Nice Visuals.

dezom 2021-04-27 10:35

Graphics look really cool, you guys did a great job to nail the underwater cave feeling. I like how you get a bunch of helpful tools, and a grappling hook is always fun ;).

katsuhira 2021-04-27 10:44

inhale I did

diotins 2021-04-27 10:48

Very good looking game! You really nailed the deep underwater cave feeling too! Love the Subnautica vibes :)

thebmxeur 2021-04-27 14:41

Completely forgot about the flares and wandered (and died) for 10 minutes. The used them by accident and found the 4 remaining nerves. Nice one.

eugenik 2021-04-27 17:05

Amazing!.

nicso 2021-04-27 17:37

macdoom 2021-04-29 07:38

COOL GAME MAN! Reminded me of that 60's movie "Fantastic voyage". Metroid Prime vibes all around. Really immersive ambience. Loved the laser harpoon. Got stuck on the appendix apparently. Excellent work!

budark 2021-04-29 09:21

Coool graphics, I'm very impressed. Beautiful shaders, lights... really a good environment my fives

steelax 2021-04-29 12:07

This was a really viusally great game, the mechnics all worked and it fit the theme well. great job

justcamh 2021-04-29 16:36

Hey guys, thanks for submitting your game to the stream, I had a lot of fun playing it! I hope the feedback was helpful. Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch;

oc1d 2021-04-29 16:40

@justcamh thank you so much for playing. Most of it you got!! :) You just should have put the resolution to something at 30% for a decent framerate. Next time we will put simpler options! I will playtest your game later :-)

the-body 2021-04-29 20:42

Cool idea and awesome visual art, I like the environment and the lightings. Great job!

studio-gomp 2021-04-30 03:38

The art was awesome! And the controls were mostly good, but it did feel strange to not be able to go up considering you should theoretically be able to swim.

whysguy52 2021-04-30 06:22

Very nice. Obviously very aesthetically pleasing. Curious how you did some of the effects like the scan. I did a scan in my game and would like to know what you did for yours. Anyways, great job team!

oc1d 2021-04-30 06:27

Thank you @whysguy52 . I'm sure @mrtapa can help as he did the scan effect (I'm about to learn this as well as I am curious as you) :-)

mrtapa 2021-04-30 09:41

@whysguy52 The scan is made up of two parts, a post process outline shader - masked by two sphere masks with subtracted from one another to create a ring in world space which is then controlled by the scan radius. And the second part is a particle system that slaps particles over the the buffer: meaning it places sprites onto objects you are currently rendering, and the sprites themselves have the same 2 sphere mask logic in them, controlled by the same scan parameter, so in the end it all works sort of in sync :)

chrispy977 2021-05-01 03:40

Pretty interesting take on the theme. Felt really deep and dark, can't believe you were able to make all of this in one weekend. Pretty insane level of detail. The fishes around the map didn't seem to fit into the environment too well.

local-minimum 2021-05-01 07:53

Love the visuals and the sounds making it into a very comlete experience. I played the angry scientist version, but I found it kind of cute with the molecule mixup. I had some issues with the controls. I felt like I should be able to get up easier swimming, but all I could do was some sort of semi-controlled falling down deeper and deeper pits. Great entry though.

wuppos 2021-05-01 12:30

Really nice experience! Well done! The graphics were amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. I really liked the idea that you kept all progress after you died. There was a penalty for dying because you had to go all the way back to the beginning, but the penalty was small enough that I was not demotivated to continue after death. Even though most of the terrain was made of the same material, it was still unique everywhere, and you had landmarks that made it possible to find your way back to where you died. I finished the game and was happy to see there was an actual ending to it. That made the whole feel complete ^_^

