout. Completing a level is extremely satisfying. The sound design is great. I had difficulty predicting where the ball would bounce and rebound to. Overall, great!

Less is More? by atraxgames 2013-05-02T02:47:00

Nice use of the Mondrian style! The first handful of levels are more trial-and-error rather than puzzly, but I eventually figured out how the colors reacted with each other. Great job for 48 hours!

A Minimal Conflict by sboerwinkle 2013-05-03T17:52:00

Neat game. I wasn't sure how the aiming worked at first but it seemed like I just shot at the closest target. It was sometimes hard to tell which ball I was controlling because the color was so similar. Does the game just go on forever?

Frame Aim by Symmeteer 2013-05-03T18:46:00

Cool for such a small time frame. I can see how this could become a more full game if you had multiple stages and made it so you lost if the blue cube hit the red lines while you were moving them.

Potato Dungeon by _Rilem 2013-04-30T19:31:00

Strega: Awesome game. Really nice graphics and great simple combat. I feel like the some of the enemies have too much health though, at times I would just sit there and wait for them to kill themselves. Maybe you could have the player velocity correspond with how much damage you deal.

Multiplied Screens by glbs 2013-05-03T21:24:00

Neat puzzler. Reminds me a little of super hexagon. I wasn't sure how to play at first, but figured it out after a few tries. The mechanic is pretty hard to predict. I found just tapping the x button a lot to keep from moving seemed to get me pretty far.

- Strega

ERASERLAND by little_polygon 2013-05-03T17:59:00

Very Cute! Each stage was very unique, and the goals were so simple you didn't even need instructions. Release more levels! Make it mobile!

Eternal Journey by GreenPixelDev 2013-05-01T05:31:00

I remember you guys' Dr. Vile game from the last LD! Another great job, with a great vibrant and engaging art style reminiscent of Ridiculous Fishing. However, in terms of minimalism I think the game is a little complex with four skills for each of the five heroes and plenty of things to buy in the store. Of course, each person interprets "minimal" differently.

I would also like to see some feedback on the buttons in the UI, like give them down states when clicking and off states if the player doesn't have enough money to purchase an item. Otherwise, solid game!

minobi by Pixelboy_85 2013-05-03T22:03:00

Love how much ninja-personality you were able to put in a 4x4 sprite! The level design is pretty tough, with a lot of timing involved, but it's fun and challenging. I eventually got pretty good at it, nimbly dodging the turrets and sneaking up on unsuspecting civilians!

Mini male by ayamflow 2013-05-03T21:16:00

Wasn't sure if I was playing the wrong way, but I ended up just standing still near a wall and holding down the shoot button. I can see how this could become a pretty neat platforming/megaman style survival game though.

Guesses by Waave 2013-05-02T03:12:00

Wow, that was frustrating but oddly entertaining. I have to say, finally being able to fix the keys is very rewarding. I love the minimal colors, but as someone mentioned, it's hard to see where the white platforms end and where the edge of the game begins, so I didn't even know I could fall through some areas. Of course, that could have been intentional of you for added frustration :P

Small Tale by hitchh1k3r 2013-05-01T03:18:00

Rosypenguin: Interesting how your choices affect your battle with the dragon; gives a high replayability value since I want to try to find different outcomes. The controls are unintuitive though, I can't get used to pressing S to jump when many other 2D platformers use the up arrow or W. Otherwise, interesting gameplay and solid pixel art work!

3: Who needs 297 anyway? by 0beah 2013-05-01T05:13:00

Nice fast-paced reflex game. The game was quite big on my laptop screen however, and pressing up/down would shift the entire browser window along with it. I found that rapidly pressing W and S in quick succession can let my guys survive for quite some time :P Maybe like madlee said, an incentive to move around can add another level of interesting gameplay without really getting rid of the minimalism.

Otherwise, a fun little game. I love the smooth frame-by-frame animation of the soldiers!

