Enemies spawn as I go down, the guns work fine, but as soon as the first enemy spawns is inta death.
Have problems with sensitivity. Need 5000 dpi to play XD
Had a lot of fun playing this, I would really like to see this expanded into a full experience!
Great game, had a lot of fun playing it. The enemies are diverse and orthogonal enough to force me to quickly think about whom to prioritize, and I really dig the cel-shaded aesthetic. I'd appreciate, however, if the enemies had better visual/auditory feedback when receiving damage, as currently the guns feel a bit weak.
As a complete side-note, I'm happy to see fellow brazilians participating in the Ludum Dare. Finding your blog was a nice surprise too.
A cool idea. It was a little unclear that you had to walk off the edge to start falling - it would be better if you fall straight away. The enemies come at you and kill you quick. Nice mechanic with the dual wielding pistols. I would have liked them to feel a little meatier to fire. Overall, a fun idea!
Neat concept! It’s a little hard—the enemies have a ton of health whereas I seem to have almost none. The dual-wielding mechanic is fun. I think with some tuning this could be a really enjoyable mechanic. Well done.
The game is quite fun, but it could use some more enemy variety and more options to destroy them. If you focus on the falling aspect more, giving movement options like falling faster or enemies that attack in different angles for example, I think it could become a very fun game!
Good job on your first entry for ludumdare!
pretty cool. Takes a little too long to kill enemies but i like the fall FPS idea!
Solid in concept, but the execution felt underwhelming.
I initially though enemies would come from below so I was looking down and lost a couple of times not knowing what hit me. But then the gameplay turned out to be "hold D + hold Left-click + drag mouse". Like a regular shooter on ground, but with no thinking. And very, very tanky enemies.
Would be fun if it was more focused on falling and shooting down. When I saw the two guns on the cover and read the description it made me think of Beat Saber, but with moving down and with guns instead of sabers! I'd love to play a shooter like that.
I did the thing a few people did where I looked down at the start and then mysteriously died. But then I figured out what was happening the second time around.
Thinking more about that, the first few seconds of a game are really important, particularly a game jam game where people aren't always going to devote a lot of time to fully play through it. (I see a few of the first commenters might not have got past the very first level). So I wonder how you could fix that. Maybe a simple thing would be if the player is looking too low have a message that says "look up!" and have a similar message if they're looking too high.
A more complicated option might be to have arrows to indicate something is offscreen, like these: Rl3Qm.png
I liked how when you died you resumed at the stage you got up to. I think it'd be good if the UI emphasized that more, and made the whole dying and restarting loop faster and cleaner. Something like "click to restart stage 9"
And then as far as the game feel goes, I also agree with what others suggested of giving the enemies less health. Generally, having lots of weaker enemies is more fun than a few really strong enemies.
Oh, and I got up to the level with two of the blue crosses and a whole bunch of the other enemies. Couldn't get further than that, haha
Great concept, but I had a little trouble understanding the enemies spawning on my first couple of jumps (I was looking down or at the wall in front of me). But once I got the hang of it, it was pretty cool
the idea and gameplay are really good, the 2 weapons are perfectly usable, didnt encounter any bugs apart from where i fell from the world at the end but that didnt do anything to the gameplay, the art is fine but it could be way better, some music would be nice but its not necesary, and the enemy spawns need to be fixed a little, overall, great game with a few issues
Thanks everyone for the feedback! This is was my first FPS but it certainly won't be my last. I'm happy to have participated in this Ludum Dare, even though my game was not as good as I had hoped.
