Hahaha this is one is really good! I really enjoyed playing this game. At first i thought it was an interesting game mechanic and every new tentacle made it easier but at some point i had so many that it was really hard to not get cooked. Pretty good graphics and tentacle sound was top notch. Really good game, well done!
Cool. I need to look at your source on how you did the tentacles, I need a string-like feature for a game I wanted to do. Anyways, great mechanic and not too easy. I tried ramming the keyboard to try and cheat lol. Almost worked until I started moving backward =) Great sfx as well.

Adorable little game!
Though it quickly becomes a fight against your keyboard matrix if you don't have a high rollover keyboard... I can't really fault the game for that though.

@sadcolor Hehe, true! Though I guess it still fits the theme!
@interface You're welcome to take a look... though it's not super clean, just a chain of Hinges!
@huitre ah yes I've tried the hinges. It worked but I need lots of them and it was a little cpu-heavy (I tried to run as a phone game).
I like the idea, very creative!! I really like the tentacles mechanic, good job and keep up the hard work!

This is the first 5/5 game from me - absolutely love it! This is a brilliant idea, and completely fits the theme: it's a nightmare later on!
Incredible! I don't know why but although annoying in a way the audio was also extremely fitting (obviously). Original concept and a nice execution.
Great use of theme and a very original idea! If I could change one thing, I would have had it so that the keys you had to press didn't change when you went out of range and then back into range, but that may have been something you did on purpose to keep the challenge up. Excellent job!
I really enjoyed that. It just worked. There was nothing wrong with it bugs or gameplay wise and it just played well and was fun. I enjoyed this way too much and spent far too long seeing how far I could push it, and how many tentacles I could get before giving up. I ended up figuring out the strategy that if you go fast enough, you tentacles stay far enough in the air to not get burned, so I ended up blasting across many a stage and most of the time failing. The only problem I had was that sometimes I would get to a grab point and there was no where I could go, no options were made avaliable to me. Nonetheless this still was a really fun and unique game.

Superb game, very cool!
One small thing I don't understand - how you restart the game? SUPPR? wtf? :D
I loved it! Once I wasn't able to complete any more rounds due to excessive tentacles I had fun spamming my keyboard as a final attempt. The suction cup sound effect made that attempt even better. Congrats on a great compo entry!!

@arek Yeeeaaahh, it's DEL! It's called Suppr on my keyboard!

GIRP meets Octodad - a combination I never thought I needed to see. Well, I've got no real problems with the gameplay. It does what it sets out to perfectly. One issue is you don't really get much of a reward for winning. The ball just disappears and you get an extre arm. Just a little sound effect would have gone a long way. Apart from that I can't really complain. My laptop keyboard wasn't able to keep up with the amount of keys that needed to be pressed after about four arms, so I couldn't get too far unfortunately, but it was really fun until then.

@banan I didn' know GIRP, thanks for the discovery! It's true, a little trumpet would have been nice at the end, I forgot.
Haha loved it. It's so much fun, loved the sound too. Excellent use of procedural animation. 10/10 mastapiece
I LOVE the take on the theme! It was very enjoyable to collect more tentacles and maneuver my hands around to progress. The sounds were very fitting too, and the graphics are absolutely amazing for a Ludum Dare game. I have nothing else to say, great job!o

Haha, I couldn't really get very far. It got tough fast as I forgot which fingers were in the back!
I thought this was great fun! Turns you into a real spagetti-fingers

I'm so glad you hosted this online, because this was awesome. It's unique and innovative and the controls... oh my gosh, the controls, the more tentacles you have... Thank you for creating something different. Bravo!
There was one point where I had my fingers on all the keys and I wanted to take a screenshot to share the picture here, but ultimately, too many of my fingers were occupied. Rock on!

Loved the idea! Really fun game! But sometimes I could just spam a button and fly towards the end of the level, but other than that, great game! Very nice entry!

@cubeeo Haha! As you can imagine, I know the feeling... I needed a screenshot assistant to illustrate this page!
@benburgh True, it would be nice if the letters stayed on screen...
Those sounds are so satisfying oh man
Awesome idea and execution, lots of fun. Well done!

Really well done!, graphics and audio are superb and I like the design of the octopus. Gameplay wise is quite hard but I felt compelled to keep trying until I got the orb a few times. Superb job!