I usually try to give at least some critical feedback, but to be honest I dont have much. The grappling hook was sometimes a bit tricky to use, but nothing too bad. And I did not really see the point of the dash all that much (except for moving around faster). Thanks a lot for making this! It was very different from other LD games I played so far, and I enjoyed it a lot :D

oc1d 2021-05-01 12:34

@wuppos aww.. thank you so much for your feedback and taking the time. Really glad you enjoyed it!! This makes me very happy :)

joedev 2021-05-01 18:20

Woah the environment and effects in this are killer! Did you make all of the gross body models / textures /etc yourself? That's epic!

diviy boiy.png

I enjoyed this quite a bit, especially when the grappling gun got involved. You just can't beat a grappling gun, really. The progression seemed to work very smoothly, and even though I had literally no idea where I was going most of the time, I found all of the nerves easily enough. I feel bad for whatever being this is that we're destroying, they already have spinning wheels of sharp teeth inside their body, I say they have it bad enough as it is!

Good job team :)

mrtapa 2021-05-01 18:25

@joedev Thanks a lot for the feedback and I am happy you enjoyed it, to answer your questions about the models, yes - everything is the game was made by us during the jam

oc1d 2021-05-01 18:32

@joedev Thank you for this playthrough and you are the first one submitting a result. Very happy I am right now! :D

assertfailure 2021-05-01 19:11

Amazing atmosphere, works very well. The grappling gun mechanics weren't as obvious as I would've wanted, had some problems figuring that out. And the game does get a bit tedious after a while, especially when I thought those green dots are like a path to follow but at one point they started to just point into a dead end. Otherwise, a very cool game and the aesthetics are on point. Also the snarky computer voice :D

maaxoom 2021-05-03 10:17

Great mood overall. I had some performance issues after my first death but had fun nonetheless!

oc1d 2021-05-03 12:38

Thanks for playing @maaxoom ! If you ever want to play it again there are options on the O key, just put the resolution to half and play on medium quality should fix it :)

shumarie 2021-05-04 23:00

Awesome game! I really liked the process of finding nerves. For a few days of Ludum, you have made a very good level design, thought through the increase in the player's capabilities and at the same time each module is useful. Amazing work!

The visual and sound design of the game is also good. "The program" is very funny comments on what is happening. It's not boring with her.

Only I didn't understand in the game that I need to avoid leeches, and I can kill big fishes to get oxygen. I saw an explanation about this in the description on Ludum after I finished the game.

oc1d 2021-05-05 06:10

@shumarie Thank you for playing and the positive feedback :D Yeah there was not enough time unfortunately to introduce the mechanics to the player properly. Maybe there are even too many of them. We figured this out a little bit too late which is a good learning for me (us).

paulhocker 2021-05-07 04:45

this was a wonderful game. i love the exploration and the puzzle elements. the levels were very well designed. very impressive game. thanks for making it.

viperux 2021-05-09 14:49

Nice game :-) In the beginning I was a bit confused on what to do and how to move but in the end I managed to find all the data packs and finish the game (it tooks me 6 hosts and around 1000 seconds). I'm impressed with the level design and the environment. You did alot in just 3 days, good work!

fabula-rasa 2021-05-10 00:33

Couldn't help but notice that I am not actually opening the door, it's already open - false advertising !

Very nicely made and quite impressive for the limited jam time. I really liked the whole sparse soundscape - it gave the game this a bit creepy, a bit mysterious underwater feel.

If I had to wish for one thing, it would be somewhat wider fov. Everything felt very much in my face (especially disturbing with the leaches.... brrrr.... ;)). I was getting lost all the time and I killed more hosts than anybody should ever, but the exploration was fun! And the fact that you could find your previous dead host out there was a very nice touch - reminded me of "Lone Echo".

oc1d 2021-05-10 07:36

@viperux oh wow.... you collected all the stars? A lot of fame you have now! That makes me really happy :)

cheesepencil 2021-05-10 17:24

Upload a web build so I can play your game!

bodamat 2021-05-18 14:59

Wow, It's so cool! Great graphics and maybe simple mechanics  It goes well with topic and also gives a new experience to research places.