Match teh Octagonz by dinos 2013-05-01T04:51:00

I agree with the others on difficulty to distinguish color choices, and would like to add that perhaps if the bars were thicker (or even completely filled in the hexagons with color) they would be easier to tell apart. I do love puzzle games, and I think if you made specific levels in increasing difficulty rather than procedurally generated levels it could be really fun!

Mobius by 3beards 2013-05-01T05:44:00

Nice concept for a one-button puzzle platformer. The game has a solid foundation and I can see some really unique level possibilities comes out of it in the future. I would like to see levels that are based more on puzzles rather than timing jumps. Also, a restart button would be nice so we didn't have to wait for the player to fall -- sometimes a rather long fall.

Hope you guys keep developing this!

Ack, we realized that we screwed up some numbers on the difficulty timing and we just pushed up a quick bugfix. Thanks for the comments!

The Minimalizer by johnfn 2013-05-01T03:33:00

I have the same problem where the game is running crazy fast and really difficult. Platforming is twitchy and turrets are shooting a solid wall of bullets that follow me! D: It sounds like you addressed the speed problem so maybe it's just the browser I'm using? :S

Other than that, the music is fun and dialogue is hilarious. I allo like how there is a respawn point at each new screen. Great job for a compo entry.

Balls Balls Balls by matthias_zarzecki 2013-05-12T05:57:00

Antichromatic by arkeus 2013-05-12T06:17:00

Nice metroidvania style game with a dimensional shift platforming mechanic. It was really hard for me to get used to using space bar to shift, I kept pressing it when I intended to jump and getting myself killed. I liked the effect you did for the environment.

Alien Raid by LTyrosine 2013-05-01T04:11:00

This game is really fun!

Some nitpicky things: Camera controls would come in handy; I can move the camera from my base to the attacking aliens but I'd have to right-click every few buildings along the way to pull the camera over. Or if I am flying my rocket far to the right and want to build a new one, I'd be forced to physically fly my rocket until the factory is within view. Oh, and in the rocket's description, it says "right mouse button to fire" when it should be left click.

Overall, gameplay is compelling and sound design is great (I have to say, destroying an alien and hearing it squeak is pretty satisfying). The game does get pretty easy once you can build a couple rockets in between waves, but it's still really fun and I could keep on playing. Good job!

Interesting game and nice use of the theme. I think a mini-map would be really helpful.

Poppy vs. the Night by SecondDimension 2013-08-27T20:35:00

Crazy concept! I liked the music and sound effects

Clocked In by rylgh 2013-09-01T04:41:00

Awesome game! I really like the minimal feel of the game. Great game design. The transition effects were well done.

10 Second Tofu by zerocreativity1 2013-09-02T04:25:00

I love all the details and colors in the art; little things like variations on the rocks, consistency in the UI, etc. Overall a very unified game! Just felt that ten seconds was a little long, especially when the tofu takes one second per step... but you had to stay within the limitations of the theme.

RimorD by Verz 2013-08-30T03:41:00

Really nice art. It was very hard to follow what was actually going on in each scene, but I think the ending sort of helped clarify things. Sometimes I would click in the spot where text used to be and it would react to that selection, but I wouldn't know what I actually selected.

10 by Benn 2013-09-04T04:30:00

Nice use of perspective. I thought your game was very innovative.

Samsara - Humanities Rebirt by DangerPenguin 2013-09-01T03:57:00

Interesting concept and the music in the game. I wasn't sure if there was an end to the game, so I just stopped after a while. Hope I didn't miss a cool ending.

The Vengeful Baby-Men by Jarcas Studios 2013-09-02T19:15:00

Definitely a unique gameplay experience with some of the best audio in a LD game!

Decel by timujin 2013-08-27T17:51:00

Interesting Idea. I couldn't beat it, that last guy always gets me.

Tourmaline by NMcCoy 2013-09-02T17:27:00

Liked the clean and minimal graphics. The game play was fun and addicting.

