Congrats for your entry! I loved the amount of different power ups, keeps me playing until I was sure to have seen them all :) Blowing enemies up with the C4 was a blast. If there was one improvement to make I would suggest the control scheme maybe? (move + jump with arrows/WASD).

Fun! The anvil is really hard to use.
I ran into a weird issue where the world was all black but I could see the cards, player, and enemy sprites (Chrome on OS X). I couldn't really see what I was doing most of the time, but somehow I still managed to get around alright, pick up cards, and blast scary looking things. I love the concept, and the card variety is pretty impressive! Dunno what caused the glitch, but I had fun anyway!
@Ninjascribble huh, that's weird. If it's not too much trouble, could you go to the game page, start a game, and then go to the developers console (ctrl + shift + I) and then click on "console" on the top tab, and let me know if there's any errors there?
Thanks for letting me know about the bug!
@technonugget Yeah, I opened up Chrome dev tools to see if there were any Javascript errors. Nothing in there I'm afraid, so... who knows! Here's a screenshot if you're curious about what it looked like though.

I love the game concept. It is a game that requires skill to accomplish (haha) it took me a few tries and I think that was one of the concepts to think of when making a game with this theme. It was providing players with a challenge and I liked it. Would love to see where this goes, I just have one suggestion could it be possible to inverse the roles of the x and c key, it was just difficult and tedious. As well as the cards themselves had a humorous aspect and I look forward to seeing more card types in the future.

Card + action is pretty common, but implementation is so good, game feels solid and fun.
I really love the interactions between all the effects - exploding corpses and bouncing eyeballs - makes it feel really juicy and kinetic, and the AI does a good job of putting up a nice challenge. I'm not sure if I like the controls for using the cards though, I guess it really takes some getting used to. Cool that you made the levels procedurally generated, that allows for a lot of replayability. There was one time where a whole section was cut off though so maybe the procgen might need a bit of tweaking? All in all, great entry and I had lots of fun!

I don't understand how to go in the down part if I'm in the up one (and inversely), but except that point, it was fun to play, and the theme is well used in this game. Good job!
@LeReveur Hey, thanks for pointing out that it was confusing how to fall through platforms. I added a description of how to do it up in my post. Anyway here's how to do it: just hold the 'down key' while you are falling.
@randomphantom hey man, thanks for all the feedback! Yeah I was iffy about the controls myself. I was gonna change them up when before I submitted but ended up not having time. And yeah that level with the divider is a bit confusing, but it's actually supposed to be a platform that you can fall through by holding the 'down' key while you are falling.
A fun and hard game :D Nice job!

It's a bit confusing at first, but I liked playing this game a lot. I especially find the presentation great. The pixelart is very clean and the controls feel great. Good job !

The controls confused me at first, but I had a lot of fun playing. Especially jumping on top of the floating eyeballs and watching them bounce away, for some reason that made me lol.

I had a similar issue with the down key platform function (thank you for adding to the page description!) I think my confusion came from my bias of other platformers. I tried just holding down as it's done in other platformers. I think as long as that's clear in your tutorial later, you'll be fine though.
The platforming feels really tight and precise. The items are a good collection and it's interesting to experiment with the ones you use.
There are some things I noticed that * Defining a clear goal * Tweaking the enemy spawn rate early in the level or decreasing the amount of hits they take. I feel overwhelmed pretty quickly and I don't feel like I get a lot of time to learn the controls before dying (or maybe I should just git good)
This is really great work! Would love to see this fleshed out into a deeper system
Hey thanks for the feedback @Deprecat !
I am working an an update right now actually and I have tweaked the controls to be much less confusing and added the platform falling to the instructions page. I've added a few more cards and am working on more enemies.
You're definitely right about the enemy spawn rate, so I'll be messing with that too. Sometimes it feels too slow and then all the sudden there's like 10 enemies that are swarming you.

As a child of WASD, driving a character with the arrow keys is a bit contrary to my nature, so I had some problems with ummm, not dying...a lot. I liked the different powerups, and nice call back with the IMAFIRINMALAZER guy, if I've learned anything from the LD community, and the gamer community at large, its that they love lasers. The ability to manage and someone control which powerup you were using was nice as well. I never did figure out how to drop down through platforms till I saw it in the comments. Overall, a nice entry. Thanks for sharing!
Really fun, but the controls are not so good sadly, and hard to learn. But it still was really fun. Nice job! I love the lazer guy
It was fun to play! Although I ran into a bug in which the more cards you have, the laggier the game becomes, until it was unplayable, I also found some invisible colliders here and there. With more polish, it could become a good game
I played it for a while and... at first, I was killed twice, but at third time I survived for 6 or 7 waves. I really liked the different powers (laser and triple shoot the best!). Controls are simple and good for me.
Good entry!
@alejandrodecea Thanks for pointing that out! Turns out the issue is with Firefox's implementation of text rendering on some systems. I'll add a work around eventually, probably pre-render the text and store it on a canvas for later use or something. but if you wanted to try it without lag it should work flawlessly on chrome.

Bit hard at first till you get used to the controls and the mechanics, but fun all the way. Really cool entry! Great Job

Lots of fun playing it. The sound were a bit rebarbative but the power ups and fun was great ! Well done.
@TechnoNugget Certainly! Firefox is having trouble with some of the submissions apparently, forgot to mention I was using it, but you got that figured out anyway
