Both audio and graphics creates mysterious mood, not gonna lie I liked it. Unfortunately I run out of oxygen while carrying body of dead diver so I didn't reached the ending and it was kinda too long for me to replay whole game. I think adding checkpoints (like after finding a rope or body) would be good idea. Anyway I enjoyed it and would play something like that but more polished with some deeper story.

Nice atmosphere, good game :)

The way to the bottom felt a bit too long. The art and mood were really nice and gave the game a good feel.

I agree with @cninja. Wish I would have known about having to go back. too long to replay it but it the mode, sound and graphics are awesome. Check points would help.

Wonderful atmosphere! The music and graphics really create a mysterious and interesting mood. love the title image (on this page) too!

I think not knowing about having to go back actually quite a neat idea. It caught me off-guard and made me panic a bit on the way back. Didn't end up making it

The audio and visuals are simple but very effective, creating a strong atmosphere, which is helped by the lighting.

The theme is serviceable but nothing out of the ordinary.

From the innovation point of view I enjoyed the newspaper framing but didn't find anything particularly innovative within the gameplay.

The weakest point for me was the actual gameplay. It's still not bad but very basic and lacks any diversity. So when I reached the bottom I was ready to be done with the game only to find out I had to go back up. Also the balancing seems a bit off. I couldn't figure out how to avoid the octopus but easily avoided the sharks by just swimming near the floor and the punishment for getting hit is barely noticeable.

Areas to improve: Make the enemies more threatening (more aggressive and/or harder punishment for being hit) Add some variety to the gameplay (e.g. an enemy that slowly chases you to increase urgency; a means to defend yourself; a short dash to escape enemies; ...)

Overall it is a good entry with a strong atmosphere and serviceable gameplay. The criticism is on a high level and considering the time restraints a lot of it might simply be out of the scope for a game jam game. Good job and sorry for the novel.

I had fun playing this. Really great job in setting up the mood. it was a very intense journey down and very stressful way up!

Thank you all for your feedback, we are working on a post LD version and are taking what all of you said into consideration. There will be checkpoints, the way down will be shorter and we will improve on other things aswell.

@54t4nmi5t There already is a dash, it is listed under 'Controls' and works by pressing the shift key.

Thank you guys for playing, rating and giving us feedback to improve! ^-^

Cool game, I really liked the idea of the rope and the narcosis slowly reducing the field of view. As some have said the way back is really hard, I tried a second run by leaving some bubbles for the way back but even with that I only took a wrong turn and it was game over. (Also some fish don't belong where they are, but that's just me being a nerd). Congratulation on your game!

Congratulations on the game, the feeling of being at the bottom of the sea was achieved, I played several times, but I lost myself in the end because I lost myself, I understand that is the idea, I did not understand why people came out of nowhere and I did not escape it, I hope that evolve the project, add other objectives, create a story, to attract a greater number of people to be playing your game, a big hug, and I await your feedback on my game I will be grateful.