#hindsight by ComicSans 2013-08-30T15:41:00

Great graphics. I liked how you created a comic book feel for many of the story elements. It would be cool if the rewind effect didn't just snap to the last point, but actually visually rewind.

Armageddon by 4xisblack 2013-08-28T04:22:00

Very artsy, but I wish there was more game to it. Maybe if there was a correct sequence of discoveries that explained what was going on and possibly how to stop it (I know you explain it in your description).

PROBE TEAM by Andrew Shouldice 2013-09-04T03:52:00

10 Seconds of Joy by CosmicAdventureSquad 2013-08-27T08:49:00

Thanks for the awesome feedback!

@Ossi - We wanted to create more varied levels and add obstacles to the playing field, but we felt that it would take too much time too design every level so we went with a level generator approach. We had a lot of other features and upgrades planned but didn't get to make it into the Jam version of the game.

I really wish we had got the sound effects into the Jam version. :(

Day of the Vampire by drilltail 2013-09-01T03:38:00

Great game! I beat it. I wish there was a more clear indication of how much time I had during the day/night, although I do like how you changed the sky's coloration.

10 Seconds of Love and Anger by kcpunk666 2013-08-30T04:13:00

I like the character designs! The concept was unique and did a good job of fitting the theme. The title screen and UI could use some work, and I wasn't a fan of the music.

10 Seconds Before the World Ends by Lustdante 2013-09-01T04:32:00

Loved the animations. I only wish the jumping felt better, especially against the rocks in the last level.

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-09-01T18:57:00

Liked the music. I could never beat the game. I never got the right pieces I needed to complete the dna. :(

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-09-02T18:53:00

Very beautiful and well polished game! I could see this game being extended with more weapons, ai behaviors, and specific goal sets.

Nothing to see here by Sherun 2013-09-02T03:56:00

Sorry to hear about what happened and why you had to disqualify yourself. I played the game anyway, I think you could add some tweening/animation to show the crates falling and being picked up to add some feedback. Good job nonetheless!

It's You or Me by JtM 2013-09-02T03:35:00

Simple multiplayer gameplay! Just wished the 'dash' effect had better feedback, we couldn't really tell what it did. Also a restart button at the end would help a bunch!

Campfire by BloodJohn 2013-09-02T19:10:00

The comic panels in the beginning are amazing, and the in-game sprites are well done too. I wish there was audio, and a bit more feedback on actions. It's fun but tough!

Hourglass by DoubleS 2013-09-01T05:22:00

Really liked the graphics. The game play was pretty addicting. Wasn't sure what all the orbs did, they mostly seemed to just kill me and end the game.

Antidote by Antidote 2013-09-02T19:20:00

Awesome game! Loved the fast paced gameplay. The shooting effects were nice and fun to watch. Nice variety of enemies and stages. Good job!

Every Ten Seconds A Kitten Drowns by matthias_zarzecki 2013-09-01T03:50:00

Nicely done game. You should add some cat meow audio to help guide the users to the location of downing cats. I wish I could have saved all the cats :<

Color Shift by Sandcrawler 2013-09-02T23:41:00

I think the concept has potential, but it is almost unplayable in my browser. I also wasn't too sure what the scrollwheel did and what my goals were.

Tokyo Station by Mark Ffrench 2013-09-02T19:01:00

Liked the visuals and music. The gameplay was a bit weird, a lot of the times the red blocks would be outside of the area that I could move my cube in. However, when I was able to get the red blocks, I could sort of flow and get lost in the music.

10 Sec Hero by StabAlarash 2013-09-02T04:08:00

It took me a while to understand the navigation of the map and the character selection page (like clicking on the name to change characters, and clicking on an empty box to equip an item). Once I got around those roadblocks, I had a LOT of fun with the game. The fast-paced button mashing was really exciting and allowed for a lot of replayability. I finally beat it after nearly a dozen tries :D Only wish it had music!

