The swimming works really good! I didn't get to find an observatory. I just went straight down hoping there should be something there xD. But it is refreshing to see an VR game.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → Divey (VR Only)

Awe! I don't have my VR set up :( maybe later this week I will
The swimming locomotion works really well I think. I found it hard to find the observatories and couldn't figure out how to charge the batteries from there however I think there aren't enough VR games like this. Good luck with ratings.
Alrighty, I played this game on a Valve Index with 2 index controllers on my PC with a 1080.
Once I figured out how to walk, it took me a hot minute to figure out where the entrance to the sub was. Once there, it was a bit of a struggle to swim in, but I got it.
Controlling the sub was great! The little controller thing that looks just like my controllers was super fun. Controlling the sub is by far the best part of the game, I wish it had all been about that.
Because... the swimming didn't work for me at all. The first time I played it, I got to the observatory, put on my mask, opened the sub, and then drowned in the airlock. Because I spent the whole 2 minutes trying to swim out the door. The second time I closed the door on myself like ten times, and then got outside, and immediately floated back to the surface, my futile swim gestures powerless against my own buoyancy.
Very ambitious to create a VR swimming mechanic in a game jam, maybe I just didn't understand it, but it didn't work for me. If you have a tutorial or video or something on how to do the swimming, I'll try it again lol.
Interesting experience! Submarine controller feels cool. Mask adds some immersion.
Oculus Quest 2 with Air Link here.
Some remarks: 1. Game feels pretty empty and hard to navigate underwater. 2. Sometimes battery in hand just disappears but charge indicator is still visible. 3. It is hard to open doors while carrying two batteries. 4. Switch between two moving modes underwater sometimes confuses: you try to swim but nothing happens because you've touched ground.
Hope this will be helpful.
Cool entry!
It feels pretty empty, but you have made solid foundations for interesting experience.