Interesting to be sure! I enjoyed the idea of the game, though I think the mechanic feels a bit too "uncertain" - I understand that's how physics games are supposed to be, but it does feel like often I would do something (press/hold) a key and nothing much would change. And that's counting in key jams, so I'm talking about one key at a time. Often losing doesn't feel like "my fault", and it would be good to address that with more clarity in feedback to the player (and tightening of physics)
Yes, and key jams ruin this game big time, and isn't something you can control, but should, I think, be something you take into consideration when designing the game. I would have liked to see the game be more responsive so you don't have to/want to hold down that many keys at a time.
Good job :)
That is awesome, I like how much momentum that you can get. I did respawn after getting the goal and the character leaned backwards placing itself too far away for the first letters to start.

"Congratulations! You've gain another tentacle!" Hahahhaa so you reach 5, 6 tentacles and the game is near impossible! Very nice implementation on the theme. Fun to play, beautiful graphics and nice ambience SFX. Congrats!

Wow this game was fantastic! I Love the graphics and slurp sound is so funny! The idea genius and really fun to play. This game fits the theme more than any other game I've played! This should have way more ratings than it does.
Well done, congrats and good luck!

Pretty fun game. This game makes me remember the game QWOP. The slurp sound is perfect for this game. Well done

This game matches the theme perfectly and is the most original idea I've played so far. And it's a load of fun with great visuals and audio design too. Genius!

Genius! I absolutely loved this game. Takes dexterity games to a whole new level if you try to play it slow, like twister for your keyboard. Very original and the audio and visuals are both spot on. Definitely in my top 10 for the compo, great work!

Awesome game. It truly gets harder the more you have. Once I had too many tentacles my finger kind of interlocked and it was really hard to release a specific tentacle. The game was a lot of fun, good job.
Somehow I managed to "swing back" and landed on the floor without any way to grab anything (and thus was stuck there).

This one is a fun typing and physics game. Very original, and looks and sounds very funny. Getting to later levels and kinda speedrunning through them feels so satisfying. It's incredible to me that this is a compo submission, since it's so well executed and polished.
I do appreciate it that there's a reset button of sorts, since I did find a pair of problems while playing. On one run, a tentacle got stuck in the ceiling, so I couldn't progress past the start. In another, no letters appeared at all.

Other than that, I did have a very good time, and that's not my fanboyism of cephalopods speaking only. [In behalf of my sea-creature themed team](twitter.com/whalesandgames), we're looking forward to seeing more projects from you in the future! Keep up the good work! :whale:

Interesting and innovative game although it shows that I'm really bad at knowing which finger is at which key as I only know how to type from memory but not remembering which finger position is which letter. And using dvorak on a qwerty keyboard means only A and M is possible to visually lookup. :-)

Poor Tentaclemonster :( After some time there weren't enough letters on screen to grab onto and a level or tentacle count would've helped to track progress. Thanks for the good game :)

Fun game! I am really bad at typing, like really bad. But I was still able to play, very fun, very hard after a while. Since the amount of holds start to disappear the more you progress. I think I got pretty far considering! Here's my let's play of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omN-h8eOM4Y

Hopefully, someone besides me considers a casino hobby and sports betting to be my hobby? Personally, for me, a hobby is what you do in your spare time and what brings you pleasure. Well, these entertainments began to bring me even more pleasure when I started playing here https://cvasino.se/casinon/spinia/ . This is a really cool playground with gambling fun. Until you try it yourself, you will not believe it.

I also really like this fun game! Mostly do I play a lot different casino games at https://casinoutanlicens.eu/ but sometimes it is fun to try new games and just relax.
Very cool idea, I like it)

I often spend time at the weekend playing in the online casino in Chile. I prefer it to other casinos, because I like a large selection of slot machines, I immediately singled out a few of my favorites. There are constantly different promotions, give out bonuses. On https://firstwebcasino.com/cl/ I play roulette, it is possible both for free and for money, come in, look in more detail and do not miss anything.

I downloaded this game for fun. But it still managed to pull me in for a certain amount of time. Now I haven't played a game like Tentagrab for half a year. I have more important things to do. Around the time I stopped playing games, I got into gambling. Much to my surprise, I made dozens of times more money than expected here in that time. I'm considering starting my own team to play online casinos, poker, etc. And the idea came to mind for a reason. Some friends and I made about five thousand dollars monthly at https://jeetwinonline.com/. At this rate, in the future, you can open your own betting.