ReTurtle by Metatheos 2013-09-04T03:11:00

Looks great, and I like how much polish you were able to get in for the post-jam! It was a little hard to get the hang of it and understand just what was going on, but I eventually got it.

The only one by JaJ 2013-09-02T03:31:00

A powerfully emotional game. I loved the mood you set and the create application for the theme. Only thing is the ending felt weak compared to the rest of the story you set up, but sounds like you fixed that in the post-jam. Fantastic job!

Low Battery by RHY3756547 2013-09-01T17:25:00

Pretty fun game, but it gets frustrating. I like the music and effects, but whenever I jumped I'd lose my character in all the particles.

Dango Rush by ghRibacki 2013-08-30T04:06:00

The gameplay is fast-paced and difficult, but still fun. I wish there was some warning in the last three seconds of my life!

Jackton Factory by PitΖΆik4 2013-09-02T03:43:00

Very humorous game, and innovative concept! It was interesting seeing all the different actions each character could take depending on the circumstance and who was in which room. I wish I had a better grasp of the layout of the factory, but after four or five playthroughs I was beginning to form a coherent map of the locations, actions, and timing. Great idea!

Time Flies Straight by mrspeaker 2013-09-01T19:05:00

What a crazy trip. I liked the old school Doom style 3D and the distortion effect. Was able to beat the game and pick up some happiness.

LD28 — You Only Get One

.one. by Macroz 2014-01-05T23:34:00

I admit it took me far too long to figure out what to do on the first level, seeing as held-down-clicks are uncommon in flash games. But once I figured out the mechanic, I really enjoyed the following levels. I think you did an astonishing job creating such a complete experience in just six hours! The graphics and sound are minimal but everything fits and is pleasant to look at and satisfactory to click on. Could do with more levels and better affordances for the player to understand what is going on, but overall a great, fun little game!

The first seed I planted I waited for about five minutes and the game still didn't finish, so I was confused if there was something else I had to do. After a few more playthroughs I learned to pick better places to plant the seed based on the surrounding terrains. Great job!

Cool concept! There's so much content in this game. I feel like a more mouse driven interaction would have made the game more playable for me. My left hand was stumbling all over the keys at first.

Agent One by DanielSnd 2014-01-01T23:36:00

Extremely polished game, great low-poly models and animations. Just wish the camera would look a bit further ahead, and also I found that I can win easily by skipping most of the enemies. But great job overall!

Awesome game! Very complete and polished feeling. I tried to finish the game, but everything killed me. I got the sex card item, but I had no idea what to do with it. Is it possible to escape?

Like the teleport mechanic and randomly generated stages. Some of the traps were extremely difficult to get past, making the game a bit frustrating. Some tuning and polish could go a long way if you guys take this game further!

LD33 — You are the Monster

Storm the Castle by BoUnDtOtHeEaRtH 2015-09-07T05:22:00

Interesting mechanic.

Dragon Tale: Acquisition by vivavolt 2015-08-24T19:58:00

Fun little game, but I was a bit confused as to how to return to the map screen after selecting an area to play in. Also I shouldn't be able to fly out of the screen, and somehow I was unable to kill humans/sheep?

Totem by Ian MacLarty 2015-08-25T01:10:00

The jump smash is so satisfying and the movements really give the monster the feeling of weight. Striking art and atmosphere, though wish there was some more gameplay to it. The music could also be a tad less harsh on the ears.

Edge of Grey by MinionStudios 2015-08-26T04:51:00

The movements felt slow and stiff to me. I dig the atmosphere and the size of the explorable area, just wish there was more feedback with attacking and getting attacked. Also is there a way to heal?

Super Sea Serpent Simulator by CosmicAdventureSquad 2015-09-12T05:53:00

@LastLeaf looks like graphics driver problems? I was developing on Windows for the whole compo and have tested the Windows build.

Road To Hell by Hyoga-3D 2015-08-30T16:57:00

Fun, but I felt could be faster. I didn't encounter many cars going in the same direction as me, and when I did hit them I didn't feel I was getting a satisfying boost in speed. A HUD indicator of my current speed and distance would incentivize replays. Also, missed opportunity to make the player control a MONSTER truck!

First LD33 game to make me laugh out loud, kudos for that! ;)

Satisfyingly nihilistic!

Camp Starvation by Double Zero One Zero 2015-08-26T05:24:00

I liked the Papers Please inspiration! Pretty fun until the game got stuck after sending the rest of my people out for supplies and I couldn't feed myself (bug?). I also did not realize I could give more than one food to people, wish I had known that before everyone got mad at me! And finally, it'd be great if I could skip the scavenge mode if I wanted to go straight to the food time. Overall a strong entry!

It actually has a thematic and gameplay similarity to a past LD game we did called "Rations, Please!" Check it out! http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-28/?action=preview&uid=22946

Monster Truck Story by godjammit 2015-08-26T05:39:00

Very pretty! It was fun crashing into things. I got into a weird state where the screen was all blurry the music kept playing and every now and then it seemed like the ground was shattering...

Orbit by roban101 2015-08-26T06:20:00

Nice graphics! The game was pretty hard until I figured how to slow down a lot.

Player Rush by Hot Box Games 2015-09-10T02:03:00

Great game and incredible polish! I played the pre-jam version. Would love to see more content, maybe different environments and attacks. Great job!

Petit Monstre by LeoM 2015-08-30T17:12:00

Beautiful entry and wonderful interpretation of the theme. I especially love how much your nephew's and sister's voices brought to the mood and feel of this childhood-simulator; I certainly felt nostalgic playing this :)

Tentacle Blockade by mahalis 2015-08-25T01:16:00

A very well-rounded game! I enjoyed the controls and mechanic, although would have been nice to see a visual indicator of ships in a "grasped" state, as sometimes I would think I have grabbed one, went on to slam it into another ship, and realizing I didn't grab it.

I agree that there should be more variety of ships as the difficulty ramped up. A scoring system could easily up the replay value too.

Birdy Bridge by LastLeaf 2015-08-30T17:31:00

Cute and fun game. I actually enjoy the "easy" mode better than the original, mostly because it gives the player to learn the level, try different paths to avoid the stars, or just not punish the player for simply being a few pixels off when placing a bird. A dotted line indication of the girl's jump trajectory will also help diffuse some of the frustration!

Overall, the art, music and story come together nicely. Great job!

Someone stole the Princess! by Donpastor 2015-08-25T22:45:00

So glad you addressed the memory leak; I can actually play the game now! Cute little roguelike, enjoyed the gameplay and nostalgia.

Betty the Yeti by grywhttl 2015-08-26T05:28:00

Halloween Maskness by The Mad Strauss 2015-08-26T05:02:00

I really liked the game the art, music, and gameplay all worked well together. The game mechanic was fresh and creative. I especially like how you had the sky events map out with the A, S, D keys in their position in the sky.

Run Ogre, Run! by CrazyMinnowStudio 2015-08-26T05:33:00

Played the web version, the graphic mostly black and white, like the lighting was too strong or textures where missing. Was pretty fun!

Nipper Nosher by AlgorithmicsAnonymous 2015-08-30T17:07:00

The game is fairly straightforward, although jump physics are a little floaty (that may be intentional since it's set in a very space-y location). I feel that the enemies are way too overbearing; I can hardly land on a platform without one already positioned exactly where I will be, not to mention their hitboxes are huge and I die without visually touching an enemy. This coupled with the floaty physics makes it dangerous to even jump. I get that the game is supposed to be hard but tighter controls, better hitboxes, and predictable enemy movements will keep it challenging and add replay value.

Good work nonetheless!

Tales of the Memory Dragon by raducumiczzz 2015-08-26T05:55:00

It would be so much more satisfactory if the dragons stretched their heads out to eat the birds, Hungry Hungry Hippos style. I also wish you did a more elegant solution for the controls, maybe clicking on the heads?

Otherwise, a good first LD, keep at it!

The Fifth Apartment by The Fifth Apartment 2015-08-26T05:18:00

Very good art and mood! I'm still a bit unsure about what all was happening.

Monster by ajkolenc 2015-08-25T01:24:00

I like the clean, minimal aesthetic, but the controls took a while to get used to. I'd personally prefer the classic "arrow keys to move, space to shoot" approach so the player can focus on the game and not which key was supposed to shoot. Good work.

rIPoff by VideoDog 2015-08-26T05:48:00

Pretty funny concept. I liked the dialog.

Monster - Your Worst Is Our Best by Ellian 2015-08-30T06:42:00

Solid game, strong pixel art and animations as well as music and sound. Only thing is the amount of effort required to navigate the interface; I wish the monsters would come in one after the other so I wouldn't have to manually select one to view next, then open and flip through the jobs one by one. I know that is influenced from Papers, Please, but as others have mentioned maybe introducing more mechanics further into the game will make it easier to draw players in.

Overall, a fantastic and polished job. Very well done.

One room, one life by Ygogo 2017-01-03T01:37:00

LD38 — A Small World

(Un)Happy by pcmaster 2017-05-05T07:41:49Z

Great accomplishment for 10 hours! I like how easy it was to figure out the gameplay. Pretty fun but I wish there were more levels that introduce some difficulty. The planets' gravitational pull was well done.

Near kingdoms by Hadik 2017-05-02T07:12:03Z

Liked the simple mechanics and different unit types. It was hard to figure out a good strategy. Sometimes it seemed like the enemy horse riders would just wreck all my units including the horse riders I sent out.

Bunosphere by torcado 2017-05-02T05:40:21Z

I'm impressed with the sheer size of the world and the number of puzzles you were able to include for a compo submission. The art was pleasant although the spherical projection was a bit nauseating at times. I had a lot of fun exploring the planet. Perhaps not every sprite should be billboarding; the chests and doors could stay still. Also there should be some bounds at the ends of the world, or have it wrap to the other end of the world to complete the planet metaphor.

Overall great work!

Raven Delivery Service by DDRKirbyISQ 2017-05-02T07:41:59Z

Great audio and art! The animation are well done. I really wish there was a score review screen after level completion to make it easier to see how I did. The controls were a little bit stiff for me, some acceleration/deceleration rather than hard stops might have made this feel juicer/forgiving and added a risk/reward to throwing things and hoping they land in the port or the delivery point for faster play.

Interplanetary by mao 2017-05-05T07:41:52Z

Nice gravity mechanics! I liked how all the worlds were sort of linked together through your movements.

Ruler of Survival by Flying Cat of the Pepes 2017-05-02T06:12:43Z

I like the flat graphics. Wasn't sure if I was doing things correctly, but my guy seemed to stay alive.

Glass Houses by diptoman 2017-05-02T05:48:19Z

The visuals and audio really set the mood! I wasn't if I was missing some actions. Each day I walked to the machine and did the thing and walked back...

ghost story by ooku 2017-05-15T00:16:16Z

Great mechanic with the body possession, I can see this game being expanded with new mechanics introduced at the beginning of each world. I liked the challenge the game presented, although the hitboxes feel a little large and the jumping could be a little more precise to reduce some of the frustration. Overall it was a fun Ludum Dare entry! (Happy 15th bithday Ludum Dare)

Microms' World by TomBuston 2017-05-09T06:42:44Z

Nice job! I really like the microm growing/spawning animations. I got to year 11.

Destruction Zone by Chronosv2 2017-05-05T07:55:21Z

Nice defense game! I liked how the difficulty ramps up and the enemies that shot back at you. It was pretty slow at the start, but after getting upgraded weapons it was a lot easier to play :)

In Good Hands by simple-blue 2017-05-02T06:42:31Z

Nice graphics and cute sounds! It was hard keeping track of everything at once and predicting where meteors would hit sometimes, especially when they came from the bottom of the screen. I got a population of about 11 people before the bears started eating everyone.

The Life Amoebic by Baby Dino Herd 2017-05-02T06:37:38Z

I have to agree with everyone else: the mood is very well done. The subtle camera zooming out, the color transitions, and the cell eventually splitting were all oddly calming. I can see it working well as a mobile game too.

Moped Mayhem by Meenners 2017-05-02T06:19:15Z

Murder Mitosis by _for_science 2017-05-09T06:48:02Z

Neat concept. The animations and sounds were good. I wish there was more to do when you die, you're kind of left just watching the AIs play it out.

Miniverse by sebasrez 2017-05-02T07:03:17Z

Awesome audio and animations! A really interesting concept, though sometimes I didn't really understand what some of the icons meant, if they were passive benefits or not. It kind of has a little prince vibe to it with the personalities of each planet.

Influenza: The Game by longchamps 2017-05-02T06:05:04Z

Good job on making this while having the flu! Hope you feel better and congrats on completing your first jam :)

Down the Rabbit Hole by those-30-ninjas 2017-05-02T07:20:49Z

Great retro style! The music and audio fit well too. Interesting card mechanic, but unfortunately I got to a level where I started in the middle and the cards available to me both had no valid place to go so I ended up losing immediately.

Flight of Claude by Lyxil 2017-05-02T06:19:04Z

The art is very well done, and I'm impressed that you were able to evoke strong emotions from a story about birds. This is probably the first visual novel I've played from a Ludum Dare, props for doing something different! I would like a screen that shows how many of the endings I've achieved, to give more incentive to play again. Animations would be great too.

Overall great work for a first jam!

6-Sided Sojourn by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2017-05-02T06:30:47Z

@x227man Thank you! We are working on an Android post-jam build.

@flying-cat-of-the-pepes Interesting suggestion! We are thinking of adding shops every 10 levels or so, so that if you die you return to the last shop you visited instead of starting from the beginning.

@meenners Great idea; different music per biome would add to the mood. Thanks!

@steve-johnson Thanks for the feedback! Haven't thought of trying different polyhedra to traverse; interesting idea but we would like to keep it simple for now. We may have different enemy types (some that move or have ranged attacks) to spice up the gameplay and difficulty.

@mao We have keyboard controls! **Z**, **X** to rotate the world, :arrow_backward: and :arrow_forward: to move to the front-left and front-right faces. Feel free to try them and let us know what you think.

WRLD by x227man 2017-05-02T05:55:29Z

Really liked the voxel animations! This was a pretty ambitious first jam game :)

Tiny Hadron Collider by clegamecoop 2017-05-02T06:05:11Z

Nicely polished, I enjoyed the music. Gameplay was a little difficult; took a couple tries before I got the hang of the pull of the gravity wells. I wish hitting the walls didn't result in a game over though, or there were spikes on the wall to indicate that. But that's just a small nitpick! Good work.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

ALL Your Cats by pcmaster 2017-12-08T08:33:07Z

Loved it, got a good laugh out of it! Definitely got difficult a little too quickly though.

Alphabet Cereal by kakarotsan 2017-12-08T07:55:42Z

Pretty straightforward word game, all the pieces were there, though I didn't feel it followed the theme too much. The music didn't really fit the mood but that's not a dealbreaker. Good job.

unrogue by dunin 2017-12-08T08:21:36Z

Took some time to get used to the concept, but it quickly got addicting. The graphics, sounds, and gameplay are all very tight; one of the benefits of the Pico8! I wish there were more items I could collect to spice up the gameplay. But this game is fun and has a lot of potential, good work!

Drunkest Dungeon by Alchemic 2017-12-08T06:07:04Z

The game is fun and challenging, the drunk effects are neat! Only thing is I sometimes get trapped when too many enemies start to crowd you into a crevice and punching them doesn't move them enough.

Poser by PeachTreeOath 2017-12-08T06:31:38Z

There were some good and interesting design choices here! I especially liked the addition of the radar. The different movement mechanics were nice to experiment with to try and separate the cliques, but I still feel more feedback is needed (for example I couldn't tell if pressing space did anything as a skater. Great work, especially with such a large team size!

HUDdled by Pox 2017-12-08T06:54:28Z

This was a lot of fun! I really liked your interpretation of the theme and the way you took a mechanic and pushed it overboard! I was initially frustrated when the first 2 HUDs appeared, but as more and more appeared I saw how clever it was. It was especially evil to have the keys be all over the keyboard, added to the cognitive load and sense of panic for the player. Great work!

Bot Fishing by Pseudokai 2017-12-08T08:04:41Z

Nice graphics and solid gameplay. Wish there were more fishing spots though.

Hatformer by Stevie Bushman 2017-12-08T07:11:12Z

I appreciate the amount of level design that goes into a game that dynamically changes depending on how many hats you have! I tried to play with as many hats as I can pick up but i quickly got destroyed by the spikes and platforming. I ended up strategically throwing off hats in difficult areas so I would have more platforms, fewer spikes, and fewer boss enemies. Impressively tight platforming physics, and very surprised you wrote it yourselves. I had a blast playing this game and only wish it were longer.

Bunnyfication by dekart 2017-12-28T09:23:16Z

Cute graphics and fun gameplay! The instructions were a bit hard to read, but I got the hang of the gameplay easily enough. It was fun trying to guess which buildings to buy to produce the types of bunnies needed for the quests. And I liked that in the early game it was kind of where's waldo-ey as I had to hunt down the buff bunnies from the crowd! Toward the end I had a bunch of the red sweater bunnies asleep on the ground, not sure how to wake them up? Overall, very well polished and cute, great work!

Sushi Secret by RainbowJam 2017-12-08T06:47:02Z

The AE appearance was hilarious! Loved that you put the tiny cutscene in there to introduce the "secret". The difficulty definitely ramps up too quickly though. Also there were moments where the physics was causing me to drop sushi trays off the conveyor belt, and breaking the conveyor flaps, although those moments did add to the humor.

Feature Creep by Garur 2017-12-08T07:47:26Z

Played through the whole game and have to say, I loved the concept and execution, and there were so many laugh-out-loud moments! There were a lot of features and I can see that a lot of time and love was poured into making the game.

Some quality-of-life improvements that could have helped with more enjoyment would be to have the narrator text and achievement text a little more out of the way, as they blocked a lot of the screen. Some more feedback would be helpful too-- I spent a long time wondering why I couldn't jump half the time and some sound feedback would help.

Also, I was stuck in the same pit that everyone else mentioned, and I realized that the art above the pit made it look like you can jump over it, when in reality there was an invisible wall on the other side. Hope that helps!

LD42 — Running out of space

Don't Miss! by djlink 2018-09-03T23:25:05Z

Great concept and love the sound effects, I laughed out loud when I first heard it!

Padundle by LSD 2018-09-03T23:33:08Z

Simple and polished with a unique gameplay idea. I don't see the use of hitting the player with the "launch down" portion, and I find "launch up" to be the most useful, essentially making it so I just focus on the top 1/3 of the paddle. Though that adds to the challenge! Great work.

@weekend-panda Thanks for playing our game! I'm sorry you ran into the bug, did this happen as soon as the game started? Did restarting the game fix it?

@kromeboy We're planning to add a single player mode with an AI in the post-game build; keep an eye out!

@noumenus Oops, that's definitely a collision bug, we'll try to address it. Thanks for playing!
